Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This bakery delivers EVERY time! One of the last things my dad requested before he passed away was their Strawberry Rhubarb pie. He told us the German Chocolate was another one of his favorites there and we picked one up this weekend.....omigosh!!! It is DI-VINE!...Without a doubt the BEST German Chocolate cake I've ever had; and I've tried a LOT :) Moist chocolate cake with the most delicious pecan filling. Worth. Every. Penny. I'm from Atlanta, but have to stop in at Strossner's to try something new every time we're in town. Pictures do not do it justice.More

If you want delicious food, healthy choices, reasonable prices, and excellent customer service, please visit this wonderful restaurant that has been in business for several generations. I was in town from the Washington, DC area visiting family and my daughter suggested we have lunch here....I was blown away by their delectable bakery and in being greeted by Robin M. who told me the restaurant's history, family, and food selections offered. We had lunch and then made our way back to the bakery to take home some sweets! Robin's pleasant demeanor and patience was the cherry on top of a great experience. This is a must visit every time I'm in town, and I encourage others to visit and partake in some of their delicious food/bakery offerings. Thanks Robin M!More

The bakery is wonderful, all of the food is just gorgeous. The staff, however, made our visit frustrating and annoying. They were rude, inattentive, and quite condescending. Most of the negative reviews that I have read, mention the staff. Perhaps some training is in order....Visiting a bakery is a treat for most people, this ended up feeling like a punishment.More

That's the only way I would be able to try every bakery item in there, along with everything else on their menu. You've got to visit this place .... again, and again, and again!

Amazing lunch with delicious shepards pie. It came with a small salad and a fresh roll. Everything was fresh and tasty. Came with zero knowledge of the place, and left delighted!

This is a wonderful place to get really good quiche and bakery goods. Found it a year ago and we are addicts now. Recently we had a casserole that wasn't up to their usual standards. I called, and the manager took care of it so...wonderfully. When a place of business takes care of their customers well, and provides delicious food, you know you have found a great place to come.More

My first visit to the #1 rated bakery cafe in Greenville did not disappoint. Strossner’s was joyfully decorated for the Christmas holidays. You order your lunch at the counter and find a place to sit. For lunch I had the better than a bagel sandwich....It came with 2 cheese crackers, a side of fresh fruit salad and a creme de menthe cake square, their cake of the day. Everything was tasty. On the way out, I stopped at the nap and bought 2 pieces of cake to take with me.More

I first went into Strossner's to get a quiche. I found myself in a bakery of undisputed beauty. The cakes, the pastries, and yes the quiche. I went back with a friend for their lunch, and we were in our glory. Wonderful quiche, fresh fruit...and a roll, for under $9. Everything is delicious.More

Strossner’s is like Panera but far better in quality and value. Half of the building is a full scale bakery and the other half is their cafe. Ordering is fast and friendly and in the time we walked to the pick up area, are order...was done. We both had the Chicken Pot Pie which came with a delicious roll, small salad and two cheese biscuits. It was all very good and filling and only $8. Lunch took less than a half hour. The cakes and bakery looked great too. We will definitely return.More

My best friend had a Ham and Cheese Quiche and Tossed Salad delivered to my home. We LOVE quiche but this one was lacking in ham. It was more like a plain cheese quiche. Very disappointed. The tossed salad was okay but way too much...greenery. Could have used more of the tomatoes and cucumbers. Good amount of cheese! Overall, VERY thankful and VERY appreciative for the order but we have had better quiche. From eating here in the past, I will say that their chicken pot pie is very good!More

This was our first time at Strossner's. Due to the no sit-in dining because of the CORVID-19, we ordered a take out lunch. The lunch consisted of a Classic Club, potato chips, Beef Barley Soup, and Apple pie. The Classic Club was good although it...was slightly dry. The bread of the club was excellent. Two small cookies and. a small piece of cake were included in the club meal along with two small tomatoes and a dill pickle. The small cookies seemed bland at first, however, after a few seconds there was a wonderful taste to the cookies. The cake was excellent as it was moist and very appealing to the taste buds. The beef barley soup was excellent as it wasn't too salty and there was sufficient amount of beef and b barley in the broth. This is definitely a restaurant from which I would order more meals. For a drink I had lemonade. It was wonderful. While I don't know how they made the lemonade, it sure tasted like it was freshly squeezed and very tangy. One of the best lemonades I have ever had. Kudos to the chef and staff at Strossner's. This was definitely worth the 50 minutes drive to Greenville and the restaurant.More

I gave one star but I would give less if possible. I will break my review into two pieces. A) Food: The cakes are frequently dry. On more than one occasion the cake has tasted like it was possibly frozen, like one of those Pepperidge...Farm cakes you get at the grocery store. On my most recent visit, the cake was not only dry but the icing was so pasty that it actually didn't stick to the cake...so it would fall off the cake piece when you picked it up. Think of school paste in terms of consistency but a little more firm. B) Customer Service: I recently dropped by and asked to purchase an empty cake box because I was competing in a father/son cake baking contest for Boy Scouts. I was denied a box by the manager. Apparently they're afraid to see someone else's cake in their box. Bad for branding. I tried to reason with them..9yo son, Boy Scouts, I’ll cross out the logo, no one cares about a box, it's just so I can carry the cake, etc. Nope. No box. No matter the price I offered to pay. I went across town to The Bakery on Augusta and asked for a box. Not only did they GIVE me a box, they asked my son questions about the cake, gave him some candy to go on the cake to spruce it up, and legitimately seemed interested in our project. This review isn't about the Augusta Bakery but I can't say enough about how they treated us kindly but also about how good their cakes/treats are. Please consider supporting their business instead of falling for a fancy name/building like Strossner's. You won’t be sorry. FWIW my son and I won our cake contest. I'm so glad I didn't disrespect our cake by putting it in a Strossner's box. Would have been bad branding for OUR cake.More
