Came here around 3.30 in the afternoon for a drink, large garden practically empty. Told we can’t sit there instead have to go to a small garden at the front by the road where every table was taken. Had to squeeze in a tiny table...by the bar. DisappointingMore

Went for dinner on a Friday evening in September with in-laws and couldn't fault a thing. The pub was busy and the atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing, everyone's food was excellent (delicious fish curry) and the staff were engaging and attentive, with nothing too...much trouble. Can't wait to go again.More

A group of us met for Sunday lunch. Had a nice table outside. Due to staff shortages there was no table service. Not an issue. Food came promptly but tasted very much like it was heated on the premises rather than prepared. Would not rush...back. Interesting that service was automatically applied even though we had to order at the bar.More

The Kings Head, as always, served good food along with friendly service in The Courtyard which is a lovely relaxed place to eat lunch on a warm day.

Had a lovely evening and nice meal here in the outside marquee area, which has been very well done, with heaters when it got a little nippy Food was nice and drinks good. Good atmosphere and will return again Only issue is if you order...at the bar, which you have to when outside they add service charge without letting you know, I only found out as I requested a receipt. Have no issues with tipping just like to be told about it.More

Second visit for us when dropping off our daughter to Uni. Great food, good atmosphere, attentive and pleasant staff who were happy to chat. The bill can tot up for four people with drinks and desserts (£147) but I guess that’s all relative to the...size of your bank account. All in all a very pleasant experience though. Just one point though. Because of Covid they have single use paper menus, which is good, but… they don’t recycle them… and that’s a lot of paper each week! If everyone mentioned it they might change their policy… if of course you disagree with their current policy of just putting them in the bin.More

I last reviewed the King’s Head in 2017 and was delighted to discover today that it is still excellent. Sunday lunch in the courtyard is a classy but relaxed affair. Loads of great fish options, the fish curry was delicious, and the savoury and sweet...soufflés looked amazing. The staff (thanks Justin) are incredibly professional, attentive and good at being kind. There are thoughtful touches like the option for a carafe rather than bottle of wine, and unlimited Sunday roast extras. The 2-course £20 option is a great option and excellent value. A wonderful place eat for a real treat and I look forward to returning again in the near future.More

We dined 3 times under the large canvas awning. On first night we each had a different dish - all tasty, but my beef bourguignon won by a mile, and since then we've all had beef bourguignon dinners. Absolutely amazing, the slow cooked beef simply...shredding under a fork and dissolving into the rich wine/onion gravy... Hmmmmm.... Dog and chat friendly place. Can't wait to get back. Note that it's bar service - you need to pick a table and then go up to the bar to order - if this makes a difference to you.More

Just because the restaurant has a connection with a famous chef doesn’t mean your going to get a good meal as we found out on a recent visit and sat in the garden. Overall service was good but the food was pretty awful, had the...fish curry which was simply a ripoff. One prawn and a piece of dried cod, obviously had been frozen, the worst part of the dish was the curry tasted like tomato soup which had a hint of spice added to it. Very overpriced for what they serve.More

Good afternoon, We have a small car park that gets quite busy but most of the surrounding roads are free. Cambridge road and Udney Park road are the closest. We look forward to seeing you next week. Kind Regards, Polly
