We are rewards club members and usually love this place but this time was disappointing-too many mistakes. On 6/20/2021(Fathers Day) we spent over $400.00 on our table. Our wait person was wonderful and attentive but the food fell short-too many mistakes from the kitchen, the chef needed to tweak his ingredients, understand his spices better and not overuse them! The oriental shrimp noodle bowl was so spicy our daughter couldn't eat it and when the manager came out to apologize, she offered her the SAME soup in a take home container, which our daughter said was pretty pointless, since its TOO SPICY! They ended up not charging us for it though. She has had that soup in the past which was NOT spicy and because of a stomach condition, she ordered it again but the broth this time was over the top too hot.
We also ordered two molten lava cakes which came with zero "molten lava" inside, our son in law asked to substitute a side salad for the asparagus with his prime rib and was charged an extra $5.00 for getting cheaper lettuce instead of the more expensive asparagus, and the tomato soup had a weird flavor to it, again with the spice overuse. One last observation is the decrease in portions. Everyone noticed their food portions had been reduced. Then when we got home and looked at the bill closer, our &20.00 in rewards previously earned had not been applied, even though the rewards card had been presented at the beginning of the order.This was our favorite place but if this continues, we will be shopping around for a new favorite place.
Plus side: pleasant desk&phone staff, good wait staff, nice decor-the food experience just needed to match.

The wife and I stopped here for lunch today (8/15/20) after furniture shopping. I had the Pub burger and the wife had the Brewski burger. These were two of the best restaurant burgers we've ever had. Both were cooked medium, were very juicy and the pretzel bun was off the chain!!!!! The fries were golden brown, crispy on the outside and wonderful on the inside. Now, I'm a huge Imperial Stout fan, so the Chocolate Stout was quite a treat to have with lunch. And our server, Jennifer, was very pleasant and actually suggested our burgers since this was our first time visiting. We'll definitely be back for another visit.

We have been customers of Iron Hill since it opened and we always thought that the food was good as was the service and the price. Oops no more. Tonight we had a reservation for a booth in the bar and when we got there the table neede to be cleaned. Fifthteen minutes later it was still not cleaned and so we took a booth in the rear by the kitchen. We were seated with menus. The spirits menu immediately revealed that the wine was definitely a cheaper blend but was almost double the cost of the better wine. Restaurant business rule one.........Don't sell cheap wine at a more inflated price then the previous better wine for less......Customers do remember.
The food was ok. The server had friends in the booth behind us and they got excellence service. In the restaurant business, we should all be treated as best friends. When I asked for the bill, I was given the bill. Upon cursory review, our $20.00 Iron Hill reward, which we earned, was not evident on our bill. I asked the server where the $20.00 reward was deducted. She said that it was not automatically deducted and we had to ask for it.........I told her that we wanted the $20.00 deducted from the bill. At that point, I said to my wife that we were done with iron hill. Inflated wine prices for inferior wine, just ok food and fair service. Hire for your business to keep a satisfied clientel. And it appears that you have to ask specially for the iron hill reward because they are obviously not happy that you are getting a sum off your bill

My husband and I have eaten at Iron Hill several times, but tonight was a disappointment. I ordered the half roasted chicken, what received was about the size of half a capon and certainly lacking it’s description of “ crispy skin.” It was bland, dry, and the skin was gummy. I asked my waitress if I could order something different. The manager came with a menu and attempted to steer me towards an appetizer or a sandwich. Did she not realize I was eating a dinner entree? I looked in the same section I had ordered the chicken from and ordered the salmon. It was very good. However, I was surprised a little to see we had been charged the full price for the salmon. I don’t know why the manager even got involved. I didn’t ask for her. I honestly think they should have comped my meal. There are way too many restaurants in Greenville to have a subpar experience at one and return.

Our displeasure on this visit was simple. The server attempted to "upcharge" for a simple substitution of a side item for an entree which we knew it had been allowed in the past. After a bit of discussion, my wife changed her order out of frustration. When a manager delivered our entrees, we asked why they had changed their policy and the manager said the policy had not been changed and that the server said we had asked to substitute with a different entree. So - either the server lied to the manager or was not listening to us when we repeated the question twice. It is probably the latter as the server never looked at us, never smiled, looked out the window when at the table. Then, NEVER checked on us again for drinks until our meal had been completed. In short, the server's attitude was surly and it will be a long time before we return to this restaurant. Honest errors can be quickly overlooked, but bad attitudes are not soon forgotten or forgiven. Too many other good places to enjoy a meal.

Before the pandemic this was my favorite local restaurant. Always good food and service. I've now been 3 times this month and each time was more disappointed.
The menu seems to have added a lot of "odd" flavorings etc. to their standard fare with way too much strong cheese choices and things that seem to be added not for flavor but for fashion.
But, most disappointing of all is the quality. The basic spinach/strawberry salad was rather wet - water in the bottom of the bowl both times - and just a big helping of raw spinach with minimal sliced strawberries.
Last night I ordered a basic hamburger and a "side" of grilled asparagus. The $6 side consisted on 6 undercooked random pieces of asparagus on the plate. Half was edible but half was tough and stringy. Not even close to a portion of veg even if it had been edible.
The others in my group seemed happy enough except for the other salad person.
Nobody asked how our meal was or if we needed or wanted anything else.
Off my list for now.

Over the past year we've come here about four. The atmosphere here is still very pleasant. My friends and I really enjoy the outdoor seating and the service is good. Usually the food is good , too. But this last time there were definite problems with our selections. Two of us got the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken therein was so overcooked it looked and tasted like it had been recooked. One of us got a salad with chicken that was also overcooked and dry. My dish was the best of the lot. I got the chicken pot pie and the taste of it was quite nice, though light on the chicken and heavy on the potatoes. A better crust and it would have been perfect. The crust was tough. It needs a lighter hand in the making.

Our group of ladies that lunch has been to Iron Hill several. It has been a favorite of ours for the large and comfortable outdoor patio, a nice dining option when the weather co-operates. We've also enjoyed the food. This time two of us got the fried chicken sandwich which is usually juicy, crispy, and just about perfect. But the juice had been cooked out of this offering to our great disappointment and the fries that came with it were dried out, too. My hamburger was just average. rather flavorless. The last of our number was very satisfied with her choice--a wedge salad and onion soup, both delicious.

The place is conveniently located downtown, in the old state hospital area. If convenience is important you may like it, if quality of food and service is important might not. We were sat promptly upon arriving. The restaurant was half empty. I ordered a beer, it was flat… odd for a brewery. It was replaced with another beer which was ok. Our apps were Croissants, Fried Brussel Sprouts and Fried Green tomatoes. Of the three the only one worth the price is the Fried Green Tomatoes, and they were pretty tasty. The Brussel sprouts were under seasoned. The flavor toppings they say they use were undetectable. The fried Brussel sprout crumbs had burnt fries in the mix. The croissants were stiff, seem old. Not light and fluffy as you would expect. It comes with Honey orange butter I’m pretty sure we just got regular butter. The entrees were Fish and Chips, chicken wraps and Tuscan pizza. Fish and chips were served with cold fries, no tarter. Our waitress was MIA so I asked a different waitress to bring hot fries and tartar sauce, she promptly did so. The chicken wraps, were ok nothing to write about. The flatbread pizza was also ok. Our waitress seem to be MIA often and when not was sitting at a booth chatting with other waitress staff. Needless to say, service was poor. I will probably not come back for awhile. They clearly need some new management… to many wait staff doing nothing. I would attempt again though no time soon… hopefully they will improve.

The service was excellent! Initially I thought service was slow, then I realized that they want you to enjoy a ‘dining experience.’ Everyone ordered different meals but we all enjoyed our food. The wings were cooked and flavored perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

I enjoyed the Tex-Mex Egg rolls for my meal while my husband enjoyed a Char-grilled Flank Steak. Both were well served and delicious. Only thing was my husband's french fries were soggy when put on same plate as the steak. Yuck. I did enjoy a custom Root Beer and Husband enjoyed a Vienna Red.

The facility is very nice, but the value of food to price is not. The first selection we made was for the salmon burger and we were told that the kitchen hadn't had time to prep this yet. (1pm in the afternoon?) There's nothing under $15-$16, and in my opinion, it's over priced

The beer selection was great as you would expect. As an IPA lover, I was not disappointed. My daughter wanted to sample a sour. The waitress brought the sample as well another sample that she thought my daughter might enjoy. A really thoughtful touch that was really appreciated! Something you remember about a place. My wife ordered the OMG BLT and absolutely loved it. I tried the Asian Salmon Burger with roasted potatoes as the side. The combination of the salmon with the pickled vegetables and ginger along with the wasabi soy mayo was a perfect accompaniment. I asked them to leave off the cucumber. The roasted potatoes were good but even better when I dipped into the sauces served with my wife’s sweet potato fries. Loved this place!

We have dined here a number of times since it opened some years ago. Usually for lunch. Generally the food and service have been good. Of course they have interesting beer selections. Unfortunately our recent lunch experience was not good. First of all, after being seated our server ignored us for about 15 minutes while she socialized with another table. I had to get the attention of another staff member to get some service. When my burger finally arrived it was not as ordered and the fries were cold. Maybe this was just an "off day" ? We'll probably give them another try at some point but not for a while.

First timer. Dropped in on the way to GA. It was awesome and refreshing. It’s a huge place inside . Lots of space to sit and eat/drink. There is also space outside to sit . Very neatly maintained and they follow covid protocols . Saw those big brews inside . Loved their Juicy IPa varieties. Was so good … I loved sweet leaf and grove fresh ipas. Very cheap too (as compared to NYNJ). Got a growler for 4$ … and filled it up for about 14$.. a 4 pack brew will cost me just 12$. Nice customer service … overall liked it …
