We like Sal's

Sal's is a throwback before the chains took over restaurants. Privately owned with a nice menu and fully stocked bar; the ambience is quaint, food always good; and it is always very clean. I especially like their pasta alfredo w/chicken and they will make offr-menu items too if asked (prosciutto w/peas in a light alfredo sauce over penne is my fave). Not high end but nice.

Friendly restaurant with quality food.

Nice local restaurant. Efficient and friendly staff. Owner often stops by tables to greet. We have been here numerous times when in town and it never disappoints. Food selection is surprisingly large and quality is always good. Local favorite too.

We loved it. I wondered b/c of large menu sometimes places don't do everything well but they do! Large portions , fresh food, great tasting! Our server was one of the most attentive we have ever had. Manager was making the rounds and we like to see that in a place it is impressive. Just an unassuming place but really great food. We like the decor of the movie star pictures

May Give It another Try

I heard a lot about this place and was going by and thought I'd give it a try. My better half ordered a small steak salad and I heard great things about their calzones. After waiting 45 minutes after placing are order we flagged down our high school age waitress and asked if it would be any longer. Seeing everyone around us who came in after us had received their food. We weren't shocked when she came back with our food and said "it was great timing" , what she should have said was "I forgot about your order and it was setting back in the kitchen for a good 15-20 minutes. The steak salad was cold and my calzone was luke warm. I wanted to send in back but the better half stated we can't wait another 40 minutes. As my title suggest I may give it another try as I am not blaming the kitchen as the problem was with a young waitress who wasn't on top of things.

Quality eats but quantity slipping.

Lunch with co-workers. I visit Sal's often as their food quality is unsurpassed. I ordered the dinner spaghetti, which was tasty as always, but the size was uncharacteristically small. Now this is an Italian restaurant, and we all know that spaghetti is one of the cheaper things they can make, but twenty bucks for this small plate is ridiculous. Some other Italian joints offer endless pasta, and while I'm not asking for that, I would like a large portion for what I paid.

4th time there. Always happy with our choices-- whether full meal or eating "dinner" on the cheap from their happy hour offerings. Silly I haven't tried their pizza or calamari yet. Too bad neither is a select appetizer. Drinks are honest even during HH. I never return to a place trying to skimp on HH Not a very respectful way to treat your customers. Service is good and pleasant servers. A place this good seems to attract the right kind of servers and we all appreciate that.

First time at Sal’s and it was great!

Sal’s was recommended to us by a co-worker and we saw it had good Trip Advisor reviews so we gave it a try. We weren’t disappointed from the friendly staff and fast service to the delicious food. It was National Margarita day and they had a blueberry margarita special that I tried and it was so good. The food was expertly cooked, good presentation and tasted fantastic. Would definitely eat here again if I’m nearby.

Great Calzones!

Wanted to try this place when I saw it online and I have to say, their calzones are terrific! They put the sauce on the side (rather than inside, which I'm used to) and it was DELICIOUS! You can tell that it's homemade. Came here with my mom, partner & a friend and we all enjoyed it! My friend had a seafood dish and he said it was very good. My mother usually gets the lasagna, and she loves it. Service was good, my only complaint was the lackluster salad. Mostly iceberg (meh!), the dressing was delicious, but the salad was quite boring. That aside, I would go back.

It was pouring down rain and the umbrellas were turning inside out - 6 min until they opened and they refused to let us come in. Really? Over six minutes? Disappointing that a “down home” “locally owned” place wouldn’t have common courtesy for patrons. We waited only because we were meeting people. The soup was good, not over salted. Wait staff was fine. Just can’t agree with management (or whoever the guy telling us we had to wait outside was).

Amazing Dinner with Colleagues at Sal’s

Great service, huge portions and good times at Sal’s! Enjoyed a lovely post work dinner at Sal’s with work friends. Despite the restaurant being packed, our server was friendly and attentive. Our food was delicious and many of us had leftovers for lunch the next day will definitely return.

I have never had a bad meal here. It is consistently delicious. Food is always hot. The salad dressings are homemade and so good. Service excellent. The bar side is a little noisy, but you can always sit on the other side.

The atmosphere is cozy and casual, our waiter Ty was great, but the food is lacking. We got fish sandwiches that smelled fishy but tasted ok. Nothing special. We really should have sent them back. We got cheese quesadillas, and you could taste the burn on them. Fries and coleslaw are just ok. This is our second time going there. First was in the winter and all I remember is we felt cramped, and it was cold and the food was just ok. It reminds me how good home cooked food is. And it's much cheaper, too. So after two visits, I'm going to move on.

Way too cold!!

Went to Sal's last night for dinner, around 8:00. My mother-in-law, sister-in-law, wife, and myself. It was cold outside; low 40s - and it was freezing in the restaurant. So cold that we ate wearing our winter coats. My elderly mother-in-law even wore her winter gloves. The waitresses claim that they are unable to turn on the heat; the owner & manager both keep it turned off. My prime rib was good but was ice cold within five minutes. I was tempted to simply get up and leave but the ladies were hungry, so we stayed & shivered. We spent over $100 on our meal (a lot for this little place); we liked the food, we liked the service, but we did not enjoy our dinner due to the cold and... we will not return. They may have saved a few bucks on the utility bill but they lost customers - that's bad business.
