We dine here once or twice a year- always great and this year was no exception. Excellent Covid plan and preparations- guest numbers limited. Drinks and entrees all as expected, a whole variety of burger mains, all hot, flavourful and perfectly cooked. Staff were knowledgeable. View up the mountains- wonderful. Highly recommend for families

The burgers are sensational.

The burgers are sensational. We had the firecracker burger which did not disappoint with flavour and heat and also the grilled chicken with bbq sauce and slaw. So much flavour packed into a burger, definitely one of the best burgers we’ve ever had. A great little restaurant with friendly staff. Tommy served us and he was lovely. Thank you. We would highly a visit here at least once when visiting Thredbo.

Best dinner in Thredbo - make sure you go!

Thredbo is a little village with very few dinner options that won't break the bank. Enter Burger Bar - ridiculously lovely welcome, staff are funny, kind and attentive. Food was so tasty and wholesome, full of flavour, without being greasy or overbearing. Covid rules adhered to by all. Prices the best you'll find in Thredbo - and they do traditional gluhwein too! What more could you want?

Disappointing

After all the good reviews I expected a reliable and tasty burger with a good atmosphere. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Stale bun, minimal flavour in the chicken burger, super salty and oil fries. Ordered one burger without onion (didn’t mention onion on the menu) only to find a pickle which was full of onion. Sent it back three times, the first two times I told there was no onion and on the third they finally agreed there was and offered a chicken burger instead. I won’t be going back - so disappointed this was the end result.

Strong Covid safe plan and great food

Lunched here with the family after a long hike - menu choices were comprehensive. Burgers were excellent and included bun-less options for those going lower carb. We were also very impressed with the strength of their Covid safe plan - well done!!

Best burgers ever

Visited for lunch for a family of 4. The quality of the food was second to none. The burger patties were thick and cooked perfectly (i know thats subjective), the buns were fresh and food presented very nicely. Staff were polite and accommodating, Steve is the man. Highly recomended.

Best Burgers On the Mountain

Best burgers on the mountain and the service was outstanding. Steve the owner is passionate about his business and it shows through his teams service and meal quality. Something for everyone there. We ate here multiple times during our stay.

Good quality and large meals Will definitely eat here again. Definitely need to book as is super busy. We arrived 10mins early and was told to sit at the bar for roughly 30mins before being seated we had a booking . No problem for us but would be annoying if u are on a tight schedule.

Burnt onion rings, cold chicken burger, overcooked beef burger. Only the wings were decent. Old male host made unnecessary rude, sarcastic comments over something as small as bringing (empty) outside drinks to the restaurant. If you ever visit let him know to learn some manners and hospitality to paying customers. Never coming back.

Great service and great burgers

This place takes the covid restrictions seriously, makes great burgers (juicy patty and really yummy relishes) and has a good atmosphere. We sat inside but there were also places to sit on the deck facing the river. They also had a pretty extensive drinks menu and options for different dietary requirements.

What a disappointment

HORRIFIED! Service AWFUL, Food incompetent, Hygiene Questionable, Ambience akin to Maccas playland. We sadly visited to the restaurant, we were looking forward to visiting the restaurant as we had heard good things about the venue. We booked the 7:30 sitting The restaurant had the ambience of a McDonalds play area with children running and yelling unrestrained by their careless guardians. Seated at our table I knew I was in trouble the table had no covering or napkins. Oddly there was cutlery, we were seated by a clueless staff that immediately left us. after some fifteen minutes were offered table water only. We weren't to receive a drinks menu nor offered any, we did eventually manage to order a drink from a waitress and oddly we were never offered another the entire meal. the food was so very disappointing and clearly put together by staff with little understanding of the menu set for them. Stupid things such as a Parfait served with 4, less than wafer thin slices of toasted bread roll. a request for more was met with "this isnt my station" were an ongoing part of the service. An Affagato served in a glass not large enough to accept the accompanying Franjalico shot , was the last straw and my complaint was met with but 'that's how we always serve it'. When I enquired with the manager how is it possible to consume it, I was met with a very rude "do you want a bigger glass" well yes! but we had all had enough by that stage and left. I get it is winter I get you cant get staff and patience is important in Threbo in winter. But seriously??no Table clothes, no napkins ,cutlery left on a table, I have no idea if it had been cleaned at all and service staff with no idea what they are serving, any idea of service or being left all night without a drink. I am not in the habit of writing poor reports and I actually own a property in the village but this place was the pitts.

Disappointed

Disappointing. We arrived at 5.30pm. It was empty. They gave us a table for 2 in the blazing sun. My daughter had the sun on her face the whole time. The place was empty but this was the only table offered. My daughter didn’t want to make a fuss so we didn’t move. The burger does not come with chips. Chips are additional 10 dollars and under cooked. Service was terrible. I guess if you come with a group ready to spend then the service might be better

Decent burgers but nothing to rave about

Good burgers - fresh and fair sizing. Maybe a little over-done (for my taste). The service was a little dysfunctional, particularly the payment system and host. Wait staff were all nice and attentive. Ambience was ok. We were in family hour, so noisy but ok.

Best burgers ever

Awesome burgers with a great smoky charcoal taste and a great little restaurant with a fantastic vibe. Lovely staff and everything on the menu tastes good, you can’t go wrong. Highly recommend.

Great burgers and friendly service

We went as a group of 7 - 2 x families. Burgers were great, as were the chicken wings but our order was mixed up a few times. The staff were quick to fix the issues. Service was friendly and efficient and the ambience was nice.
