The Apres Bar is a lovely little place in Thredbo for a light meal in relaxed but pleasant surroundings, particularly if you can sit on the little outside terrace. The small menu is excellent and serves gluten-free diners very well. The pulled pork burger was delicious. Menu prices are reasonable for the location and venue. Service is friendly as you want in a bar. One of our regular Thredbo haunts during our annual visit here.

The view is great, the service polite, food tasty and beautifully presented. We were sitting next to a beautiful real Christmas tree which added to the atmosphere. The only problem was that everything on the plate was drenched in fat, it might be adding some beautiful flavor for some people but we are simply not used to it.

The steak is listed as a 1kg t-bone. Based on that we thought there would be enough to share for a table of five. However once you take the massive bone out we were left with an overdone steak that somehow looked undercooked and grey on the outside. But the big feature is that it was half fat! I’m all for a little bit along the outside of the sirloin half but it was ridiculous. Also when ordering a t-bone, particularly one this big, you’d expect some of the eye fillet on the other side. But no, nothing. I have a lot of love for this place, and Thredbo in general, so I felt hugely let down that they would serve this rubbish

Truly awful meal. We decided to book because the menu looked so good and there were many positive reviews and was personally recommended to me. Our meals were very disappointing. I tried the fried cauliflower which was deep fried in old oli to the point where it was devoid of flavour and texture,. I sent it back and the replacement was not much better. The oil drowned the flavour of the figs, nuts and pepitas. My wife tried the grilled stone fruit salad which was drowned in mayonnaise and the fruit was unrecognisable. She also tried the salmon gravlax which was pretty good but not great. I had the pistachio crusted lamb rack for my main. The lamb was very tasty and perfectly cooked. Breadcrumbs replaced the pistachios. The rocket in the quinoa salad was turning yellow. The stone fruit in the salad was cold - straight from the fridge. Maybe the kitchen A-team works winters. The service and wine were really excellent. The service especially was memorable but couldn’t make up for poor food. Don’t expect to park anywhere close, which is a Thredbo thing.

With the pandemic after effects and staffing issues we really try hard to be understanding with wait staff and restaurants in general and it takes a lot to get us to complain, but buckle up: We came late in the day, not far off closing time, so we’ll let the LONG wait for our meal go, however when the onyx tagliata was plopped in front of me I was too surprised to speak. That was the meal-no potatoes, no vegetable, just a $42 small slab of beef. I mentioned to the server that I’ve never, in 63 years, not had a beef main come without some sort of accompaniment. They were polite so no issues there but that meal wouldn’t have fed an average person. Avoid this restaurant. Tomorrow I’ll eat the tires off my car before I’d go back there.

I've been coming to the Terrace Restaurant at the Denman for years. One of the original fine-dining restaurants, it's been the best in the village the last couple of years. Honestly, it's not quite as good as when it was listed in the Australian Good Food Guide a few years ago and they were serving Veuve Clicquot by the glass, but there are plenty of healthy and creative options on the menu. The Denman Bar is the best in the village and has outstanding cocktails.

We chose this for my husbands 50th bday dinner with family & friends during the summer season. Took several days for the event person to reply to my email and arrangements were made. Restaurant was reduced to half its size, however, staff were slow to deliver drinks as I believe they were using the bar downstairs. Some bottles of wine were double the price of purchasing from the bottle shop. Staff were friendly and mostly all meals were enjoyed. This is an expensive place to eat but probably the nicest restaurant in Thredbo. The group used the library after dinner which was a nice way to finish the night .

I have read the recent bad reviews and was very surprised by some of the negative experiences. We ate as part of a large group of 20+ on a Friday night. Set menu for $95pp. Very attentive and efficient wait staff. (For example, I never had to ask for a top up of wine.) The set menu for our group was served as large plates and servings for each 4 pax. This was a smart and efficient plan. No food was wasted and no-one went hungry. The plates came regularly and we were done in 1hr 45min. These were the courses: 1. Sourdough slices with Pepe Saya butter 2. Burrata, with a medley of tomato, basil, balsamic reduction 3. Char Grilled Octopus, with Confit cherry tomato, wild rocket and gremolata 4. Crispy Skin Pork Belly, with spiced apple and shaved fennel 5. Black Onyx Flank Tagliata with salsa verde, served in slices. 6. Pan seared Barramundi, with kale, quinoa, apple, pomegranate, caramelised balsamic 7. Appleschmarrn, with shredded apple, cranberries, vanilla bean ice-cream Accompanied by plates of Baby cos, fennel, walnut, lemon emulsion, baked cauliflower cheese, herb crumb chips, aioli The food was presented well and cooked to perfection. Thus, tasty. The general consensus was one of pleasant surprise. We were not the only diners or group. I was amazed to learn that there was ONE chef in the kitchen, due to a staff shortage.

First impression was outdated furniture but that became a non issue when we were treated by the very friendly staff. We had grilled prawns for Entre and some sourdough. Main meal was Barramundi and Steak. The steak is on the smaller side so definitely order a side... the staff also advised us if this. To finish off an amazing dinner was Baked Cheesecake for dessert. We will definitely be returning to this little f of a restaurant.

Flavour, fresh & healthy, variety, great service and a stunning view. The octopus entree was great to share and we kept up the theme sharing flank steak with delicious salsa verse and I had an excellent and generous mushroom pasta. Wine list excellent.

We so loved this surprise discovery in Thredbo Village , “The Terrace restaurant “ that we went back twice in two days. The Apres’ bar downstairs was a lovely place to grab a cocktail and pre dinner drink before going upstairs to the restaurant. It’s such a cool bar with a cosy fireplace and friendly barman , Josh. The restaurant has great views up to the mountain and is a very smart and romantic venue with a great menu. Their mushroom linguine ragu was amazing and expertly prepared by Tristen , their chef. Our servers Marina and Daniel were so professional, attentive and personable. We will definitely go back again when we next visit Thredbo.

Dinner function for 60 people and 2 servers the whole night!! Started at 730pm and received mains around 945pm. Had to call repeatedly to get drinks topped up. If you can’t cope, don’t accept the booking. Food was decent when we finally received it.

I celebrated my 50th birthday here, the restaurant is warm and cozy, staff are super friendly and accommodating. The Owner was so lovely and thanked us for visiting them. I had the Scampi Risotto and my boyfriend the Crab Squid Ink Pasta both we’re equally fabulous. I had the best night ever, thank you so much.

I visited the terrace on multiple occasions whilst staying for a week trip in thredbo. We had alot of the menu and the food was fantastic. Loved the caramelised onion tart, the venison ragu and the lamb shoulder. The star however was the eton mess. Wine list is great too along with friendly staff and great ambiance. Will return many more times in the future.
