A Good Time at Skinny's

We stopped by Skinny's recently for lunch on the recommendation of a Kenton area resident and were pleasantly surprised. Though there were a lot of cars in the lot (indicating Skinny's a popular spot), we didn't have to wait for a table for the 5 of us. Two of our party had the fried bologna sandwich, a 3/4 in thick slice on a toasted bun, and they said it was outstanding. The rest of us had varied menu items, soup and salad, taco salad, and each item was generous and good. But the highlight of the meal was the waitress, an older lady who made the meal a totally fun experience with her humorous quips and interaction with our group. We'll definitely return when we're in the area again.

Right Next To The Tracks, You Gotta Go!

Skinny's has great bar food and very low prices. Great burgers, incredible shredded chicken sandwiches, twice fried french fries, the list goes on. Service is friendly, fast, and helpful. The atmosphere is small town cozy.

Skinny's Tavern (Great comfort Food)

I just moved here from Santa Fe New Mexico. I happen to google best hamburger in Kenton, it brought up Skinney's Tavern. The burger and fries are as advertised. Very very good. I truly recommend this as a go to spot for great comfort food.

Good tavern food; poor service

Good food but horrible service that bordered on rude. We won’t be back. Had been here years ago and always remembered their good burgers. The good: Cheeseburger, fries, BLT, pickle fries and chocolate cream pie were all good. Very affordable prices. Clean place, plenty of parking. The bad: Service was poor start to finish. Slow. Inattentive. Bad attitudes. We were greeted when we came in and told we could grab seats at the bar or wait for a table to open so we grabbed seats at the bar. There are maybe 8 total seats at the bar and 3 were taken. And then we were ignored for the next 10+ minutes - no water, no we’ll be with you in a few, completely ignored. We were preparing to leave. A server came over and said looks like we’ve been waiting for awhile. We told her we were getting ready to leave as we’re on our way to the basketball game. She took our order and brought waters. Then nothing for another 30 minutes, no refill on our water. Meanwhile the servers stood around the counter complaining among themselves and with another couple at the bar about not feeling well, not wanting to be here and about one another. Finally 40 minutes after arrival, we had our sandwiches and our water refilled. Server never came back with our bill. Finally after being there for an hour, we went to the end of the counter to try and pay - and they rung our bill up wrong ($20 too much). Overall the food was standard but good. The service and lack of communication ruined the experience. No reason to go back. The Sweet Note and the Belly Acre are close by and are far better options.

We had so much fun grabbing burgers! The fries are excellent and so was the coleslaw. It’s one of those places where you’re “not quite sure” from the outside and feels warm and homey on the inside.

Wow, a little whole in the wall with wonderful friendly service, GREAT burgers and delicious pork tenderloin sandwiches. If you're in the area, a must stop!

What a tavern should be

Where everybody knows your name, even if you're new in town. Nothing fancy (not even close) but great burgers, deep fried bologna, house made shredded chicken and all the deep-fried sides you could want. Not just a "beer joint", they have a full bar and great bartenders. Highly recommended.

deep fried bar food nothing special is ok but far from home made unless you grew up in a bar if you want a beer and deep fried pickles like mom used to make them this is the place

Home cooking at its best

I have been going to Skinny’s for years and I was never disappointed. New management in the last few years and its only getting better every day. Used to work nearby and ordered Skinny’s for lunch delivery. Chili, chicken wings, and of course the cheeseburger. The kind of burger you want to make at home but never get quite right. Hoping they get draught beer soon. Regular bar and beer by the bottle. Working on an outside deck, and making a better inside environment. Wife loves the fried bologna sandwiches. Grandkids love the chicken strips.
