Very Good Buffet

While traveling with my GF to visit her family in Marion, OH, she suggested that we try the Hong Kong Buffet. She has been gone for about 6 years, but as soon as she walked in, she was greeted with a smile and a "have not seen you in a long time." I was impressed that the staff would remember. The buffet is set up in a manner that allows easy access. Although some people seem to "charge" at a buffet and forget the fundamental rules of public dining. The food was properly prepared and our party sampled a vast majority of the items without any negative comments or complaints. All of the food items were properly heated and/or chilled as required and there were plenty of food available. It was a busy Sunday afternoon, and I did not see anyone having to wait for food because the buffet ran low. The service is exceptional, even when patrons were grossly insistent on selective attention, the staff never floundered, and immediately provided an answer to every request made of them. It was also reasonably priced. For 3 of us, it was about $28.00 USD. I was impressed with my first visit and will make sure to visit on my next trip to Marion.

This buffet has a good selection of food. Sometimes they are slow in refilling the pans of food and the food cools down but the food is good and I'd go back.

The food is usually good and there is a generous variety of things to choose from. The buffet makes it quick and convenient.

Not as good as it used to be

The Hong Kong buffet is pretty much what you would expect from a Chinese buffet type restaurant in the USA. I had not been to the Hong Kong buffet for a few years, but it was definitely not as good as I remember it from my earlier visits. The number of choices was a lot less. The food was not as hot as it probably should have been. The food was generally pretty bland, mostly fried, and generally oily.

Server Fed My Kid After I Said No

The food is usually good and I like the staff most of the time, but last night we had a server that would not listen. As she was cleaning up plates, she took my 5 year old's spoon and started feeding him rice from his plate that he was done with despite me waving my hand and clearly saying "no, he's done" twice, and he was too polite to feel comfortable saying no himself. She got two spoonfuls before she stopped and went to the other side of me and was about to do it to my 3 year old until I told her "no, he didn't like it". To top off the night, my 5 year old threw up later that evening when we got home because he ate too much (and was forced more), and my husband and I got to clean it up. I understand she was trying to be nice, there's a language barrier, and my kids are cute, but I repeated exactly what she asked him first that he was done, and I shouldn't have to say "no" 3 times before someone listens. I grew up going to this place and it's always had the same great owners, but if I can't trust the staff to listen to my requests with my children then I can't come back.

Great food and service at such a low price

Went to this buffet for my first time with family on Sunday noon. Wow! I was totally impressed with the four food bars. So much to pick from. Everything was delicious and I was surprised by the low price. We fed a family of five for a little more than $60.

Good Chinese Food

WE like to eat Chines at times while out traveling or shopping. WE have been to this one many times. Once i was there by myself and the woman at the checkout ask where my wife was. Nice that she remembered us. Always a good meal with the buffet.

Average Oriental Buffet

Ate lunch here on a Sunday. was surprised to see that the price was not higher on the weekend. Menu consisted of the normal Chinese buffet selections. No peanut chicken though. The rest of the food was hot and cooked well. Nothing special to report about the Hong Kong Buffet, pretty much like all the others. Have eaten here in the past and always been satisfied when I leave

Good food

I eat here frequently. The staff is friendly and the restaurant seems clean. The buffet is your regular Chinese buffet. They have chicken, pepper steak, rice, all your usual Chinese food. At lunch they have garlic bread and then at dinner sometimes they change it up with crab legs, frog legs, pork chops. The price is decent and the food is usually fresh!

Like any other buffet...if you can handle it.

Just like all the rest. If you love a buffet, you'll like this place. Cheap food, and alot to choose from. You may have an upset stomach later due to product quality, but if you're used to buffet quality foods...you'll be ok.

Just a run of the mill Chinese buffet

This place is just average. Nothing that sets it apart from other buffet restaurants, but the food is acceptable and the service is good. Not bad, but nothing great either.

Just Average.

My wife and I frequently dine out and have been here just once. I enjoy Chinese food far more than my wife and even I found this restaurant to be average at best. The price is very reasonable, and if one is seeking quick/cheap eats, it's for you. I found the food to taste charred and slightly undesirable in appearance.

Frog legs taste like chicken

Hong Kong Buffet has all the usual Chinese buffet dishes and adds a few surprises. On a recent rainy Friday night, they had crab legs (no extra charge like some places) and frog legs. I can attest that they do in fact taste like chicken. My wife has to avoid gluten but didn't just have to eat a salad. There's plenty of sushi, fruits, and veggies as well. I always enjoy the dessert table because there's more than two or three choices. I usually get tapioca, carrot cake, and two or three other little cakes. The parking lot is huge and the noise level was low even with a full restaurant. I enjoy listening to the staff talk to each other in Chinese as they work.

Like imitation Chinese?

Oh, I love it. It'sw a buffet style with servers that don't speak much English, but the food, Chinese style, is always good and they're always replenishing the pots. The food ranges from rice to beef and shrimp to salmon and vegetable selections. There are crab Rangoon, sliced cantaloupe, a couple puddings, chocolate cakes, machine do-it-yourself soft serve ice cream, just so much good stuff.
