Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My 14 year old daughter went here to get herself some dinner before acting class, she’s been brought up with manners and isn’t rude, she went alone yet she was refused entry because she was under 18. She now has no choice but to starve...until she gets home at gone 8:30pm as her acting class is 6:30-8:30pm. I understand there are teenagers that are causing problems but you can’t punish all under 18s for that, it’s utterly ridiculous and they will be losing our custom in future. I wander if they did the same for other groups of people it would be ok?More

Have visited a couple of times recently, both times service has been dreadfully slow. Today there weren't that many people in yet had to wait 15 minutes for our meal (which I had seen come out and sit waiting at least 4 minutes before it...was given to us - I would have said something but the deliveroo drivers were kicking off at staff about having had to wait 'half an hour' so.....). Needless to say food was cold. Also door to toilets were locked. Inconvenient but also as it was a fire escape route highly dangerous and possibly even against regulations? There was an A4 sign stuck to the wall saying in case of a fire if the door was locked to leave by the front entrance. What if the fire was by the front entrance? Seeing as not many people when trying to open the door noticed the sign if there was a fire it's very likely this sign wouldn't be seen either so really not impressed (this was at 6pm and most of the people there where families so hardly a rough crowd that had to be kept out of the toilets for fear of damage being caused). Very poor and will not be returning. Just a note to say the staff where pleasant and polite, but just seemed incapable of keeping on top of what can't have been that many orders.More

We have rang straight away but this guy on the phone never mentioned his name...asked me to come and collect it next week when we are in Bury. Really what kind of answer that will be??? We order it for have it now not for blast next week. If I was me I would have deliver myself after made huge mistake. We end up with having nothing part from chips. What blady kind of service they provide for custerms. This blast policy has to be changed for good. Never again we will order bury on the rock Macdonald. The meals were very nice, staff did kind of have the can't be bothered attitude we ordered our food and it was well over quarter of an hour till it arrived and all these other people were being called up for their food and drinks,...we thought ours had been forgotton as the staff were all having a chat as there wasn't anymore people waiting for food etc, so asked about our meals and seconds later it arrived said they were waiting on new meat nobody had said even though we saw plenty of burgers going out, we did call in a different day for some mcflurrys we waited for them and didn't have the table service as previous time and they were there straight away, all pretty much clean, there was a big group of girls in there with their legs and feet on furniture shouting and generally being a nuisance the mangeress told them off about their behaviour, better in there the 2nd visit, would probably go back in there if wanting a McDonald's as the food was really nice,More

On walking through The Rock this morning, I became rather thirsty and needed a drink. As it was relatively early on, from what I could see, McDonald’s was the only establishment open at the time. I got to the till and requested, in my amicable...fashion, a cup of WARM TAPWATER. The till operative seemed taken aback by this not- so-complex whim and stated that I could not have just a cup of water, I would need to purchase something else. This to the best of my knowledge is not common practice at other such eateries, maybe somebody could please enlighten me to this notion?  I expressed this to the individual, but of course, I was indeed asking for a service, so presumably there would be a small monetary exchange for the use of a disposable drinking vessel. A sum of twenty pence did not seem so unreasonable. So, I paid for my WARMTAPWATER. At this, the individual proceeded to the automated beverage machine, pressed the button, and ‘Hey-Presto!’ Just like that, my delightful paper cup was instantly filled with ascalding aqueous solution. It was definitely non-potable at the time of being dispensed. Now, herein lies my grievance; although appearing at times like I should have arrived in Bury, via Calais on the back of a long-haul motorised vehicle, plausibly circa 2016 as a means of seeking refuge on British soil, I am in fact more than capable at expressing myself in the British Lingua Franca.- I refuse to don my Sunday best at approximately 7 o’clock in the morning. I do not hold any prejudices here, but as far as I am aware there are minimal requirements within competence of the English language for the employ of staff. On the presumption that this individual passed at least a GCSE whatsoever, or has an IELTS score of relative equivalency, my personal lexical selections of; ‘WARM’, ‘WATER’ and ‘TAP’ should not pose any difficulties. Had there been such a language barrier, this was not apparent and the vocal coach and/ or elocution tutor of the individual should be held in great esteem and said till operative is wasting their talents and would be better suited on the stage or screen. Now, being that I have a long- standing rapport of many years, with a colleague (a fair amount further up the hierarchy) of said individual, I doubt that it would be too painstaking to see some sort of resolve to this abysmal example of customer service. Now, Child, if I ever have the pleasure of crossing your path again, please have a slightly better comprehension of your native tongue. I am not expecting you to read high- endliterature in one step, but a progression onto something other than possibly stage two of the delightful Oxford Reading Tree scheme (those pretty little picture books with Biff, Chip, Kipper and Floppy, the dog) articles would be very much appreciated. My dear primary-school aged godchildren have a higher level of comprehension than this. If you do struggle with examples and sources, I can highly recommend several publications to you, (Usborne have some excellent highly illustrated reads) which are inexpensive and always available at our well-stocked local book shops. If you would like further help, I also recommend the several English language courses within the area- there are glowing reports of ESOL entry and pre-entry courses available in most local sixth form colleges. I had the option to use synonyms (Google if unsure) but as ‘tap’ seemed to be above you, I doubt I would have had much luck with ‘faucet’. Thankyou.    More

Visited mcdonalds today after a trip to the cinema, my son who is seven had a free meal ticket, we went to order and he wanted to hand the ticket over, now I know you have to be 16 to play makes no sense to...me if there being sold to children but hey, anyway the lady serving us looked at my son laughed at him and said no your not having a free meal your under 16, my son laughed and said no I'm seven thinking it was a joke, she then took the stickers off him and said you can't use it, she was very nasty I then said well I will use it then to which she said no coz you will give him the meal, it's a bloody chicken nuggets meal not a bottle of vodka,by this time my kids crying and saying sorry to the lady, that should have been the end I was going to pay for it all and sit down, but no she goes on to say he can't have an adult meal because they have stickers on. Absolutely disgusting behaviour towards a child over a free meal which I was willing to pay for anyway. We walked out in the end because she wasn't for listening to anything I had to say safe to say won't visit this mcdonalds again.More

I'm really sorry but I think that the new serving system is a load of (to state it politely) pants, called in today for 2 coffees, we waited 15 minutes for these which I also had to ask for. Since the new ordering system came...in where you order and pay then collect with your number is not a great idea. Whilst there today we were queuing to wait for collection and people behind us were waiting to be served, non of which knew which queue was which, at least please section off the 2 queues to make it easier for the customer. Also the staff were shouting out numbers of the orders that were ready for collection which were mainly food orders, I had to ask if anyone was dealing with the drinks, then was given our order, which had been left to one side for at least 5 minutes so wasn't the hottest. I'm really sorry McDonald's but you may think this is an improvement on the business side but please think about the customer first, as it wasn't just my opinion on the day.More
