Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In the greenhouses at the back of Phipps there are signs on some of the plants destined to go to the cafe along the lines of "check the plants for bugs". They need a sign in the kitchen saying "check the food for hairs". When...we reported it, the woman said "what can we do to make it better?". Um - wear a hair net?More

I attempted to order an item on August 21 around 2 pm. The young woman told me the item I ordered was not available, and that they go to a half menu in the afternoon. I had looked at the cafe menu on website before...I arrived at the cafe, and saw nothing that said that. I believe she just made that up because the item was not available. Better would have been to just say we were very busy today and we are our of that item and these others also. If you want to make another selection, we are out of these other items as well. The item I ended up with was not anything to speak of, roasted kale caesar salad. I was very disappointed in the salad. Nothing special. If they go to a half menu in the afternoon, it should be stated on the menu on the website. They sure do say that it has been selected as a top rated museum cafe. I would say, it isn't up to what it had been pre pandemic.More

Tasty stew and salad. Very nice, relaxed space that we utilized to reflect on what we had seen and get ready for the second half of the conservatory.

Pre-pandemic this little cafe was excellent, and it's still better than most. Inventive "grab-and-go" light meals, well-prepared, and plenty of space between the tables (plus high ceilings and open access to the lobby of Phipps) makes this place seem as safe as it can be.

The Cafe at Phipps is better than average. But still just a basic cafe at a attraction with sandwiches and basic snacks

We were pleasantly surprised at the fresh, varied menu. Not your typical fare that you would expect to find at a cafe attached to a popular attraction. Good mushroom pizza, quiche, and chicken meatball sandwich. Alcohol is also served, but we just had a good...cup of La Prima Espresso coffee.More

The cafe at Phipps is a nice little place for some good coffee and a light meal. Has a nice atmosphere being inside the glass conservatory - light and bright with moderate noise and activity. Enjoyed it.

Great variety of healthy choices. Delicious. Outdoor seating on a nice day. Very popular with folks coming in or finishing a visit to the Conservatory.

The Cafe offers a good range of food and drinks in a small but pretty setting. Prices are reasonable and the opportunity to sit, relax and people watch should not be missed.

And I have to agree. I love the Phipps. We visited the Van Gogh exhibit - but it was a blistering hot day in July and I was exhausted. Enter Cafe Phipps. Air Conditioned. Actually really decent food and cheerful and helpful staff. We ate...surprisingly well for under $30. Quiche of the day, salads, fruit splash beverages and dessert. $28. And fresh herbs, fresh local produce. And even if you don't pay admission, this place is open. Nice bonus to a fun, but very hot day.More

Wow, a reasonably priced restaurant attached to a conservatory was amazing to begin with, and then the delicious food made for a special experience! I had the kale caesar salad gluten free and it was so delicious and fresh. My husband had the barbeque sliders...and he said they were very good. Had the juice spritz (I believe?) in orange/pineapple which was so refreshing - I then had the honeydew which was very bland and for me I could not drink it. They replaced it for me. Thank you! Great menu!More

We dined here for the first time after visiting the conservatory. We were excited since the food seemed fresh and they offer a good selection of sandwiches, salads, flatbreads, soups, etc. However, we were pretty unimpressed. The food was essentially flavorless. The flatbread was practically...a tortilla with some cheese and peppers/onions on top. The sandwiches were rather small and really nothing special. The salad was flavorless, with little-no dressing. The basil parmesan soup, however, was good but the size of a cup was very small. The food did seem fresh but all in all, it was really nothing special.More

We listened to the up-sale as we bought our tickets for the conservancy, telling us that we could buy a drink in the cafe and take it with us as we walked the exhibits - and if we ordered tea, we could also get free...refills. We certainly benefited, because we had at least 3 refills. The sandwiches, soups, salads and sides were all delicious, fresh, and not your ordinary, overpriced museum-attached cafe food. I was pleasantly surprised!More

We didn't eat during this out of town visit but had beverages. We couldn't help but notice that many of the adults were having wine - it was around noon. There were many children who could only get fruit drinks, not sodas because of the...sugar. The juxtaposition of wine but no sodas for health reasons was odd. As was the question of whether this is a bar because of the sale of wine but children are being served.More
