Good food, good service!

Good food, good service! I created a trip advisor account just so I could write a review about this place. I did a fair amount of research before booking as my partner and I have different preferences. He's more of a steak and chip guy and I like lighter, European style food. Although they were offering a reduced menu because of covid, there was still a good variety. I had a starter and 2 sides for my main while my partner had steak and chips. We have been to several steak restaurants in Sydney lately and this steak was far better! Cooked to perfection. The service was also so friendly and attentive and this was really what prompted me to write a review. Having previously worked in hospitality, good and friendly service is something I really value. We are so grateful to have been able to experience Thredbo this season (despite covid restrictions). It gave me joy to be able to support this business and I hope this review might influence others to visit this restaurant this season. It's worth noting, they were very compliant with distancing requirements and cleaning down tables & menus. Thanks for a great start to our snow weekend :)

A nice meal in a nice atmosphere

Food was neither poor nor outstanding it was a well cooked steak served with nice wine in a nice friendly atmosphere. When I'm back in Thredbo I'd certainly go back. No complaints - Does exactly what it says it will.

Charges for table water/food is average

My partner had the ribs ,he said they were nice. I ate the empanada's ( only vegetarian meal) I found them to be very basic about the same quality I would expect frozen from a box, no real taste at all. We also shared the raw nigiri which was delicious. I ordered sparkling water ,to which I was told I would be charged for,which is a given and completely fine. When the bill came I was also charged an additional $12 for still table water, which my partner had one glass from . Im pretty annoyed that they was no warning that they charge for table water which wasn't even cold. I'd probably give this place a miss . Overall disappointing .Im probably most annoyed about $12 table water .

Bad service, average food

The maître d was not very friendly and couldnt seem to handle the busy environment of the restaurant. the waiter did things you'd expect from a new employee, bringing my a beer while touching the lip of the glass. Only good part was the drinks from the bartender. He was quite nice. but again because of the waiters lack of experience. Our drinks sat ready on the bar for several minutes while they ran around trying to catchup to their other tables. My steak was over done and our cheesebread was quite dry. Also they had a huge party of at least 20 which is definitely not covid safe. I believe the current max part size is 10.

Confused Menu, Deb mash !

Entrees are a mix of garlic bread ( only great item) duck parfait, olives etc and half a page of sushi/ sashimi. Weird and confused menu. Mains are pork ribs, malaysian curry, wagyu, vindaloo and empanadas that tasted like from a frozen packet, did not look house made. Service was patchy, finished our wine and never offered more drinks or water. It feels like there is no chef and items are just assembled by kitchen hands. Bottled sauces and the most awful thing is that the mashed potatoes tasted exactly like packet Deb mix. They were not real - 4 of us on the table all agreed. Salad dressing was out of the Kraft bottle. There were strange ‘Brazillian’ pickled chillies with the parfait that tasted just yuck. Two of us spat them out ( i love chillies) and the little bread bits were covered in some unpalatable packet herby mix that wrecked the duck flavour. One of my pet hates, the entree was taken away and main dishes arrived straight away ? Some were piping hot on outside, lukewarm in middle = microwave. I could go on but you get the picture. These meals were expensive, mains $40 - $50. Really disappointing and our worst dining experience all week. Would not return or recommend.

Great service, delicious food, expensive meals!

We booked this restaurant as last time we were in Thredbo (pre Covid) this was a Brazilian BBQ place. The kids were disappointed it was no longer the bbq place, but the food was exceptional as was the service. Staff were attentive and pleasant. The steaks were tender and cooked to perfection and there is a kids menu. This is an expensive restaurant to eat at, but so are most places in the village.

Wonderful food and attentive service

Our experience in Thredbo has been variable, so we were grateful to be somewhere with fast, friendly, attentive service and delicious food. Great wine list and cocktails. Brazilian themed, lots of choices for both meat lovers and vegetarians. The duck was fabulous as were the churros. Staff checked back on the quality of the cocktails and quickly remedied an issue, making for very happy customers. We had a delightful evening and would return. Thanks Sante!

Beautiful dinner

Firstly I would like to thank the helpful, knowledgeable and very professional staff. The menu is not huge, but varied with every dish designed to perfection. Optional sides can be ordered, although most dishes have sides already included. The wine list is interesting with many local wine and well priced. We felt very comfortable observing staff follow all the Covid sanitasation rules. Highly recommended.

Terrible Service

Service is bad. Main waitress is weird, almost rude, and the other 3 wait staff were not experienced and slow. Placed order with main waitress, entrees came in a normal time, sushi was good quality. Waited over an hour for main course. When we enquired about our food, it was worked out that the main waitress forgot to put our order into the kitchen. We were not going to wait any longer so we left. She did not seem to care, didn’t even approach us to apologise. The atmosphere is bland. Do not recommend.

Loved my steak

Really enjoyed my meal at Sante. I had the eye filet steak with port wine just, musrhoom and croquette. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. It was so good that I couldnt stop eating it even though I was full...I had to finish every bIt of it!! They also have a fabulous wine selection at reasonable prices.

Liked it so much we visited 3 nights in a row! Attentive and friendly staff, food was great, cocktails well made and the ambiance enjoyable. No reservation option helped to get a table too. Highly recommended.

NICE FOOD WITH GOOD BEER

We picked a selection of meals with some sharing. The ribs, croquettes etc were very nice! Wasked down with a Kozzi of course! Friendly staff and good meal sizes!

Excellent service and terrific food

Fabulous ribs (best in thredbo), great polenta chips, salads that don’t skimp on tomatoes and avocado and amazing desserts. Worth a visit while in Thredbo - particularly after a long day hiking.
