Popped in for a spot of lunch, as pub grub, really really good. Portion sizes were excellent value for money, sausages were top quality and the stuffed chicken, wow, the blue cheese sauce was amazing. Good ales/cider. Good service. Lovely little spot.

We stayed at The Talbot during an adventure walking part of the Shropshire Way. From the street it looked like a dated old pub but inside we were greeted by wonderful staff who looked after our every need. The room was brilliant in separate building with all the original features of the traditional structure, combined with clean and pretty decor. We ate back down in the pub and the service was amazing, we had walked 20 miles that day and the guys brought everything to our table. The food was hearty, tasty and generous portions, even we couldn’t finish our meals despite how hungry we were. Breakfast was versatile and you could even take away your bacon butty to fuel the road ahead. A gem in the middle of this wonderful little town, would happily return.

Fabulous 13th century pub with great character inside. The food was superb, large portions but great they offer smaller plates for those with not big appetites. However if you love your food this is heaven with a good selection on the menu. The food from the kitchen staff looked amazing on every plate I saw delivered to tables and delivered with genuine friendliness. We were full but really wanted a dessert and so the solution was to do a takeout for us and they accommodated the fact we were staying nearby in our camper van. Superb cherry pie later that evening, thank you kitchen and bar staff 😋.

We had various courses. The chicken stuffed with leeks was fabulous The cod morney was awful it was a cod fillet with bones with a little cheese sauce cheese on top, not even grilled. There was no mashed potatoes on top, very greasy really one to miss, however the vegetables served with were cooked beautiful (nice and crisp)

Spent 2 nights staying on a B&B basis. I'd highly recommend. The rooms are a good size and clean. Bed was comfy, and it was nice a quiet. The bathroom is a little tired, and could do with an upgrade, but we managed perfectly well. The location is in the centre of the village. We would have loved to eat here, but the only evening we were free to do that was Sunday, and the kitchen doesn't open on a Sunday. Once we'd eaten Sunday night we went back to The Talbot, and into the pub for a drink - we were so pleased we had. We sat with the owner and his Sister, and had a brilliant evening. The barman Jason and a 'Monday' customer joined in, and we had a real laugh - it made our night. We wouldn't hesitate to return to The Talbot should we be in the area again.

We visited Much Wenlock as we were in the area over the weekend. Lovely outside area of the pub where we sat with our dog. We didn’t want a full lunch and so ordered a couple of starters and a side. We were told that we would have a 30 minute wait, food was delivered much sooner. Food was well cooked and tasty. Staff were very friendly. Access to fresh water was available for our dog. This is a personal preference, lots of lovely “real” hanging baskets around the pub, however, for us, artificial hanging baskets outside of the kitchen and by the residential area spoiled the overall look. We will return when we are next in the area.

Having fond memories of visiting this pub previously, we snatched at the chance to return when we were in the area again. There was still the same lovely landlord, working hard, and with the same mischievous sense of humour we remembered. Once again we enjoyed the pub fayre - which is simply good honest home made food, with no fancy airs and graces, just cooked well, served in mighty generous portions, and very tasty indeed. I had the Shropshire Chicken, (stuffed with leeks and served with a delicious blue cheese sauce) which was very moist and tender. Hubby had the homemade chilli which came with nachos as well. Both meals arrived piping hot and were very enjoyable. This is a traditional olde world pub that has all the traditional attributes you would want from such an establishment- great host, good service and very relaxing ambiance. We shall always return when in the area.

The layout of this form actually misses the point as it only caters for eating at The Talbot Inn. We actually stayed at the Inn and had a delightful weekend. The room was very comfortable, had all the amenities which we needed, including an en suite and we enjoyed very good night sleeps. The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the Shropshire Hills and would be perfect for walkers. Guests who were staying enjoyed breakfast in a separate room to the main part of the Inn and there was a great choice. We would definitely stay here again if visiting this part of Shropshire.

Although 4 of us only had a drink here it was very nice sitting in the garden there. I saw some food being brought to diners & it looked delicious, home cooked chips. I would happily return if in the area & maybe have a meal next visit. Service was good, staff polite. Average prices for the area. Lovely little village it was set in, easy parking nearby which must be paid for.

Stopped here for lunch over the bank holiday while I was out for a drive with the family. There are a few lovely places her and we were spoilt for choice somewhat. However, we went into this place which is just the other side of an alley from the car park, just behind the main road. It was quite busy when we entered but they fitted us in straight away. We had a bowl of soup, some chicken dippers and some Brie Wedges for starters; followed by a lasagne, a scampi and a meat pie. What we remembered about this place was the chips were as wide as a man's thumb. The meat pie was fantastic and the lasagne was well cooked too. I was the only one who ate everything, only because the food was plentiful and my other half and the little one were too full. The service was lovely and it appeared that the young lady with the mobile phone in her pocket was running around serving every one with consummate skill and a smile on her face. We had some drinks and the bill came to about £55 for the lot. Excellent value. I have a fried who lives close by. Next time I visit them I will take them here.

Staying in Much Wenlock we visited The Talbot for Dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised by the lovely interior and the nice atmosphere. The host was very pleasant and friendly. He came to our table promptly and service was very good. The food, gammon eggs and chips, lasagne and chips, were piping hot, delicious and very well cooked. Our problem is we don't have big appetites and so were disappointed not to be able to finish and even more disappointed not to be able to have one of the delicious desserts which we saw coming to other tables!

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday lunchtime in late January when visiting Wenlock Priory. It was very busy and looked full, but the staff were very welcoming and found us some seats. The food was delicious and bearing in mind there were only two very hard working people serving both food and drink, the service was amazing. Good value for money and somewhere we'd definitely visit again.

Prebooked a table for evening meal. Wasn't sure what to expect but was stunned by the food, atmosphere and service. Our son has certain needs and the waitress wasvery patient and helpful in helping him make a choice on what to have, which relaxed him a great deal. Food was hot, cooked and tasty, our waitress popped by every so often to see if we needed anything extra or more drinks etc which was great. Dessert...... My eldest and managed to get the last pieces of cheese cake which was pure heaven (another group weren't happy at us getting the last two pieces LOL ) Prices are very good and it's easy to get to from the car park at tje back.

Great quality pub grub and friendly service. We had the fish pie, pie of the day (chicken, leek and mushroom) and fish & chips - all were tasty, huge portions and no complaints! Service friendly and efficient in a lovely local packed with diners. Also excellent value. Definitely recommend.
