Our first time visiting this Ruth's Chris and our last. Hard to write a review like this when we have had great experiences at other Ruth's Chris in the past. The service is nothing short of brutal. Highlights, waiting 10+ minutes to be acknowledged by the server, waiting again for drinks to be served, dinner arriving and delivered by the busboy with no sign of the server, dinner complete, waited 10 minutes for server (who was talking to the front desk), dishes never cleared from table, waited 10+ minutes for check and no attempt to offer dessert, etc. No sign of a manager to ask about our experience or food. Clearly understaffed - only person that made an effort was the assistant server/busboy. My bone in filet was barely rare 1" in, ordered medium. The only seasoning was salt and a lot of it. This was a $89 steak. In fairness, my wife enjoyed her filet. Sides were just OK. But again, no one seemed to care. For a $230 tab service should knock you out. We have been to dozens of high end steakhouses, this was brutal.

I apologize that your first visit with us in Greenville was such a disappointment in comparison to the Ruth's Chris experiences you are used to. There are no excuses for the inattentiveness that you received throughout service, as well as the lack of concern shown toward your dinner in general. Over the years my husband and I have been to many Ruth Chris restaurants, and all have been wonderful until this nightmare. We made a New Years Eve dinner reservation at this location next to the hotel on Congaree. We were all dressed up and ready for a nice steak dinner to celebrate bringing in the New Years. Upon arrival we were told that they were running "a bit behind", which we assumed might be 10 or 15 minutes given the busy holiday evening. We sat in the waiting area near the bar and had a glass of wine. Our assumed 15-minute wait turned into 30 minutes and then 45 minutes. We continually asked about the status of our "reservation" and were told more than once that they had "no clue" when our table might be ready. We waited over ONE HOUR and then decided we were no longer willing to drop big money for a meal after this type of horrible customer service. Management never offered to pick up our drinks, never offered any courtesy updates or even apologies for the nightmare. The restaurant could have called us before we ever left home to explain that the wait time would be in excess of one hour past our reserved time. We are shocked at the lack of common respect to patrons at an upscale restaurant such as Ruth Chris. Don't ever try this place as management is obviously poor at this location. There are many great steak places in the Greenville area BUT this is not one of them. I would have noted 0 stars if I could.

Thank you for your candid review. I'm definitely disappointed to know that your recent visit to our restaurant fell short of our standards. Regardless of business levels, you should still receive the service & timeliness of seating that you have come to expect from previous visits. Although New Year's Eve is one of our busiest holidays, there are no excuses for the extreme delays you encountered, as well as the lack of hospitality and recovery efforts from our team. Went for the Thanksgiving feast. Very disappointed. Service was poor, disorganized and insufficient…took much too long for placing an order and getting the food. Then upon ordering they pushed the regular menu rather than the Thanksgiving menu. You would think a special holiday would have some sparkle. This was a dud. Turkey was the packaged loaf kind…not from a roasted turkey. Sides (mashed potatoes, dressing, cranberry sauce and sweet potato soufflé) were nothing more than a small ice cream scoop in size. Dessert was very small and appeared prepared well in advance. Will look elsewhere for next year.

We went for my birthday. Carried two first timers with us.Restaurant met and exceeded all of our expections plus..Four of us had very good service and outstanding food.Of course we highly recommend this restaurant.

Normally, any Ruth’s Chris is amazing, however, we were disappointed with this location. We ordered a seafood tower. In the past, we have gotten them from other places like The Grove Park Inn, The Oyster House in Charleston, and The Capital Grille in Seattle so we had high expectations. The seafood was overcooked and had no seasoning. The shrimp were okay , just no seasoning. The lobster was like rubber. You could hardly pull it out the shell. We ate what we could and I pointed out to the waitress that it was overcooked. The chef told her different people have different tastes. I disagree! No one likes bland, overcooked, rubbery seafood! The steaks and other sides we ordered were great and our waitress did a good job. I will not return to this location. There are too many other fantastic restaurants in Greenville.

Mickey at the bar is your best bar tender! I ordered a Sazerac that is hard to find made correctly. Mickey knew exactly how to make it and is very knowledgeable! I have only found two places in the last 10 years around the US that makes these correctly and now there are three places. I’ll be back

We visited Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on our way to our niece’s wedding. We wanted to splurge and treat ourselves to a great meal. It was the BIGGEST disappointment. Though the filet mignon was amazing, everything else was downright not edible. The fries and crispy onions were fried in rancid oil. They smelled bad and tasted gross. The salad was a tower of blue cheese with a few silvers of lettuce and 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half.

We were able to celebrate Mothers Day this past weekend at their Sunday Brunch. We were impressed with choices offered and were equally as impressed with the quality of the dishes we ordered. We want to compliment our waiter, Travis, in particular. He gave helpful suggestions, honest opinions and tremendous service! My husband and I said we would for sure ask for him next time we visit!

We were celebrating Valentine's on the 15 instead of the 14! When we arrived there was no hostess at the front desk. We waited for quite a while. Even walked over to the bar area. Finally, she returned and seated us. Chandler, our server was amazing! So friendly, helpful, and just such a delight! We were immediately served bread, which was delicious! We order a couple of drinks and were served quickly. We then ordered onion rings as an appetizer. They were so big. I wish they had been smaller, but they were very good! We could not eat them all so Chandler put them in a to go box. We then ordered the 3 course meal on the last page of the menu. We both ordered the salmon and house salad. He got broccoli as a side and I had the garlic mashed potatoes. We also ordered the Lobster Mac n Cheese. Chandler then served us a complimentary order of crab cakes. Everything was delicious!! We then got our personal dessert, Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake. Absolutely fantastic! We also had to get a to go box for the Lobster Mac n Cheese. This is a great place for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere is quite, which I loved. It is a little on the expensive side, but so worth it...just not every day! Thanks Chandler for helping make our visit here so wonderful!!

Had made a reservation over a month prior - Anniversary - requesting a side table. A planned overnighter at the co-located Crowne Plaza. When arriving, the 'hostess' provided a blank stare as to our request. In turn, offered table #43 which was in the main thoroughfare, stating that it was the only one available, unless we wanted to sit in the bar area. Interestingly, with 5 - 10 minutes other couples were being seated interior / side tables! One of two saving graces was our server Chandler, the other, the food. With the table in the 'runway' the other annoyance was the 'table control' women on an I-Pad up against the wall a few feet way talking......... As to a recognition of our Anniversary -- No. Seating request made over a month prior - No. Return to this Chris Ruth - No. Last 6 months; downtown Greenville - Yes. Asheville - Yes.

Our family of 5 had a reservation for a Christmas dinner. We expected a top notch experience from this “fine dining” establishment. Instead, we got an awful service and hit and miss food. The place look dingy with dirty looking carpet. The bathrooms were dirty with overflowing garbage bins. We waited forever for our drinks. Then we had to remind our waitress to get us more water, and she completely forgot to bring my husband a soda. She did not observe the right order of taking orders, leaving our elderly mother for last, where she should had been first. Their fried calamari were disgusting. Fried to a crisp, we couldn’t even put a fork in it. The steaks were bloody regarding ordering medium well. My bass was pretty good, though. Roasted Brussels sprouts were ok. Caesar salads too garlicky. Overall, for $600 bill this was a huge disappointment. At least the wine was good.

We went to celebrate my birthday and it was great. We had our own little cove to dine in. It felt so special because the staff was awesome and attentive and great atmosphere.

Reservation for 6 for 730pm tonight. Business owners and retired military with their family. 5 of the 6 diners were 1st time customers. Wasn't busy and now I know why. Burnt steaks remade by the time the party was done eating. There were excuses about training a new chef and the gm acted indifferent towards me when asked how a $65 steak leaves the kitchen burnt. Your failure not mine. Yelled at told to leave. I wouldn't eat here if it was free much less a place considered to be a high end steak house. Outback or longhorns cheaper and better service. I'll repost this review to every site and guide available. Maybe they should be worried about how slack the employees are or how dead the place was on a Saturday night. I hope they improve but I'll never visit this location for any reason.
