Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My family of five had a 6:00 reservation on a Friday night that we had made a week in advance. When we arrived, we were told that a large group came in and “took all the tables”. The host couldn’t give us an estimate of...how long we would have to wait for our reserved table, but implied it would be a long time and too bad. I will never give this place my business again.More

We had a great time here celebrating our 20th anniversary. The food was great! We love NOLA food! My husband tried pretty much ALL the oysters. I had one that was cooked 🤣. I had the catfish etouffe. All very good! Our waiter (I am...SO sorry I can’t remember his name!- shoulder length dark blond hair) was awesome. Very attentive and answered lots of questions about the oyster offerings. He checked on us many times during our 3 hr visit! We will definitely return- hopefully on a night where they have live music 😊More

Seafood tower is the way to go here. Lobster, shrimp, crab claws and oysters - east coast and west coast. Small place with excellent service and laid back music playing on the speakers. Good selection of sandwiches, fish dinners and of course, raw bar.

My fiance and I had the lobster rolls and they were great. It's more of a Maine style lobster roll; straight lobster meat on a roll. It was delicious and we'd go again. The bartender was great as well.

Pros. Excellent service Fun drinks Great oysters Good food Good selection for gluten free (celiac). I had shrimp and grits Interesting selection in general. We walked from Bakery Square. Unusual decor Cons It could get loud at times but nothing that made it difficult for...us to carry on a conversation. I plan to return when I am back in town for businessMore

The food was okay but was not great as other reviews state. The fried green tomatoes and alligator lacked flavor. The hush puppies were good. The server was okay. They do not provide true Cajun food. It was just okay. Not sure we’ll return.

Six of us had an Amazing dinner experience on a Friday evening. I can honestly tell you that we ordered most things on the menu because we hadn’t been there and we wanted to try everything. Standouts included of course, oysters, oysters, oysters! Everyone raved...about them. The cornbread was excellent, the Cajun shrimp cocktail was amazing, the lobster roll was great and the salads were huge and delicious as well! Our waitress was amazing and we love the atmosphere and the New Orleans vibe from this place! Can’t wait to go back! Highly recommendable!More

Loud environment on a Sunday evening. Manager seemed annoyed and unwilling to help me find a table away from loud speakers. Bringing down the volume was not an option!Expensive dinner. French fries were soggy, greasy and overflowing the plate. Really nice waitress tried all she...could but unsmiling fed up manager was a barrier to all efforts.More

Oysters meaty and very fresh. Other dishes equally excellent. Creative drinks. Wonderful beignets. Thank you Cameron for making the whole experience even better.

It’s was very average nothing special. I personally have a lot of allergies, and one of them is egg. Almost every item on the menu had some kind of egg product in it. So be careful if you have a severe allergy to something like...eggs and plan on eating there. Other than that the overall experience was alright. One downside though, was that the music was INCREDIBLY loud. We had to yell at each other just to undertrained each other. I don’t know if I’ll go backMore

Not as good as Maine, but if you can't make it all the way there, try the lobster roll at Muddy Waters. Tasty!

Arrived at 10:50 am, just as Happy Hour was ending. Grabbed a seat at the bar vs 30 minute wait. Bartender was very knowledgeable. I had the Mimosa while the others ventured for the Bloody Mary Bar - very extensive Options. Oysters were fresh and...fantastic. Crowded but worth it for the food and spirits.More

It’s very rare to find a good location in Midwest for oysters/seafood but this place was amazing!! Think New Orleans for Pitt! We went for happy hour for oysters but their menu looked really good and everyone around us had wonderful looking dishes. I particularly...liked the “hot sauce” (it wasnt very hot at all) but I’ll always try hot sauces out every once in awhile even though I don’t like them very much and I truly liked the sauce. I’ll be back the next time I visit!More

While visiting my hometown for the first time is a bunch of years we stayed in East Liberty. We noticed an older gentleman carrying an instrument into Muddy Waters Oyster bar and asked him when the music started. We returned to hear some music and...had only been in town for a few hours so we just wanted dessert and drinks. The waitress was not in the mood for us. Her eye rolling was Olympic caliber. The beignet's were terrible but the bread pudding was good. The two gentlemen who were performing there were great and we enjoyed listening to them after traveling all day.More
