What a fun place. Laid backwith good eats.

First of all, small deli, with casual fare. Tables or booths. We had a sweet waitress with the longest braids I've yet to see (the only reason I mention this is because I failed to get her name) She did a nice job taking care of us. Both my husband and I had the Ruben variation. It came with a small bag of chips, a deli pickle spear and a great sauce on the side. The sause appeared to be a russian/thousand mixture very good. The sandwiches were very reasonable just $9.19 each. Soda was very reasonable at $1.99 each with free refills.

Wow! Have you ever had your salad arrive piping hot?? At Groucho’s they do!!!! I ordered the Arcadian salad, which is a take on a Mediterranean, and the chicken on top was steaming! No joke! My husband got the Baby Bella salad and his mushrooms were steaming!! Not only that but the amount of feta cheese and Kalamata olives on my salad I usually only get with one I make at home. We wanted to try their special homemade sauces so I used the Formula “45” sauce as dressing and my husband used the Formula “95”. Both were excellent! The place was relatively small and quaint but packed with people. We found a table at the back and the cute waitress was right there for drinks. There is very little wait for your food. Almost after you order your food arrives. This is well worth the trip off the highway not only for Groucho’s but the downtown of Statesville is adorable. Many trees (we parked on the street in the shade) but also nice metal tables with chairs on every corner and in between. Lots of small flower gardens. A great find! Don’t miss it!

Delicious, light lunch option!

We were traveling to Charlotte and stopped here to have lunch! Seat yourself, waitress was quick to come take our order. Our order of BLT Club on white, Turkey and Bacon on white, and a chili dog with cheese were delicious! The food came out quickly! My son was happy because they have Cheerwine on the fountain. Excellent food, excellent service!

It has been at least 2 years or more since I have stepped inside Groucho’s Deli and on a Saturday at lunch so I did not know what to except. We walked in and there was one table open and we scored a booth for 4 people! Great start to the experience. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and what to recommend. You could tell she was seasoned! I ordered the Tuna Cheese Melt Club-Freshly made tuna salad, covered with melted Colby Jack and cheddar cheeses, sliced tomato and green leaf lettuce on pumpernickel toasted bread. It came with a small side. It was exactly what I wanted and I would order that again. Prices are reasonable.

This has always been one of my favorite stops and it’s great to visit when I’m in town! I had the double dipper, which was excellent and my favorite formula 45 sauces. Everything came out fast, service is friendly and the prices are good!

Satisfying deli lunch

Large menu with fairly simple sandwich combos. The sauces on the side for the sandwiches are delicious. Other sides--power blend, potato salad, pasta salad--were good and just the right portion size. Good spot for a relaxed but quick lunch.

gluten free subs

We ordered online and got 1 regular and 1 gluten free sub. Both were fresh, with lots of meat. I was happy to get a sub on gluten free bread. they have lots of other menu items.

Groucho's is well worth a visit. Parking is in the street and often you will have to walk a block or so. We went after the lunch rush on a rainy day and had no problem parking a few feet away. The handicap ramp is of the side of the restaurant. Plenty of seating inside and a welcome from the waitress. There are cushioned booths, tables with chairs, stools at the counter and outdoor seating. Looking around, it is evident that the place is clean and well kept. They have an "A" Sanitation Rating and they display a large green banner from TripAdvisor and a Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor. Plenty of time to look over the menu. The menu mentions a Reward card. The program has now been put into their computer and the necessity of a card has been eliminated. The sandwiches were served in a basket along with a small bag of Groucho chips and a pickle spear.

A little disappointing

I ordered a turkey sandwich and a healthy salad. The food and service were ok. Probably a good place for a quick lunch but there was nothing special about my food or service.

Excellent lunch spot

We were driving south and found ourselves in Statesville right around lunch time. My wife started looking for a place to eat, and Groucho's stuck out to her. It is in a lovely corner location right in town. They have a large menu with many different options. We were both very happy with the sandwiches we ordered, and the prices were reasonable. I would recommend Groucho's Deli to anyone looking for lunch in Statesville.
