Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We have been going to Thredbo in the summer for over 20 years and even though it was raining every day we did not fail to have breakfast and coffee here. It is in the process of being done up and looked a bit bare but once they get the eagle back it will feel like home again. Prices seemed lower than they have been.

We didn’t book but were lucky to be allocated a table in the window for lunch. Our initial server was excellent and soon had us settled in. We ordered our meals and drinks from the counter and were a little ‘disappointed’ when my husband’s “Alpine Breakfast Burger” was served. Okay, should have read the description a little more carefully as we assumed that the name suggested that it would contain a beef, or ham, burger … no, not much content at all infact. My smoked trout salad was fine, as was the large side of ‘rustic chips’. We commented on the lack of the burger and were told “oh, don’t worry I will order a burger for you”. As this still hadn’t eventuated by the time we had finished our meals and drinks, we decided not to wait any further and left. After our initial efficient and friendly service, there was very little service at all after that which is a shame for a place with great potential.

view from window was amazing but the restroom was disgusting and the service was slow and very expensive , the staff were more interested in counting the tip jar then serving the people and when we did get out coffee the cake came out much later not a good plan. Also the size of the pieces of cake were small and not much to choose from on the menu so cake or pizza was your choice . Another thing I am glad I did but really would not be in a hurry to go back

Wow! We would highly recommend coming here and getting the 1937 Burger, it was so fresh and juicy. Great customer service and the best place to come to after you conquered Mt Kosciusko. The price is actually not to bad for what you are getting and how unique the experience is. “Jonique Life” Follow our journey around Australia on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and YouTube as we highlight wonderful experiences and magical places you can add to your ever growing bucket list.

Had a late, light lunch at Eagles Nest Restaurant the other day. They could easily just rely on the amazing view to get by on. But the food, the service and the welcome are first rate. Very COVID aware, and are right on top of social distancing and the recording of people in and out of the restaurant. The bowl of hot chips was that – hot, salty and crisp and arrived promptly. Also had some scones with jam and cream – fresh and fluffy. Coffee and tea all round – arrived steaming in large cups at the same time as the food – a must for me. Well worth the trip up on the chair lift. Oh yeah . . and the view is to die for Thanks. Cate.

Sunday lunch after a morning walk: pleasant greeting from Liam however our hot chips were not hot and surprised to find garlic bread came topped with cheese. Ginger beer for spider was flat. Tea served was not as ordered. No table napkins provided. No offer of water. Menu not displayed outside at bottom of stairs.

As soon as we entered the building at the bottom to climb the many stairs to get to the restaurants to have our morning coffee, we knew it wasn't going to be good. The look and smell of the toilets was just awful. Once locked inside the restaurant, the smell was gone luckily. Coffee was average but served by friendly staff, decor was tired and uninteresting, but the views were nice.

We visited for lunch two times this past week and both times the staff were super friendly and the food was great. We had to wait for a table both times but this was handled well as they took our number and simply called when the table was ready. The steak sandwich is a standout and the beers go down nicely. The building needs a bit of work and they have a problem with bugs inside but the staff, the views and the food make up for it all!

Skied the morning- took the family up for break and a bite. Due to COVID menu was limited and only the restaurant open. We had a great lunch ,kids hot chocolate and a few hearty meals. Then good to head out onto the slopes for a few more runs.

Great location. Get there by a scenic chairlift from the base of Thredbo Village. Reasonably priced given where it is located. Great if you can score a table by the window. Has a nice feel with a fire place. Friendly staff.

Special experience, nice spot. Excellent view in the restaurant and nice food. Small menus but enough for a mountain. Cant complain. All positive, staff were nice and schnapps happy hour was a real treat.

Stopped off for lunch after a hike. The food was great. We had barramundi and lasagne. The view is spectacular and the staff were extremely friendly. You can’t book a table but our wait was very short. The building and internal furnishings could do with an upgrade but the food and views made up for that. Definitely worth a stop off.

Popped in to Eagles Nest for a bite to eat after our walk. Omg best pizza ever! It really hit the spot after all the walking and the view was spectacular! We visited in the off season but I can just imagine how cozy it would be with the fire on during the snow season. Highly recommend.

what can I say the service was poor and the food expensive , and the toilets were so dirty I don't think they had been cleaned and since I was there at 10.30am and they opened at 9am not much chance of getting dirty by tourists . The food was fresh but was very small for price and the service left a lot to be desired the coffee came and about 30 mins later came the cake should have been brought out at the same time or not long after .

I would loved to have been able to provide a review of this restaurant - which used to be a place I'd visit every trip to the mountains with its lovely view out over the Thredbo valley - but alas the chairlift operators are gouging people $55 per adult for a minimum one day pass, even if you only want to take a single ride to go up and have your lunch in this great location. Unfortunately I'll now be seeking my sustenance elsewhere from now on.
