This was to be a special evening - an Anniversary celebration. When we booked our Table we requested a quiet table location. We even stopped at the Restaurant 2 hours before our reservation to check it out, and reinforce to the Hostess, our desire for...a quiet table. When we arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation, we asked the same Hostess for a quiet table. We were taken to a smaller very loud room, and place next to a table of 20 loud business men having a fun dinner. We couldn’t even hear each other, let alone the waiter. This was horrible!!! We did manage to get moved to another room, which was quieter. However, this rudeness spoiled the atmosphere of our evening. The Food was good, but definitely over priced. The table service was very good. The wine - significantly over priced. Overall - not worth the high costs - with such poor attention to a positive experience and details!!More

We had a party of three to celebrate my wife's birthday on December 24th. Reservations weeks in advance for 7:30 pm. When we arrived at 7:15 pm there were people waiting inside and outside the restaurant to be seated. We spoke with several others who...had reservations for 6:00 pm and had yet to be seated, We were finally taken to our table at 9:00 pm were we spent 20 minutes waiting to be acknowledged by staff. Over the course of the evening there seemed to be confusion among the staff as to who was our waiter. No less than three people seemed to take turns serving in that capacity. I realize there was a capacity crowd but service was extremely slow. It was 11:00 pm when we departed. The food we had was excellent but the other elements of our experience were extremely lacking for the cost of the meal. I don't mind paying for quality but this restaurant lacks severely in the management of their resources and I would suspect continued experiences like ours will drive customers to other restaurants. In today's environment, there are plenty of other upscale restaurants who continue to operate with far more efficiency than Chophouse 47 of Greenville.More

The fish is out of this world. My better half had filet with blue cheese and the shellfish bisque. Highly recommended. I also had their brussels sprouts and they were cooked to perfection.

Server - David L David is fantastic. We would request to be in his section again. Despite his young age, he subscribes to old school service with an eye for detail. For example, when we were seated, he presented us with a card signed by...the entire staff for our first anniversary. Another example, as I was standing up I asked a passing waiter where the restroom was. He said something and motioned in one direction. Out of the corner of my eye someone came over, it was David. He personally escorted me to the bathroom which was not where I thought it would be based on the other waiter's direction. David was excellent at anticipating our needs and provided extra service (yes over and above) beyond these two examples. He's wonderful. What would we order again - Sazerac cocktail Prosecco Wedge salad Lamp chops Petite filet Cheesecake Decaf coffee What would we not order again - I prefer fresh berries with my cheesecake vs a sauce with a few cut up strawberries in it.More

Made it to Chophouse 47 last night for our anniversary. I had the filet served Oscar. It was charred to perfection and cooked exactly right!! My wife had the center cut prime and it too was cooked perfectly! Our server William was one of the...best ever!! He made sure everything was done right, and that we were enjoying our evening. Diffidently a 10 in our book and we will be back! Thanks again William, we will request you the next time we come!!More

We went with a group of friends Friday night (out of towners - we were there for Clemson/FSU football game), and were so very impressed! First, the service was great. Doug was so knowledgeable and helpful with all of our questions. He made some wonderful...recommendations. The bone in ribeye was DIVINE. The bread was great. The drink were fabulous. We can't wait to go back in two years when we play in Clemson again!More

At the last minute, a friend and I decided to have dinner and went to the Chophouse 47 bar. Thankfully found a spot with few seats left. We were sort of "dissed" by Tiffany at the bar but helpful Katie picked up the slack and...gave us awesome service. Ordering a wedge salad to share and an Oysters Rockefeller apiece was more than satisfying, it was delicious. Brad mixed our shared salad with the experience that comes from 9 years of loyal service to Chophouse 47. We each had a house Chardonnay by glass and our bill was under $50 apiece. The oysters are absolutely incredible!!More

Food: It will be good IF cooked properly. - Appetizers: the oyster Rockefeller was over baked, and the oyster was very chewy. I question the quality. The baked shrimp was good, except very dry. - Entrée/main dishes: here is the 2nd PROBLEM. The steaks: both...the bone in ribeye and the veal chop were grilled with temperature level below the requested; the ribeye was raw in the middle instead of medium rare, and the veal was medium rare instead medium. We had to finish cooking them at home. - Desserts: The New York cheesecake is the one I get always. Drinks: Good selection of wine, moderately priced. Service: This is the 1st PROBLEM. The terrible service. I complaint before about that two month earlier when I dined there, but it was during a holiday weekend, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt for being extremely busy and overbooked (and of-course understaffed). So, this time I ate early at 6:30pm on a Wednesday. It was so slow and almost empty that even they closed the whole nice quiet section in the back. Yet, it was terrible. Three aspects of bad service; The seating hostess: most probably new to this industry and I am sure her first ever job dealing with human beings, lacks any social skills. I think a filler for a very slow weekday. She good not understand nor accommodate any of our requests for seating preference as we requested during reservation on opentable.com (the details will be discussed with management). The serving waitress: extremely friendly but slow, we have to ask the busboy to get her to serve us. Yes, understaffed place, yet it was very slow night and no excuse for this bad service. She also missed up one of the orders. I almost finished my dibber before she got me my dinner wine. The Lobster servant: He destroyed the Lobster …. I think this is the first time he handled a lobster, the claws came shredded pieces! Beside it was under cooked (raw). Ambience/atmosphere: it is very loud for a steakhouse because it serves a lot of businesses in the area and business groups eat there after work in their street cloths and to socialize with loud voices (and nothing wrong with that, we the locals encourage them and encourage our businesses) …. We were seated beside one of those, in the middle of the room so the waitress of that table kept hitting the back of my chair every time he attended that table, I felt like sitting in an airplane with a kid behind me kept hitting the back of my seat. It was very annoying; with this clumsy waiter. Value: Is not worth it at all. Bad service and improperly prepared and served food. Overall rating! Zero out of 5. Recommendations: never again for me, for my family, for my friends, and FOR MY BUSINESS.More

We went for Mother's Day, Chophouse 47 is our family favorite. My advice after today, wait for dinner! We had 6 for lunch, only 4 really ate theirs. The salad was good! Had to wait on water service, waitstaff was not attentive, and the food...was absolutely not up to par! They even spilt the wine when pouring and didn't try to wipe the bottle so it kept spilling. Not worth the price today!More

Always great food and service when we visit. I base my review at a steakhouse on the quality and cook of the steak, also the consistency of each time we go. Everytime not only are the steaks consistent but so is the service and drinks!...Love the atmosphere too! Cheers!More

Celebrating my wife’s birthday. We had the pleasure of having Doug as our sever. He was professional, courteous, and amiable. Getting to know him was an added bonus, on top of his exemplary service. The food was outstanding as usual. We both had filet mignon....The music selection was even better than last time. The Manager even rushed me out more Caesar dressing when it was prepped. Highly recommend this establishment for any occasion.More

The steak, crab cake and shrimp were delicious. The vegetables, broccolini, asparagus very tough and cold. The Brussel sprouts, flavor good but temperature cold. The service was great! A once in a lifetime experience. Key word, "once".

I don't often go to expensive restaurants, but every once in a while, an occasion calls for it. My boyfriend treated me to dinner at Chophouse 47 for my birthday in March. The service from start to finish was on point. I typically do not...order bourbon drinks, but I had the Old-Fashioned made with Woodford Reserve. It was perfect. So perfect, in fact, I ordered a 2nd one. The steak was perfectly cooked and I cannot say enough about the service. The ambiance is so lovely and quiet. Soft lighting, good music that is not too loud and a beautiful wood interior is so welcoming. If you want to treat a specail someone to dinner, I would recommend this restaurant.More

Do not waste your time here. Go somewhere else. The lighting is awful. We had to get our phones out to see the menu. The place was over booked. Once we fought through the sea of people to be seated. The service was horrible. We...had to consistently ask for our waiter for drinks. He never came back to the table to check on us, and was very unpleasant. Then the food came. The steak we ordered were not cooked the way we ordered them. We sent them back twice and they still came out wrong. The sides were awful. We had the potato wedges that were burnt and tasted like they had been cooked in old grease They were cold as well. The manager only came to take the items off our bill. We never received an apology for our experience. This was by far the worse food experience my and I have experienced. We will never visit this restaurant again.More
