I travel to Marion for business and have been disappointed by the generic selection of mostly chain restaurants. Now that I’ve discovered Tackett’s, I have something to look forward to. This place has awesome smoked baby back ribs! The Carolina gold sauce is the perfect compliment since the ribs are served with just a dry rub. Prices are reasonable and the service was very friendly and fast. Everything is well packaged for takeout. Can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. How this isn’t rated as the #1 restaurant in Marion is beyond me.

Tackett's has great bar-b-que and a variety of side dishes at very reasonable prices! I rated they a '4' only because there isn't much in the way of inside seating, but they have some picnic tables outside for when the weather is nice. However, they serve their food packaged as 'take out', so you can take your food to eat wherever you'd like!
Check their hours before you go because they aren't open every day....but it's well worth it to return on a day they are open!!

The brisket was tender and delicious, the beans smokey . We had the Carolina mustard sauce, nice tang without being too vinegary. Small area for inside eating, larger area outside.

Had lunch here one Saturday while in town on business. A coworker and I both got the sliced brisket sandwich with beans and potato salad. The beans and potato salad were good and tasty, but the brisket was more like roast beef. No smoke ring, very dry, with very little flavor. It was more like pot roast than brisket. They had KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce, so that perked it up a little. I was willing to go back and try the pulled pork, but couldn’t convince my co worker into a “do-over”.

This is small BBQ stop with BIG flavor. I love Tackett's, it has quickly become my favorite place to get BBQ - just about my favorite place to eat overall! The pulled pork is smoky and never dry, but actually juicy and tender. The sides are also great - on most days the baked beans are as smoky as the meat, with a sweet side as well. The mac n cheese is delectable, and the corn bake is a great choice as well. I even had Tackett's cater my wedding! Be prepared as the eat-in area is small, but there is also covered outdoor seating and carry-out. Regardless of how you try it, you've got to make a trip here and let your taste buds experience BBQ perfection!! It will not disappoint.

Stopped for lunch and had the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and fries. Everything was very good! Loved it all. The pork was some of the best I have ever had and they don't drowned it in sauce...if you want to do that yourself, go ahead, but they leave it plain and that's the way I like it!! I will return!!

The food is really good here! Love the beef and Mac and cheese. I just wish the food wasn't as expensive as it is. Other than that, it's great!

I got married in October of 2016, and as I was searching for a caterer for my 130+ guest event. I wanted good Southern BBQ at an affordable price. I ran across Tackett's when searching for "BBQ restaurants near me", and immediately started up a Facebook conversation with the owner to ask questions about catering. He was exremely helpful and answered all my questions - he also encouraged me to stop in the restuarant to try out the food - which I did a few days later. I was NOT disappointed! The food was very reasonably priced and SO delicious! After having my family also try the food, we all agreed we had to have it for the wedding! When I told people who tried the food how much we paid for the catering, they were shocked! Such GREAT food for a GREAT price. They were also extremely helpful through the whole catering process. I HIGHLY recommned both their restaurant and their catering services!
PS - They have the BEST mac n' cheese and the smokiest baked beans I've ever tasted!

Never a hit or miss experience, this place always hits the spot, I recommend people try their Carolina Gold sauce. Better than all of the BBQ in Ohio I've tried so far.

I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal from Tackett's. The ribs fall of the bone, the pulled pork is always tender as is the brisket. I don't know what ingredients are in the dry rub they use but it must be as guarded a secret as KFC's! Limited seating inside but I usually get it to go anyway. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. Definitely worth a try!

Tackett's opened a few months ago at Pole Lane and Harding Hwy 309 E in the former site of a cupcake shop. I finally got a chance to get over there on a weekday evening and came away with some good southern BBQ. Tackett's has sandwiches, meals, and "sundaes" with a layer of beans, a layer of cole slaw, and a layer of meat. Sorry, no cherry on top! I had a sausage meal and everything was good. The cole slaw wasn't too sweet or runny, the beans were thick and smoky, and the sausage sandwich with Carolina Gold sauce was good as well. The place is fairly small but has parking, indoor and outdoor tables, and a drive through. Tackett's is also accessible and accepts credit cards.
