Hard to believe it's been over 3 years since my last review, in part because there are two other very good Mexican restaurants in Sand Springs: El Patron and Mi Pueblo. We usually eat out in Tulsa. Today we got to El Maguey about 2pm...and as expected it wasn't crowded at all. Immediately greeted at the door and shown to the first booth in the hallway right in front of the door. The booth next to it was being used by staff who were conversing amongst themselves and preparing what looked like take-out sacks. We were quickly brought chips and a nice spicy salsa but no napkins. 7 or 8 minutes later our waiter brought out some napkins and individual forks in a paper bag. I got a Dos Equis Amber draft ($5.49) and my wife got Dr. Pepper ($2.25). We both ordered a lunch special (served until 3pm), Lunch Avocado Chicken Enchilada with rice and charro beans ($8.10 apiece). It came out quickly. Staff were all wearing masks and it appeared very clean. They gave us menus, but the menu can also be scanned from each table's QRC code. My wife's Dr. Pepper ran out and I had to put my mask on and track down our waiter for a refill. He was very pleasant but a little inattentive. The meal, including tax came to $26.08 ($23.94 before tax). I tipped him $10. All in all it was a pleasant meal.More

We ate dinner here. The facility is clean and well maintained. The service was good and the food was very good, well above the average Mexican Food restaurant. We would eat here again if we were back in the area.

A great meal, we carried out because were BUSY. Good service and lots of servers were working. The little cantina at the front door is a little quirky it worked while waiting! We'll be back often when it's not the busy dinner hours!

My son and I dined at El Maguey last night. We have been there before, but usually take the food to-go and eat at home. It is a converted Burger King, so they have a drive-thru for call in order pick-up. They close at 9:30...p.m. on weekends, and we got there about 9 p.m. The restaurant was still busy with most tables occupied. We we sat at a booth and our drink order was taken. Chips & salsa were brought with our drinks. Their house-made salsa is very good. Just the right amount of spice. I had the Quesadilla Loca. It is massive. Steak, Chicken, Shrimp, Bacon. It is really delicious. My son had the 4 Cheese enchiladas and 2 soft tacos. We often get the street tacos to take home. Everything we have had has been really good. Prices are moderate. Good service & friendly atmosphere.More

Everything about our visit was FANTASTIC! Service was super, food was phenomenal, drinks were great, bathrooms and restaurant very clean! We will DEFINITELY be back!

Have eaten here many times since they opened in Sand Springs quite a few years ago, and they moved to their current location about 2 years ago. (?) Casual with booths and tables. Outside seating patio area available. Clean bathrooms. Bright decor & pleasing to...the eye. Quick service, friendly faces. They can usually accomodate larger families with little problem. The place can get noisy but it's a happy kind of noisy. Bar area with big screen TVS which usually have some type of a sport on. Great margaritas. Good food, chips and salsa are included, plus their guacamole is always great! I love their chicken tortilla soup, it has such a fresh taste! Many of their other dishes are good too, along with some kid plates and American dishes, lots to choose from so everyone can get something they will like. Give them a try, i think you will enjoy it!More

Delicious food, a little pricey to me. I wished they had a lunch special, maybe they do now. I haven't been in awhile. Good service, very attentive. Nice upscale environment.More

While I am not that big on Me I can/Southwest food my wife loves it. So finding things on a menu becomes sometimes difficult. What I found and totally enjoyed was what I will call Mexican Surf & Turf. Served with retried beans and rice...and fresh tortillas this was excellent. Delicately seasoned, steak perfectly cooked beans creamy rice done to proper consistency. Range of traditional dishes too. Homemade tortilla chips are off the hook!More

Food is average. Service average. New building didn’t make it any better. Also are are not large crowd friendly. Turned down large catering opportunity with little bother. Won’t be going there again. Go to El Tequila! Great food AND service!

First time-Not last time Very clean and friendly atmosphere! I had Chili Verde. Excellent. Beans have wonderful flavor and good tortillas. Salsa not screaming hot. Hooray. Burrito Ballarita was large, filling and yummy.!!! Everything reasonable in price. New and lovely atmosphere. I’ll come back soon!

Our family has been here too many times to count and the food has always been top notch. Good service as well.

Our group visited El Maguey today at lunch. Highly recommend. If you follow me her you'll know we love Mexican food so this was another winner in our travels. I had the shrimp tacos and they came with a special sauce on the side. Actually...two but one was a corn/mango salsa. One of our group had to share his queso it was so delicious. Give this new restaurant a try!More
