Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pomegranate is one of the best restaurants in Greenville. It has been consistently excellent for years. This is saying a lot because I am unaware of a city the size of Greenville with as vibrant a restaurant scene. I think the restaurants here rival cities...twice our size. Since 2012 we've dined there on an annual basis. The owners, husband and wife, have an awesome story. You can taste their passion and love for Persian food and desserts in each dish. The staff are very attentive and want to ensure you have the best experience. I have had most of the items on the menu and there is nothing I wouldn't order again. They also have a few non-Persian dishes, if you have less adventurous eaters in your group. Mixing starters is a great way to begin your dining experience and savor the tastes of Persia. I'm particularly fond of the lamb here, but the other meats are also good and their combinations allow for trying multiple options. Mrs. Saifi makes many of the desserts herself and you can taste her love of her craft in every bite.More

Food was spectacular as having great taste as well as great healthy choices. I would definitely come back for dinner. My wife loved it more for her limited choices. Here, she had many choices that would bring her back for more.

My friends and I enjoy meals prepared by different cultures. Pomegranate provides some very good Persian food. We started with a sampler of three appetizers - hummus, eggplant and spinach. These came with pitas and a side plate with basil, radish, feta and butter. Our...dinners were the skewered chicken, roasted salmon and a special with lamb & shrimp. All dishes were wonderfully prepared. The service was great and the atmosphere inviting.More

Recommended by Tony at Wellborn Winery. Love Mediterranean food and Pomegranate on Main did not disappoint. Vegan options allowed us to cater to the whole family.

Delicious food and excellent service, with very reasonable prices! It's also in a great location. We strolled in the park before lunch and then attended a matinee show at the Peace Center after lunch. Reservations recommended!

Wow! After all the raves and accolades, we were not that taken with this venue. Surprisingly, food was a bit bland, and the blaring music made it difficult to have a conversation. Waiter explained that the restaurant doesn't have control over the volume between the...bar/dining room and patio. Given the size of the crowd, guess folks are nevertheless attached anyway.More

Had a wonderful dinner at this popular restaurant. Sat outside on a recent midweek evening and thoroughly enjoyed my grouper dinner with wine. Served with a lobster sauce, dirty rice, and vegetables. Good size portion; felt that the value was there for the $33 charged...for the grouper. Excellent waitress, live music, nice atmosphere.More

We got in quickly. Waiter served water but didn't offer any other drinks. Husband had to stop him and ask for his beverage. We got Meal for 2 including 2 appetizers, 3 kabobs - shrimp, chicken and lamb, 2 rices. Appetizers were tasty. Seasonings were...different but good. Rices were mild flavored and ok. However, lamb and chicken were both dried out and tough. Overcooked for sure. A disappointment as I love lamb and that was my main reason for wanting to go there. Had Persian ice cream. It was ok. Not highly flavored. Atmosphere was very noisy. Brick interior needs more sound absorbing ceiling.More

Two couples dined here for our second visit each. The general environs ruined what might have been a great meal. The salmon and shrimp were outstanding. The Persian Breakfast starter was also excellent. The saffron chicken was too dry and a little tough - obviously...overcooked to a degree. The key factor leading to a poor experience was the ambience. I short, it was hot enough that it caused us to perspire. We asked staff to turn the air temp lower but were told that is the best the system can do. A restaurant of this caliber and price range should have decent air conditioning. In addition, it was very dark in the restaurant even though it was still daylight outside. Simple use of white table clothes would have dramatically improved the ambience and feeling in the restaurant. In short, poor environment ruined an otherwise good meal. If they know the HVAC does not work well they should repair it or warn you upon arrival.More

If you are going there for an extensive beer list, probably not a good choice. Their draw is the great menu with Persian food. They have beer, liquor and wine, but the real attraction is their food.
