Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our first time (and wont be the last) My partner and I are lovers of fine cuisine. He being first generation Sicilian and me being Irish (of the Clan O'Brien. We love all cuisines. We walked in the restaurant not knowing what to expect. WOW,the...place was crowded. Especially at the bar. We were seated at a booth at the bar. The bar was full of my age bracket of ladies and gentlemen who seemed to each other. Birthday was being celebrated and this was an occasion that was common at the restaurant. We started w an appetizer of portobello mushrooms sauteed and baked w cheese. We ordered a bottle of sicilian wine and my partner ordered the Eggplant Parmigian. I ordered the Chicken Draconcello. We immediately devoured the medallions of fantastic portobello mushrooms. The salad came and i thought it was cole slaw but a little stirring and a fantastic italian salad emerged w a fantastic combination of lettuce, tomayoe, chic peas, and homemade dressing. The main course came and all i can say is my Chicken Draconcello was unbelievable. The hint of tarragon paired in the sauce was amazing. The chicken was so tender it could melt in my mouth. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The rolls served in a dredger of butter, well as a lover of butter, i was in love. My partners Eggplant was, superb. We couldnt finish. The portions are enough for two so we,took home the remainder. Well u thought this, review, was over BUT...Dessert... I opted for a chocolate martini... My partner opted for a cake. In concluding, after meeting the owner "when they let him, Brett was fantastic, the waiter also gets,a shout out. Thank you Brett and the staff of PORTOFINO.'SMore

I have a hard time even giving this restaurant one star. We had a family of 5, 2 kids & 3 adults. Ordered pizza, manicotti, ziti, ravioli, spaghetti & meatballs. 5 out of 5 meals were disgusting. How can you mess up pasta. The pasta...was like it was thawed out & sat in water till served on the plate. The ravioli pasta was thick with tiny amount of filling. The meatballs had a weird smell like they sat out to long unrefrigerated. The salad that was served with the meal that we had read so many raving reviews on was like leftover lettuce at the bottom of a salad bowl. The waitress was very on top of things, so much she told us she had to clear the salad plates (while we were eating) cause our meal would be out soon. This is not Italian. We could not wait to leave 🤢More

Simply the best. Doesn’t matter what you order. I’m from NY (not my fault) but I do know great real deal Italian food. This family knows what they’re doing. Anything you order will be amazing. It’s that simple.

I ordered a dish that I have had before and enjoyed so I had high expectations. It came to our table cold, pasta was tough and chicken was inedible. The waitress asked if I needed a box and I told her it was not up...to par. She asked what was wrong with it. I told her and she just walked away. When she brought our check she had taken the dish off so we were not charged but no apology. This restaurant used to offer great food and wonderful service but we did not experience that this visit. Don't think we will go back.More

Our first time and pleased overall. I was especially impressed with the reasonable prices. It's great that they haven't gone up like everywhere else! Our bill only came to $37, which I find very very reasonable. I got the chicken broccoli alfredo. It was good....It had a distinctive taste that I can't quite put my finger on. My husband guesses it was white wine and once he said that, I think that's exactly what it was. It was just a little too much (of whatever it was). If it had been any more, it would have changed my total opinion of the dish. The dish needs less of whatever it was. My hubby got the chicken parm and was pleased. He didn't eat most of the spaghetti that came with it, although he didn't complain. So I guess he was just full. The salad was good. The bread wasn't quite as good as I thought it would be based on all the good reviews I had read about it but not bad at all. We were glad we tried this place and will most likely come back.More

Ann & I are semi regulars, we feel Portofinos now has the best Italian food around! Friday night we loved our drinks at the bar followed by very tasty salad, enough to take home. Then an awesome plate of spaghetti & meatsause & meatball, then...Ann’s dish of chicken piccata with capers were just outstanding . Our leftovers confirmed the great quality & taste again tonight. We loved two meals of the outstanding food tastily done by the chef. Thank you!! We’ll soon be back for more! Enjoyed the bar seat and Monica as our waitress Ann & Paul BatsonMore

Had dinner here based on proximity and recommendation of our hotel. Casual Italian restaurant and informal service located in a small shopping plaza. Enjoyed the family style salad and garlic rolls. The main courses are sizable with straight forward presentations. Particularly enjoyed the Scarpariello with...pesto. The service was friendly and attentive.More

We haven't been here in a while, but we were glad to see nothing has changed. The atmosphere is great, the service is terrific and of course the food was delicious. I strongly recommend making reservations because of how good everything is.

We hadn't been to Portofino's in ages but decided to have dinner there before New Yeers. WE arrived early and there were surprised to find this restaurant almost full. We were escorted to a booth with drapes so there was no spilling over of conversation...from some other people dining. Very cozy and private. Our waiter was excellent, anticipating our needs. I ordered the Saltimbocca as I love to experiment. My wife played it safe and ordered lasagna. Both dinners were excellent! The veal was tender and juicy. Exactly as I expected. The salad and garlic knots only addd to the feast. The check was very reasonable and the service excellent. We just had to leave a huge tip. We'll be back again.More

I made reservations so we could meet some friends and talk. When we arrived, we were seated in a booth next to a table set up for 16 people. Yup, they all soon arrived with small children for their meal. They also had live music....So if we wanted to talk across the table, we had to yell. Not what I was expecting. The service was excellent and the food was pretty good. I had the seafood trio that came with a garlic sauce which was way overpowering. They were busy for a Thursday night which is a good thing to see as so many restaurants are going out of business. I would suggest to the management two things. When you have a party of 5 adults coming in for dinner, don’t seat them at a booth. Three adults on one side is a tight fit. A table would be much better. The second thing is lower the volume of your music. People like to take when eating out and with the music that loud, it isn’t good for conversation. You’re not a sports bar, your a family restaurant.More

Wife and I are visiting and this was really close to our hotel. She had the eggplant parm and I had the baked ziti. Both were very good, and portions were big. We each had a drink too - wine for her and the "peach...blossom" for me. Very tasty. The big star of the meal had to be the garlic rolls they bring before dinner - out of this world! Oh, and you get a salad too, which was very good. Server, "Sommer", was a sweetheart too.More
