Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've been coming to this place since 2011 and it has stayed consistently great. On a recent weekend in Pittsburgh we made it in twice. Between the two trips we had mussels both times, oysters both times and the giant fish sandwich. Great beers on...tap and in bottles. Excellent bartenders and service. It sounds crazy to recommend seafood in Pittsburgh PA, 300 miles from the ocean. But it's darn good.More

the manager needs to talk to their employees. there is this absolutely stunning girl employee with a small lisp and the guys go crazy for her. but there is a few other strange looking girl employees there that make fun of her lisp trying to...break her down. I'm pretty sure they are just jealous because her guy fans are very handsome too. This is a bad working environment very hostile and someone needs to attend to this matter immediately. next time I will say something.More

I had the worst service of my life I went away wanting to cry. My husband got the crab nachos, which were actually good (I’m not a seafood person but it came with tons of thick crab pieces) so I won’t comment on the seafood...aspect. But, the service left me feeling so diminished. I ordered the Korean pork dish listed in the menu and the server told me not to order it because it was inconsistent and suggest a burger (which wasn’t even on the menu). I decided to get that per her persuasiveness. It comes out to me as a one smashed flat patty on bread, no condiments/nothing. I don’t know if she didn’t like me or we had missed communication or understanding. But it felt like she was on purpose. I left there perplexed and sad. I did say something to her post meal, I was so hungry and just ate it after driving 12 hours. She says “you didn’t tell me you wanted more on the burger” … I think she knew we were out of town. Anyways I would never recommend this place.More

Our waitress Dawn elevated the entire experience. She was very helpful with great recommendations and attentive service. The burger was not bad and the cocktail shrimp was good. Vodka lemonade was tasty. The place was busy but thanks to Dawn did not luck a good...service.More

We both ordered the FILET MIGNON BEEF TIPS topped with mozzarella cheese on toasted Mancini's bun cut like a lobster roll. The sandwitch comes with a large side of french fries. The sandwitch was very good but the fries were not very hot when served...and could be better if they were fresh off the fryer. The wine list had some nice selections and many of the glasses of wine were priced at $7 per glass. Draft beer was on sale the night we were there. Service was a little slow.More

Roland's was more of a local sports bar than a "seafood restaurant"; yet, we enjoyed our visit. They had a great tap beer list. I ordered a lobster roll, and thought it was very good....there was a decent amount of lobster on it, and had...a good overall flavor. We enjoyed our dinner and after-dinner drinks here.More

Stopping for a late lunch was a pleasant surprise. After ordering drinks our server Anna was very pleasant, she was polite and funny which made our time there so much nicer. Beginning with clam chowder ( I wouldn't recommend it ) I told Anna that...it wasn't very good. The chowder was thick and looked more like mashed potatoes than clam chowder and didn't have any flavor. She took it away and she recommended the lobster bisque which was fantastic! In addition to that we had 2 lobster rolls, Mexican Mussels and some oysters on the half shell. We were fortunate to still be there when happy hour began, During happy hour, drink prices are reduced and oysters and shrimp are a dollar each. A great deal to say the least.More

We went there expecting a great lunch! With prices what they are today, everything should be top-notch, especially when you don't go out often and especially mid-afternoon with not many customers. The french fries were terrible; looked like they used old grease, very brown and...greasy. The fish sandwich that we much anticipated was also way overcooked and did not taste good. Filet tips were not good either. Very disappointing lunch to say the least for lunch to cost $100 with no alcohol!! Will not recommend!More

After a day spent visiting Pittsburgh museums, we were hungry, and Roland's was highly recommended by family members. We were disappointed. My tuna was flavorful, but TOUGH. I have never had a tough piece of tuna before. A house salad with Caesar dressing is NOT...a Caesar. My wife's cod was average. My wife and my sister wanted the lobster ravioli, but, after ordering, they were informed that there was none available. And this was at 4:30, the start of the dinner time. We will not return.More

Food was really good. Loved the clam chowder and lobster roll. My wife really enjoyed her Maryland spicy crab soup and seafood stew. Server's were nice. The only issue we had was my lobster roll came out almost 20 minutes before my wife's entree. I...had to go ahead and eat before her food came out so that it wouldn't get cold. Other than that, we were happy with our meals. Great beer selection as wellMore

Walking through the strip after we waited 25 minutes for a waiter/ waitress at our first pick to eat, we came across Roland’s. And we were not disappointed. My son started with the Maryland spicy crab chowder, then shrimp followed by fish tacos. Me and...my girlfriend had the meat trio pizza and beer battered fish sandwich. So much food only took home 1/2 a fish sandwich. They were pretty busy for a Sunday afternoon due a ball game ending. They took off the fish sandwich and tacos off our bill which was very nice of them. Definitely will be going back.More

Went here expecting a little more. It was okay, but not super wowed like a read in the reviews. It was very crowded and there was a long wait, so we sat at the bar. Had the Beer Boiled Shrimp and the appetizer Lobster sliders....The shrimp did not seem fresh, but I am very picky. The lobster was delicious, but thought the bread to lobster ration was too much. The bread was hard, so I just ate the lobster. My husband had the wings, and he loved them!More
