They have recently opened for takeout and curbside. Eddie Merlots is one of our go to spots usually for drinks - great bar/lounge as well as their food. We decided for our Anniversary this year since we could not eat in we would have them fix us a steak dinner with the Eddie's potatoes (Shareable size) and the same size of the Brussel Sprouts. The food was great. We went home and had a candlelit dinner with a fine red wine.. Great evening. Thanks to EM.
They wer so kind to us and were pleased we chose them for our special occasion. They did not disappoint.

Eddie Merlot's in Pittsburgh was one of the few restaurants that are open for in-door dining recently and can't thank them enough for this. We came to Pittsburgh to celebrate our sixth year anniversary and wanted to truly enjoy our time, while still adhering to the protocols set with this pandemic. Excellent customer service, attention to detail, and great food you will find in Eddie Merlot. Our waiter and the rest of Eddie Merlot's team made us treated us like royalty, providing all the safety measures, and allowed us to enjoy each moment of our experience. The portions were quite generous and drinks were great as well. We highly recommend the king crab legs, NY strip, lobster mac and cheese, mushrooms, and steak potstickers. At the end of our dinner, we were provided a creme brulee for our celebration and were happy for our dining experience. Thanks again to everyone that is working there and still providing guests this experience that we all have missed for so many months. For a special ocassion, Eddie Merlot is definitely a place to consider in the Pittsburgh area.

Bartender could not make dry bourbon Manhattan or vodka gimlet. Steak and creamed spinach were extremely salty. Husbands surf and turf were not memorable. Crab meat on top of fillet was not good Will not go back. Dinner at Morton’s steak house was fabulous !

Outstanding. This was the first time we had eaten out sinceMarch 12. We always enjoyed Eddie’s in the past and tonight was no different Both steaks were expertly prepared and very, very tasty. Eddie’s potatoes were cheesy with just the right amount of bite. And oh that carrot cake.
David our server did an excellent job, friendly and attentive
Covid procedures made us feel really safe.

My wife and I were in the city for a couples night away.
I’ve heard great things about Eddie Merlot’s so figured we’d give it a shot.
The atmosphere was very pleasing and dimly lit for a more romantic setting.
Our waiter was very friendly and attentive for the first 2/3 of our meal, although he was very forgetful when it came to questions about the menu. He had to go ask twice about the charcuterie plate. The wine list was very nice.
We each got steak, why wife the 21 day dry aged filet, and I the 28 day dry aged ribeye.
Wow, the steaks were fantastic and the bread was excellent. The two side dishes we got were the most mediocre food you could get. The Eddie’s potatoes were undercooked and the Brussel sprouts were very bland. Not what I would expect for a $100+ per plate restaurant.
After we finish our meal and we’re ready to leave the waiter was MIA, when he final did come back he served us a free crème brûlée for my birthday, which I appreciated but we were both so full that we only shared a few bites. Then we had to wait about 5+ minutes to flag down our waiter for the check.
All in all I would say it took a good 30 minutes from the time we wanted to pay and leave until we finally got our check.
The Last Word, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was nice, the steak was top notch, the side dishes were blah, and I would say our waiter needs to learn to read people because were definitely ready to go by the end of our main meal. We will definitely come back, and just try to make it more apparent when we are ready to leave.

Giving extra kudos to a great server (Ryan) who smartly kept the drinks flowing at the table and was very attentive.
But the food EH mashed potatoes were pretty cold and tasteless. Steak came out very rare which some of us were ok with and others were not so it was sent back and charred and not so good after that. Didn't try desert. Sadly Pittsburgh is dying on the vine downtown and choices of bars or places to eat seem diminished, especially if walking and trying to avoid the very obnoxious college kids, homeless children and piss smell on the streets.
Anyway, of the steak options downtown, it's good .

Fabulous! 8 of us dined at Eddie Merlot’s for a special occasion. Our wait staff team, Zac and Trey, were attentive and very knowledgeable about the wine list and the entire menu. Their recommendations were spot on and encouraged us to try some items we normally wouldn’t have selected. The food was fantastic! The filets were all cooked to perfection and a prime cut of meat. The seasoning was perfect and was just enough to compliment the taste of the beef, but not overwhelm it. Would highly recommend the grilled romaine salad (dressing out of this world!), Brussel sprouts, chargrilled oysters, bbq shrimp appetizer, filet wonton appetizer, Sea Bass, peanut butter cup dessert, and 4 layer triple chocolate cake. They were all phenomenal and It was a perfect evening of celebrating! Every time we visit Eddie Merlot’s, we are never disappointed. Their consistency and high level of service are impressive!

My wife and I dined with another couple at Eddie merlot's on Saturday night. We were seated promptly and our server was attentive and did an excellent job taking our drink and food orders, Darlene ordered the petite filet well done with a Ceasar salad. i ordered the veal osso buco.. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant and its views of the Gateway Center and were having a great time with our friends when the food arrived, Darlene's steak looked like a large dried fig. swimming on this large plate with little else to occupy the plate. And although she she said her steak was cooked well done, I looked over and I could see a small section of bright red meat, when you order a steak from an expensive steakhouse you expect it to be 1.. more than three bites 2.. pleasing to the sight. and 3.. cooked to order. My osso buco was ok certainly nothing to write home about especially priced at $65.00. I had hope for some rich flavors but instead got something that while it tasted ok was reminiscent of an ordinary pot roast. For desert we decided to share the chocolate cake recommended by the server. It was a nice portion of a good looking desert but unfortunately it was very dry and over-cooked.
My wife and I expected more out of a restaurant that had survived through covid and the Pittsburgh restaurant scene and left disappointed but having had a good time with our friends. .

We first made a reservation since it was a weekend. A few hours before our reservation, something came up so we called to see if there were any later times available. They originally said no but called us back within 15 minutes and said they could accommodate us. I have never had a restaurant do that and it was much appreciated.
When we arrived we were immediately sat and within seconds our waiter introduced himself.
The service was excellent. We never had to wait for the waiter to return and we never waited long for requests.
I have to eat gluten free, so i asked and they did have a separate menu. The staff was very knowledgeable and understood how to adjust any meal to make it gluten free. I had the 10 oz filet and it was amazing. Eddies Potatoes were gluten free and they were incredible.
Overall experience was amazing. Will return soon.

Went for a birthday celebration with 6 people. Our friend raved about the French onion soup being the best she ever had. We ordered spinach dip and green beans and eddies potatoes (they were the only thing we ate that was tasteless). The trio of filet minion, bison steaks were also huge hits.

Our night at Eddie Merlot’s was everything you expect from an high end steakhouse. Service was impeccable (shoutout to our waiter, Bob, who couldn’t have been more in tune with our group of four). Bob handled the one hiccup of the evening — an overdone petit filet — with aplomb and had a replacement to us within 15 minutes. My dry-aged bone-in ribeye a special) was perfection. An order of carrot cake made a perfect sized dessert for four of us. One bit of advice — when parking in the Gateway Center lot, which is under the restaurant, go down to the second level as this where the underground entrance to the restaurant is located. Your waiter will validate your parking ticket, so remember to take it to the restaurant with you.

Very good location. Friendly service. Comfortable seats. However, dishes took more than 20 minutes to come and everthing was way TOO salty except the cesar salad and garlic mashed potato. Our fries were covered with salt.....shocking!!! Cesar salad was not fresh. The french dip had the worst presentation we had ever seen. The prices weren't expensive, so we just paid and didn't say anything. The waitress asked if we needed boxes.....Nope! We won't be back for sure. Capital grill is 10 times better.

9 / 10 times that I get steak from the butcher, I'll get a 1.25" ribeye and cook it to medium temperature. I don't usually order steak at a restaurant because it's hard for them to measure up to what we cook at home. However, based on what I had heard about Eddie Merlot's, I was excited about finally ordering steak away from home. The waiter sold me on the bone-in ribeye. Hopefully my experience was an anomaly, but it was one of the worst steaks I've eaten in many years. Thinness aside, there was literally no part of the steak that was cooked to a medium temperature. The outside was medium well and overly charred, while the inside was pretty close to rare. It was practically inedible, at least to me. When I reheated the rare sections at home the next day, it became obvious there was an usually high fat to meat ratio compared to the cuts of meat that I'm accustomed to. A lot of $$ down the drain...lesson learned, no more Eddie's.
My wife and friend enjoyed their scallops, shrimp and salmon.
The mac and cheese with lobster was good, but very expensive.
The side of mushrooms was also expensive, but nothing special compared to what you'd expect at Outback.
Thankfully, the parking was free.

We spent my birthday weekend in Pittsburgh and the firs dinner was here a Eddie Merlot’s. We had a great meal.
We shared bottle of Roth Cabernet Sauvignon that was very nice and only $70. We also shared their Barbecued Shrimp appetizer and this was great. The restaurant also brought bread and butter ad the bread was excellent!
My wife has the cedar plank salmon and it was very good. I had the 10 ounce filet cooked a perfect medium rare and this steak was excellent. We also had the creamed spinach. This was good maybe a bit too creamy for my tastes but good never the less.
Service was good. Restaurant atmosphere is very nice. Because of the birthday they gave me a card and a free crème brûlée and this was excellent.
