Mario’s came highly recommended to me by my best friend. Last weekend we were out celebrating his birthday and I suggested dinner at Mario’s on his previous recommendation. I had been wanting to check it out since he first told me about it. I am a huge pizza guy. I’ve had pizza from coast to coast and border to border in this great country. Quite frankly, pizza could be my whole way of life if not for my wife! We drove to the Edgefield town square, which is very cool! Imagine going to a place where everyone gathers for fun, and that is the town square in Edgefield, SC. As we walked into Mario’s Pizza, it was almost like walking into a NY eatery. The atmosphere is so welcoming, comfortable and just puts you at ease. Our party was greeted and seated quickly. Drink orders were taken and after drinks arrived, appetizers and entrees were ordered. We had arrived very early for dinner and so the restaurant was sparsely populated. That changed fast! It was not long before musician Tim Barnett arrived and began to set up. The garlic knots and the stuffed mushrooms were delicious starters. When the pizza came I was a bit skeptical, the crust seemed to have a different texture than I am used to. To my surprise the crust had great texture and taste all the way through each bite. Sauce was just right, not overpowering, not too sweet or bitter. We ordered the “Meathead” and the “Dragged Through The Garden” (vegetarian) pizzas. Wow, the flavors were spot on, portioned well with toppings and overall just great pizza! Great food, great service, great atmosphere and music was great as well; it added to our dining experience. Overall I’m thankful for the introduction to this little hole in the wall in Edgefield, SC. It will definitely become part of our future dining repertoire.

Mario's Pizzeria

We went to Mario's Pizzeria for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Stopped in for a drink at the bar. If you haven't been there, the bar and dining room looks incredible, definitely professionally done. We started with the lemon pepper wings! So good! Also got an order of the french fries, light and crispy just how I like them too! We then ordered the Kicking Chicken Pizza. Crust was really good, a lot of toppings and cheese too! Just enough of a bite with the jalapeños. Service was really good too! Great place to check out in downtown Edgefield

Great experience at Mario's Pizzeria - Edgefield, SC

Went to Mario's Pizzeria in Edgefield and were really surprised! We haven't been to Edgefield in years, it was a cute little downtown but there was not much to do there. We found Marios from a post on Facebook and wanted to check it out. It was a really cool place with updated interior with the cool exposed brick walls. They have a really nice bar area too! We were there on a weekend so they had a local musician on a stage up front. What we didn't realize was that they had roll up doors so they could be opened up on nice evenings! We ordered a couple of drinks, there were a good amount of beer and wine choices. The server recommended several appetizers so we ordered the meatballs and they came with garlic bread. I haven't had home made meatballs that good! We ordered a pesto pizza too and Oh my! it was just incredible! Fresh pizza crust and fresh pesto and the cheese was incredible too. We also didnt know they had desserts too. The desserts are made by a local bakery right around the corner. Thank you Mario's Pizzeria for such a wonderful experience and creating new energy in Edgefield, SC

Excellent food and service!!! What a cool place too! Great atmosphere! Super clean! Awesome bar too! I recommend the 10 governors pizza! So good! Will be back for sure!

Delicious! Pesto Nino pizza was what I had and I really enjoyed it. First time visiting this restaurant but won’t be the last. Live music was great too.
