Just grabbed a takeaway at the start of our mini break and it was the best coffee I've had in ages. Will definitely be back.

Another one to retry post-Covid, unfortunately, gone downhill quite somewhat since my last review three years ago. Had breakfast two weeks ago and was most disappointed, firstly $29 for breakfast and coffee I consider a bit steep in this climate, prices like over three dollars...for one small supermarket-bought hash brown. The poached eggs were two of the smallest I have eaten but they were well cooked, bacon was not burnt to a crisp which was good and the ham was very nice but the one small piece of bread was very hard and not nice to eat and coffee which used to be good was average. Disappointed to see tables and menus were not wiped down and sanitized. Even before Covid and then post Covid peak the cafe was closing on random days out of the blue making it hard for locals to support it, one would walk down for a morning or afternoon coffee and muffin and the cafe would be closed with no notice up. If the owner intends to remain they need to make some big changes, in operating hours, in customer sevice and food quality as there is a variety of good choices in the town centre, unlike other cafes papers are no longer supplied for customers, this could be a good business but it needs to be more customer focused.More

A friend and I had lunch here recently and I had one of the best toasted sandwiches I've ever had. Not being a big eater I opted for a gluten free toasted sandwich with cheese, tomato and red onion. It was crisp yet also buttery...and came with a small green salad on the side. It was so delicious I found myself thinking about it later that night! My friend had an open toastie with eggs and mushrooms and salad which she also found delicious. It was very busy when we arrived and my only 'negative' was the noise - between everyone talking and the coffee machine we almost had to yell to hear each other - but I guess that's testament to how good the place is if it was so busy. By the time we left we were the only ones left and it was quiet. The place has a lovely interior and cosy feel and we didn't have to wait too long for our food. I'll definitely go back - would love to try some of the bigger things on the menu when I'm really hungry.More

Such a beautiful cafe with delicious meals (and a wood heater for those cold days). I have eaten at La Barista a number of times since the new owners have taken over and the meals are always fantastic! A carefully thought out menu and wonderful...chef. Awesome Gioconda coffee too. I highly recommend this cafe - a must visit whether you’re passing through or a local. A true gem of Ulverstone!More

Had lunch there today. My son had the open steak sandwich, my husband had the buttermilk chicken burger and I had scallop and prawn pasta. There is a new owner/chef and the food was the best I have tasted for a long time. I would...recommend this cafe to everyone. The atmosphere and service is second to none. If you're looking for a good meal in Ulverstone, La Barista is the place to try.More

First time visit last week and overall was ok. Nothing special. Very plain inside no ambience.. Food was served reasonably quick and although presented well just lacked any wow factor or leaving me with feeling of returning anytime soon. Coffee was nice. Waitress was friendly.More

Having been there several times for coffee I had been wanting to try out there big breakfast. Menu had reasonable selections, I went for "The Works" which came with two well cooked eggs on some nice toast plus bacon, sausage, mushrooms and other bits and...pieces. It was all well cooked and presented although some of the bacon was over cooked but overall enjoyed the breakfast and was well filled till past lunch time. Finished with coffee which was well made as usual. Cost was $22 for the meal which I thought was a little steep in this area but very enjoyable.More
