About
The Galley has been a Marietta gathering place for generations. The Galley is quite literally in the center of Historic Downtown Marietta and continues to be the hub of its entertainment world. Marietta College students and alumni meet each other for Homecoming, Graduation, reunions and formals here. Business people hold meetings, client dinners, seminars and banquets with us. Travelers have been delighted with our cuisine and atmosphere. Of course, our beloved locals have turned The Galley into the Mid-Ohio Valley's hot spot for Happy Hour, Wing Nights, Mug Club Mondays, friendly meetings, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, birthdays, and sometimes "just because". We are on a culinary mission to provide Marietta and the surrounding Mid-Ohio Valley with the most interesting and best quality food possible. Our Culinary Director has designed a menu based upon fresh ingredients, quality meats and vegetables, unique flavors and familiar favorites. The Galley's culinary perspective sits at the crossroads of neighborhood gastropub and high-end steak house. Tapping into the local dining scene takes just that - taps. And guess what, we have 24 of them. We also carry well over 50 bottled beers and a 6-page beverage menu that will make you drool. Three antique bars serve specialty libations, rotating craft brews, domestic beers, aged whiskies and even cigars! In an effort to keep the newest and best selection for our customers, we host craft brew and wine dinners. These limited ticket evenings pair seasonal beers and wines with multi-course meals and live entertainers for a distinctive culinary experience.

This restaurant is located on the ground floor of a restored/historic hotel so it’s ambience is unique and charming. The craft beer options are plentiful and I ordered a flight sampler. The Elvis Juice was my favorite but all others would be good choices too - served very cold. We ordered a chicken salad and a bacon cheeseburger, both of which were tasty. As happy as we were, the thing we remember most was the exceptional service provided our charming server, who was warmly conversational but not intrusive. Bravo, Megan!

Two of us dined here on an early Friday evening. We each had a Manhattan cocktail (delicious) and a glass of Cabernet with dinner. We shared the goat cheese, pear and pecan salad as an appetizer. This was a brilliant flavor profile, especially with the recommended poppy seed vinaigrette. I had the seafood and shells pasta, which had shrimp, calamari, bay scallops and vodka sauce. My friend had the sausage Bucatini. We both agreed they were among the best pasta dishes we've ever had. The seafood in my dish tasted very, very fresh. We each had an espresso to complete the experience. The presentation for the espresso was the best I'd ever seen, served with a dark chocolate dipped dried orange peel, a tiny biscotti and a lump of raw sugar. Everything, including the service, was truly fantastic.

We came here after reading a few reviews (thank you fellow advisors!!) Lunch was fabulous. We sat outside on a lovely patio dining area. I had the goat cheese, berry, pecan mixed greens salad and my husband ordered the codfish sandwich. Both were wonderful. A cup of the sweet corn bisque was the perfect starter. This is a great place to visit when in Marietta.

Recently stayed in the quaint town of Marietta, and wanted a nice dinner. During our walk in downtown we arrived at The Galley. Wonderful place. The staff was so very friendly, and our waitress was so kind, sweet and just did an amazing job. The food was perfect, i actually just ordered 2 appetizers for my dinner, crab cakes, and the brussell sprouts, both were to die for. My husband ordered salmon and it was in fact cooked to perfection, and i note the waitress did in fact indicate the best way to order the salmon. I can not wait to go back when I am in the area again, as there are so many items on the menu I can not wait to try.
We sat outside on the patio and it was just lovely.

Service was excellent and the food was even better. For a party of seven to be seated, enjoy a meal including dessert at a relaxed pace, and be out in a little over an hour, is quite an accomplishment.
Several of our party ordered burgers and all were very happy with their meal. I had the Tuscan Brick Chicken. Tender and tasty and if you like mushrooms, you’ll love the mushroom risotto. The lemon and thyme sauce on the salmon was so good the guys made sure they didn’t leave a single drop on the plate. Finished off with an awesome dessert. Very nice evening and I look forward to going back.

Had dinner here Saturday night with my family when we stayed overnight in Marietta. Really enjoyed our meal! The food was great as were the cocktails. The crispy Brussels sprouts were some of the best I’ve had. My son and I had steaks that were cooked just as we requested. Daughter-in-law had the Tuscan chicken and loved it. Six yr old granddaughter had chicken strips and fries and ate all the chicken - unusual for her. Ice cream came with her meal. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is pretty large, colorful, and lively. Would definitely go again if I were in the area.

Didn't see any ghosts, but the food was good! I had the buttermilk hot chicken sandwich and my husband had the grilled Reuben. Both were delicious. Very filling, so make sure you come hungry. The Galley makes their own potato chips, which are AMAZING!

First, I love the beautiful, old-fashioned polished oak bar. The building is historic and looks the part. For those who don't want a dark interior, there is pleasant outdoor seating. The food is first-rate, and there are about 8 beers on tap and a wide selection of bottled beers and wine. The variety of the menu and the quality of the food may be the best in Marietta.

We were having difficulty finding quality food at other local restaurants and we are glad we stopped in here. Had a goat cheese and pear salad with a homemade dressing. It was very good. My son had boneless wings which were some of the best I’ve tried. Great flavors.

Found this place on drive thru of Marietta, such a great find. Marietta is so lucky to have The Galley, fine dining and so enjoyable way to spend some time. The service as good the food was first class. The Butternut Squash soup was wonderful, a soup i'm still dreaming of and wishing i could have again. We all both loved our burgers. The French Onion Burger was very good, The Olive Burger was delicious. And the fries and home made chips excellent. Closing with a very nice pumpkin brule. Overall, so jealous of living where this restaurant is. Highly recommended.

My husband ordered a rib-eye steak. It was perfectly cocked as medium rare and tender. My cauliflower salad was great. Roasted crisp tender with laced Parmesan cheese, radish on the bed of spring greens. Definitely a repeat

Outstanding food and service during both of our visits. Very friendly bar staff. Meals were quality freshly prepared and well presented. We had a burger, boneless wings with raspberry BBQ sauce and French onion soup. Each was spot on. Also had a great chocolate cake dessert. We will definitely be back. Perfect meals and drinks when staying at The Hackett hotel upstairs.

We decided to eat lightly; we had a big dinner planned. I got the chili. My wife got the hummus. The chili was delish. I loved the hummus, too, but my wife didn't; it was too spicy for her. (A warning about the spice would have been helpful.) So she finished the chili and I finished her hummus. As usual, good atmosphere, good food, and good service.

Awesome goat cheese pear salad! I had mine with shrimp. I had the goat cheese, strawberry salad last week and it was so good that I took my wife this week to share in the experience. The goat cheese salad had changed this week to goat cheese pear. I was hesitant, but ordered it anyway. It very much did not dissapoint. Obviously their chef has very exquisite taste buds. What a great pairing of pears, pecans, dressing and greens. I'm looking forward to his next creation. A great lunch experience. Oh and the service was excellant as well.

Stopped in for a nightcap on a Saturday night after a show at the Peoples Bank Theatre with friends visiting from out of town. The bar is very nice, well stocked and staffed with attentive bartenders. A live show was going on next door and it was so loud you couldn’t carry on a conversation while sitting at the bar. Not a good place for a casual drink when there is a live show happening at the Adelphia Music Hall.
