Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I stopped by Five Points before closing and bought a few pastries plus a latte. Everything was DELISH!

My brother drove 20 minutes to get our family croissants. He went through traffic and construction to get them. Why? Because usually, this bakery does an A+ job. This morning - the croissants he brought us were stale. They had to have been day-old. These...are the kinds of croissants they give homeless people in Paris. Yes, the homeless there eat better than people living in $600,000.00 houses in nice parts of Pittsburgh. No, I'm not hyperbolic. So, my question to the bakery is this - do you sell day-old stale croissants or is your quality going down? Which one is it? We don't even mind paying the big prices or going through traffic for high-quality. But this morning was not acceptable. By the time you get home - it's too late to turn around and demand a refund. I'm getting worried that this bakery is getting complacent. Why? Because the size of the croissants seems to be getting smaller. The amount and quality of the chocolate for the "pain au chocolat" has diminished. I hope this was a one-off mistake. Nobody and no bakery are perfect. But it was so awful that we would've been better off thawing and baking frozen "Trader Joes" croissants. Our family has recommended this bakery to dozens of friends and colleagues. Should we stop doing so?More

If you’re looking for fresh, home baked pastries and good coffee, then you’ve found the right place. Five Points offers 10-15 freshly made everyday baked good at an affordable price. If you’re grandmother, the savvy baker, opened a small and ‘home-y’ bake shop, this would...be the one. With their recent expansion, they now offer more table seating, as well as a larger dining hall to accommodate the large number of regulars and casual diners. Their ham and cheese croissant is a personal favorite, as well as their lemon bar, both are outstanding. You will not be disappointed by their quaint and comfortable atmosphere or comforting baked goods.More

The bread and other items that they produce are excellent. I their baguettes are better than what I tasted in Paris! We have tasted different breads and found the all good. The mushroom tarts are outstanding as are their scones.

The bread is like from the old country and you will love everything that you buy there. Their cafe opens soon :) The breads loafs, French bread, pastries, huge delicious cookies (I love the oatmeal raisin) are of the highest quality ingredients. They have great...coffee and small sandwiches for lunch. It's truly a great find in Pittsburgh. Please don't count calories when you're there :) DrBobMore

What a lovely place in a neighborhood! And the locals know it; there might be line on the weekend, but it moves fast. Both breads and pastries are fresh and very tasty, and so is coffee. Nice selection. I wish there was a place like...this in my neighborhood!More

Wonderful neighborhood bakery with a range of baked goods from basic breads to yummy deserts. Saturday mornings can be very busy so arrive early for the best selections. Eat on site and/or take it home. We often do both. (Note that I’ve seen one of...the top chefs in the city here buying for her own family.) Street parking available.More

What a wonderful gem of a neighborhood bakery ! The breads and pastries are wonderful. Really enjoyed the individual tomato quiche with a lovely, buttery crust. If only I could transport it to where I live ! Great variety of breads offered.

Okay, here is the deal. Their baguettes can easily go toe-to-toe with those in most of France. Ditto their croissants. However......their prices are a tad on the steep side. I know, I know, this isn't Europe. Everyone else charges big bucks. I get it....blah blah...blah overheard. Okay, are they worth the price? Yes, usually. But the Almond Croissant @ $4 is a bit rich for my taste and isn't worth the price. I've had better and for less. The service is great. The place is clean and friendly. The Tuna baguette @ $6 ain't bad....More

I visit 5 Points at least once a week for raisin walnut or sunflower flax seed bread. Those are our favorites. I usually pick up a yummy chocolate chip cookie or a delicious scone while I am there. They have a number of other breads...and sweets plus sandwiches, all of which look inviting, but I have not eaten them, and I have never purchased a beverage. This is mostly a take out place, but they do have a couple of places to sit inside and a couple more outdoors when weather permits. On street parking is usually no problem, though you may end up a block or so away if it's a weekday when people who work nearby have parked for the day.More
