We are here in Marietta to visit the museum earth works and are spending the night at the Lafayette Hotel. This lovely little spot is right across the street. They were surprisingly busy for a Wednesday; now I know why.. the food is delicious!!! Ahi tuna was prepared artfully, to order, the vegetables were crisp and fresh... the mashed sweet potato could have substituted for a dessert. My husband had the lamb and was equally impressed. We split a red velvet cake that was moist and flavorful!!!

I really liked this place. I'd like to come again if ever traveling through Marietta in the future. So many items on the menu we'd like to try. We loved our dinners. I did not rate it excellent because the bartender was our server and he was busy tending bar so the service was average. He never came to check on us after serving and any time we needed anything I had to signal him and wait. I would rather have had one of the servers that was not tending bar. Other than that, it was very good.

We were staying just across the street at the Lafayette Hotel on June 24, 2022. We talked to a local who recommended Austyn's (among a couple of other places) for dinner. Since it was just a walk across the street from the hotel, we chose Austyn's and super happy we did.
We called ahead for a reservation since it was a Friday evening. We chose 6:30 PM. When we arrived the place was rapidly filling up with customers, but we were seated immediately in a very cozy booth next to the bar. Our server was Joy, who came to us within 2 minutes. She was so kind and friendly. She brought us ice water not only in glasses but included a carafe of water as well. We then ordered glasses of Los Vascos - a Chilean cabernet along with an appetizer of the Prawn Prosciutto. WOW! such a delicious way to start a meal, the prawns were very large and succulent, perfectly cooked. For entrees, my wife had the Eastern European Tenderloins and I had the Rack Of Lamb. For sides, she had the Sweet Mashed Potatoes and I had the Wasabi Mashed Potatoes. Everything was wonderful, my only slight negative was that the lamb was a bit undercooked. Still delicious though.
For dessert, we shared the Bread Pudding with two more glasses of that nice Chilean wine. Service and ambiance were the best. Our heartful thanks to our server Joy for making it a really wonderful evening. She is an awesome person.

Food was okay but honestly not the best I've ever had. The kids meal was inedible and my daughter didn't finish hers (chicken nuggets were like leather). The Mediterranean pasta was just okay though ($23 with shrimp) and even a kids meal should be chewable. It was the waitress's first night so I'm trying to be understanding but she initially told me my meal came with a a salad, then she said she wasn't sure but laughed and said she'd bring me one anyway, then when the bill came I saw there was a $2.99 charge for it (I never asked for a salad and really didn't want a salad). No big deal but then we ordered two desserts to go and paid $8 for each and she gave me the wrong thing. Didn't discover it until we were gone. Again it was her first night so I understand she was maybe nervous. But for $58 bill for two people I would expect more.

We were told that this was one of the best in town. It was average. Staff was friendly, to a point. Wait staff needs instruction in courteous way to serve and present food. I had chicken and my husband had salmon, both of which were over-cooked and tough. Portions were plentiful, but if the flavor is only average, who cares?

We went for dinner and found it full, even for a weekday. Both dinners came with a very nice salad. My lamb ($29) was done medium as requested but only 3 ribs left me hungry. The Duck ($26) was done just right and the sauce was on the side as requested. The service was excellent and the wine was fairly priced. The accompanying wasabi mashed potatoes were not very good in my opinion. Plain potatoes would have been better. I have to say we were disappointed about the promise of "outside seating" which consisted of two cheap sets of tables and chairs out on the sidewalk - a major disappointment. We really wanted an outside table but this was unacceptable, hence the 3 star rating in spite of the fact the food was 4 star(except for the potatoes). I'd go back but with reservations.

We took an anniversary trip to Marietta since we love history and river towns. I spent a lot of time researching where we should have that special meal for our anniversary. I chose Austin's, and we weren't disappointed. It was everything I had hoped for-- attentive waitress (thank you, Chelsea), white tablecloth, good wine, relaxing music, and wonderful food. We would highly recommend chosing this upscale restaurant for any occasion in Marietta.

Expect to make reservations on weekends at this quaint restaurant in downtown. We enjoyed spinach artichoke dip, beef medallions, Austyns chicken. All were delicious. Great price for what you get. Excellent service.

The food was its usual high quality. The crab rolls are very good and the Spicy Shrimp soup is exceptional. Sometimes the soup is not shown on the menu but ask for it. I have eaten it several times. The service sometimes is not as good as it should be but the food is worth it. We continually eat there.. Don't miss the opportunity to eat there but get a reservation.

The restaurant was very nice. We did not have a reservation but were seated promptly. The server was very professional, pleasant and efficient. The chardonnay selection was unusual and the wine I chose was refreshing and very citrusy. My husband enjoyed his beef choice and I had lamb which was very good. I felt the salad tasted like a bottled dressing and the sides weren’t great or at least not quite to my taste. I had a kind of potato pancake which tasted like veggie leftovers in garlic mashed potatoes. But the overall experience was good.

Ordered rack of lamb. When it was delivered to my table, first impression was "where is the rest of it?" I'm talking 3 ribs, with maybe 1.5 oz of meat in each piece, ok cool, so I take a bite... Raw, not raw in a sense of "cooked" and then cooled down, but room temperature raw, like it sat out for hours, then they slathered some raspberry sauce on it and sent it out. Terrible.

Had 630 reservations and was sat at 7:10. Did not get anything to eat until 8:15. Not even bread. The waitress was apologizing about the kitchen, even though tables next to ours who came in long after we did were getting served.
We got out appetizers 1:15 later. And then after being there for 2 hours the waitress told us “bad news, the kitchen is out of the New York Strip”.
2 hours after our reservation and they decide to tell us that what we order wasn’t available any longer.
Absolute horrible experience. I saw others tables having the same problem. A couple on their anniversary experienced the same thing. In fact it was kinda of a common issue that everyone I spoke with in the restaurant had the same problem.
I asked to speak with the manager and was told he was busy - never again !

We started with Margaritas and an artichoke dip. The did was wonderful. We had the fish pasta and the Chief's special, a blackened Filet with a roast tomato and mashed potatoes. We shared a Creme Brulee for desert. Service was attentive. Food was very good. We were glad we made a reservation for the Friday night we were there

My wife says she had the best meal of her life at Austyns! She had a filet with wine sauce and I had the Ocean Feast which is lobster tail and crab cake. Our server was Matthew, a true professional. Everything about this restaurant is the best and beats anything in Chicago. Outstanding cocktails and appetizers. We went back the very next night and it was just as good!

I dined here the last night of my stay at the hotel across the street. It was very good. I had made an Open Table reservation for Monday but found them closed due to Labor Day. I was able to re book for the next night. The server steered me to a wahoo fish dish that was excellent. It had a char-broiled taste and that was great. The lobster cream sauce was not thick, thankfully. There were several small shrimp in the sauce. The veggie was a squash that was surprisingly grilled well, as I am not a squash lover. The rolls were very good and soft. I was able to get a nice white wine with the meal and had a glass of porto in place of dessert, which looked great. Teh porto pour was very skimpy for $10. If I am back in town, I will eat here again.
