Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very Best Thai in South Carolina! This is our favorite restaurant for Thai food in all of Greenville, SC. I lived in the Far East for 2 years and visited Bangkok many times. For over 30 years this restaurant has been our favorite for Thai food...plus they offer beer or wine at very reasonable prices, which is impossible to find at other resturants. The choices of dishes is extensive and always well prepared and with a sliding scale of 0 to 10+ for spice heat .level. The chiefs have changed over the 33 years of course, but the last change was very well planned over the course of more than a year, as the menu choices are HUGE! We do dinners, but they have also very reasonable lunch choices. Thai food is very dependant on the quality of the raw ingredients, especially the fish, and they have always delivered outstandingly as well. Try 3 buddies some time for a complete meal which incudes a very special Thai salad!

We visit this restaurant at least twice a month. They have the best Thai food in town and are one of the few that still customizes spice levels. Excellent dumplings. Excellent curry dishes. Excellent noodle dishes. We are making our way through tasting the menu and so far love the flavors.

Had a great lunch here today with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. The food was really good. I had shrimp pad Thai and the others had stir fry and curry. The spring roll were very nice. Great choice.

We stopped here after not wanting to eat anymore fast and fried food! The food was tasty and fresh and the staff was wonderful! Would return if ever in the area again.

We are connoisseurs of Hot and Sour soup...literally!! We have traveled to Europe, the Caribbean, Asia and of course Coast-to-Coast. From the best to the worst our palates have tasted them all. Until recently we gave Bangkok of Tokyo our highest marks in atmosphere, service, food quality and price and then something changed. Food quality particularly the soup hit an all time low. We always chose Thai hot and I always opt for the vegan recipe with steamed Tofu. Our most recent order had raw vegetables no mushrooms and they over compensated with the spicy seasoning. It was a disastrous! We had a few other inconsistencies in the past but management made things right so decided against online reviews. A decline in any categories suggests a change in management or kitchen personnel. We had no choice but to share our views with potential diners. Unfortunately, this puts in the market again for a restaurant that offers our favorite soup.

This place is wonderful. The setting is just right (thematically appropriate but not chichi), the prices are better than reasonable and the food manages to balance the words in the title of this review—it’s both subtle and flavorful. The tom kha gai is the best I’ve found hereabouts, the salads and entrees are delightful and the owner and her staff welcoming. This is one of those restaurants to which I go at least thrice monthly, and so far have wanted only to return more frequently.

Wow what a tasty delight, never had to wait to be seated at a restaurant for lunch before but after receiving our food I completely understand why, so so good, service was good but considering they were short handed they did great.. Food: Amazing, Service: Good, Cleanliness: Very Good, Decor: Very Good Background Music: Calming... All in all a wonderful experience, will be back, Dinner next Time... Highly recommend...

I ordered the red curry entree. You select the protein and the level of spice. I went with chicken and 6 out of 10 spice. It was piping hot when I picked it up to go. It smelled awesome! And when I started eating I didn’t realize I was moaning until my coworker looked at me strangely and said, ‘ you are REALLY enjoying that!’ The vegetables and basil leaves were so fresh. The sauce scrumptious. A week later I went back and ordered the green curry with extra rice for my leftovers. I also got the Kanom Jeap steamed dumplings. Oh and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Great takeout experience. I need to go back soon!

Happy is the feeling you get when you walk in. On a Friday night it was not crowded and we had a choice (!) of tables. The menu offers curries of several kinds, stir fries, the classic noodle dishes and a long list of sushi. They even had wings for an appetizer, so we ordered some for the die-hard diner-food lover among us. (The mildest sauce tastes like barbecue sauce.) Everyone enjoyed his/her dish and we needed boxes because portions are generous. The folks were visiting find Bangkok to be consistently tasty. And they consider it one of the healthier choices in Greenville dining.

I was excited to try Bangkok Tokyo when I saw they opened. Sadly the experience was lacking at best. The wait staff was very attentive up until the time we placed out order, however after the food arrived, we didn't see them again. No recheck to ask how everything was, no refills on drinks, just crickets. The food was bland and unremarkable. Also every dish has almost the exact same ingredients. It's as if they use the same vegetable mixture and then add a protein, choose rice or noodles and then slap on a sauce. Very disappointing. And for a restaurant with Thai on the menu, the flavor profile was bland and lacked any type of umami. Even the spice tray was lacking - how can Thai Bird Chilies in Vinegar have no kick to them? Save your money and go to one of the other great Thai places in town - some right down the street.

My husband told me her enjoys lunch here occasionally but I had never been. We arrived on the early side and were seated right away. The waitress was friendly and very helpful in ordering. I had the Thai Fried Rice and decided to play it cautiously and had a level 3 in regards to heat. I was happy with that call as it had just enough spice without overdoing it. Pattaya with a level 5, which he was also happy with that spice level. We both really liked our dish! I will definitely be back!

Greenville's best kept secret offers healthy, fresh Thai cuisine. The soups are some of the best you will find anywhere. For dinner, try the King of the Sea which includes a generous variety of seafood including lobster tail, shrimp, squid and mussels over rice and fresh vegetables.

There on a Saturday night where the rest of our party (3) ordered directly off the board or the menu. I had one of the best gluten free specials of the night (duck) with a most knowledgeable waiter. I can't wait to go back for lunch.

Tried this place for lunch. Service was good, food was good. It's not quite 4 stars, but its better than average. I had the pepper steak stir fry and it was good. Plenty of menu options to keep you going back. The mushroom and chicken soup (coconut based) was very good. Service was very good. I'll go back to sample their menu.
