Better than average diner

We had breakfast. The eggs were good, the hash browns were good, the toast was good. the coffee was good. The rib eye steak that comes with the steak and eggs was not the best, And some of our group had the sausage gravy, but were not recommending it. There were two servers and the place was busy, but still, they could have been friendlier.

It's not a good breakfast at all.

We stopped here today for breakfast. Walking in, the place is nice and clean. Our waitress Tammy seemed like a Grumpy old lady and probably should not be a waitress. We were seated near the restrooms where there was an odor of sewer gas. We were told it's because the roof leaks in the women's bathroom, and it's an old McDonald's building. Excuses... My son ordered pancakes with bacon. They were just ok. My wife asked for poached eggs. The waitress told her that it would be a long time because they had to boil water. So she ordered scrambled eggs and home fries with rye toast. She didn't like any of the food. I tried country fried steak with scrambled eggs, home fries, and rye toast. The potatoes were ok, as was the eggs. The country fried steak, and the sausage gravy was awful. I couldn't even eat it. We definitely will not be back. The prices are reasonable, the service could be better and the food....yuck!

Good little place for breakfast

Had our once a month breakfast at the Marion Diner. As usual, we were seated immediately by friendly waitress at a clean and comfortable booth. The special menu for breakfast was at the entrance with several options, all reasonably priced. We selected an omelet and a short stack of pancakes with the endless cup of coffee. The service was quick, the food tasty and right out of the kitchen. The room had a number of people talking and enjoying their meal, yet it is not noisy and we could talk and easily hear each other. It is a diner nothing fancy nor exotic; just good home cooking with enough to eat, good home fries, and “endless coffee.” A nice place for breakfast.

Worst excuse for a breakfast That I have ever had!!!

Service great atmosphere okay food you couldn't eat Sausage gravy and biscuit the gravy tastes like wallpaper paste the bacon was more like sizzle lean not even Crispy coffee was served in a cup the size of a child tea set and it was so weak you could have read the newspaper through it.

Food Was Terrible

We came in looking to buy a cheap meal. But it definitely wasn't worth it as my whole family woke up puking the next day. It started out OK we got seated immediately, probably because no one was there. The meat was still cold when they served it. The eggs ungodly cold probably made during breakfast as we were eating there for dinner. The only thing good was the Root beer and that tasted pretty flat. Don't even give this piece of crap a 1 star.

Nice Little Diner with huge selection!

Was travelling though the area and stopped in to this diner to be surprised at the extensive menu this place had to offer. Breakfast foods, Greek and Italian options along with traditional American fare. The prices could not be beat and the service was fast and friendly.

Pleasant and efficient

Good, wholesome food served efficiently and with pleasantness. Comfortable, calm environment. No issues whatsoever for an Englishman enjoying a new culture and having a nice day.

Early morning breakfast before golf

My brother and I stopped at this location before an early round of golf. Our breakfast was perfectly made to order and the service was exceptional. The amount of "regulars" there was impressive.

Hidden Treasure

While in Marion, OH on business I decided to try to find a locally owned restaurant for breakfast. The service here was great at this little mom and pop and the food was fantastic. The home fries I had with my eggs reminded me of my grandmothers cooking. Do yourself a favor if you are in Marion stop by ...you won't be disappointed.

Breakfast blues

The place is clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly and prompt....but... The food was cool, bland and not well made. The biscuit was soggy (like it was held in a steamer) and salty. The sausage gravy had 2 tiny pieces of sausage in it. The potatoes were cold and the coffee was bitter. Not impressed at all...

A local secret

The Marion Diner is at the south end of Marion just past Kroger. It served breakfast all day long before a certain national chain did. Other menu features include daily specials and all you can eat fish. We had the spaghetti with homemade meatballs, garlic bread, and the soup of the day which was chicken noodle (with bow tie noodles). Did not leave hungry. Service was prompt, although apparently not fast enough for some guy who came in after we did, kept checking his watch, sighing, and finally got up and ;left when our orders came. There is plenty of parking and the diner is accessible. Did not check the restrooms, but the rest room sign is stained glass made by a local company. If they make the sign that nice, I'm sure the facilities are adequate. Carry out orders are taken and there is a children's menu.
