Our family of 7 dined here last night. The staff implemented correct covid-19 protocol and the restaurant was very clean. We found the dining room to be very poorly lit, which wasn’t a problem until you’re trying to read a menu. We had some whiskey sours made by bar staff who nailed it, one of the best. The main meals I thought were overpriced for what they were, we ordered the chefs cut which was nicely cooked (not amazing) however, I do not believe worth $52. The kids meals were reasonably priced and the kids thoroughly enjoyed their desserts. The adults dessert menu was great and reasonably priced, the meringue nest was absolutely amazing and I feel this made up for the over priced main meals. All of the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, well done guys. A great location to view the fireworks on a Saturday eve.

Surprised to read this restaurant is lower on the list of recommendations. We had a great family dinner that included lovely fresh snapper, beautiful seafood pasta, the best ever broccolini and some nice scallops to start. The kids meals were all hearty in size and excellent value for the money given it included a drink and dessert. We dined at numerous other restaurants during our stay, but this was the pick of the lot. The menu is limited but what they cook is solid in quality, freshness and size. The service was excellent too.

Dinner for 3 with mussels , trout and lamb for mains. The food was good albeit the menu was quite limited. We asked the waiter if there's any pasta dish and he replied yes, they have the risotto. Hmm. Anyway, the ambience was nice and relaxed and the food arrived timely. The dishes all had French names but wasn't really very French at all. Service was ok, and the best part was the reasonable price.

Our package included breakfast however unlike other hotels we stayed at on thsi driving holiday around the Central West of NSW and the Snowy mountains, you had no choice if you wanted eggs but to have the eatery scrambled eggs or rock hard dried out fried eggs. The bacon was rock hard also from stewing in its heated container (note not a bay Marie) . Dinner was a likewise pricey non event with very limited choices and the wine was expensive also. Service was all over the place with some of the young women being good to other who ignored customer as the waitstaff gossiped amongst themselves. I had read negative reviews on the restaurants prior to booking and thought things cannot be that bad; they were!

For a fixed menu the Duck Pappardelle was bland and lacked flavour. The desert was Affogato without a liqueur and tasted like a small ice cream with espresso - bland. A $200 meal without a feeling of satisfaction or joy.

Went for dinner. The menu only has the option of 2 courses for $69 or 3 courses for $79. We were not told this at the time of booking. The food as pretty average.... The pork belly was very fatty and not crispy at all. Such a disappointment. Won't be giving it a second chance!

Two of our group chose the duck and passionfruit dessert.
Both duck dishes were cold, tough and overcooked.
Miserable sized serving as well.
We were then told that the beans and carrots were off the menu.
Who runs out of these???!!!
The dessert was a disaster.
A passionfruit tart without any passionfruit.
Are these guys serious?
If they are going to try to position themselves as an up market eatery, they need to learn how to deliver on this.

The 4 of us had a great evening - good food in well sized portions and excellent table service. Cascades has a 2 ($69) or 3 ($79) course fixed price winter menu. But the excellent sides are extra ($10 each) as was the 200gm steak (extra $15). The date and butterscotch and creme broulee were a delicious finish to our meal. The restaurant has a long wine list and the Lark Hill Shiraz ($60) that we had was excellent. We will be back. :)

We have eaten here in previous years when staying at Thredbo but it’s not a restaurant that would be our first choice.
Breakfast has been the same here for many years and has become boring. Food is not hot and I don’t enjoy the coffee.
As a family we have decided to no longer have the breakfast buffet during our visit.

One main came out..... Waited and waited for the other mains to come out. Asked the waitress where the other mains were. Was told there was only one chef on and they didn't expect to be so busy. Watched other tables get their food that had come in after us. Ended up cancelling the remaining orders and leaving. Pretty poor form!

Average service and below average breakfast. Average lunch. A restaurant that really had a great reputation many years ago, perhaps impacted by COVID regarding the limited number of staff on the floor. Had to chase service rather than it being provided. Would not bother to pay for breakfast - eat elsewhere.

Great service & views! As usual very average over priced food. Your better off having dinner at the Bistro which is opposite Cascades. Both owned by the company.
They have a deal at the moment of $69 for two courses. Not sure how that’s a deal but there was no option other than that.
A big no! Every season I give it a chance and every time it’s way below par.

Service excellent, good staff. Food very good. Sat next to a table of very young kids way past their bed times. ( 6.30 to 7.00 pm ?) Crying, screaming, noisy, running around with no parental control. Asked to be moved to another part of restaurant but refused. ( could see empty tables !) we were a booking, not a walkin.
Ruined our night

A superb meal with lovely wine. A great treat during our trip!
They had some very good vegan options and all meals were highly spoken of.

Absolutely disgraceful. Do not go there. Booked the expensive NYE dinner. Wine was undrinkable and food mediocre. Very disappointing experience
