Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We decided to try the 220 Cafe during Restaurant Week rather than driving into the city from Mooresville. We are so happy with our decision. Not only was the food exquisite, but the service was fantastic. From the gal who sat us at our table, to the servers, to the owner who came around to welcome us…(her husband is the chef).Everyone went out of their way to assure we were taken care of. They seemed genuinely appreciative that we were there. It’s a relatively small restaurant, and there were only a few tables occupied when we got there for our 6 pm reservation. I would suggest reservations since they were getting pretty full by the time we left at 7:30 or so, but maybe this was due to it being Restaurant Week. For appetizers we had fried goat cheese with drizzled honey and seared tuna. For main we had shrimp and grits and a ribeye sandwich with mushrooms and Swiss and dessert was crème brûlée and mixed berry tart. So good. Everything. We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend!!

The Innkeepers at Yellow Bow Tie B&B recommended this restaurant. My husband had the bone in pork chop with a salad and mac & cheese. His pork chop was excellent, tender, and cooked just right. I had the dinner chicken sandwich (minus the bun) with roasted red pepper, fontina cheese, spinach, and pepper and basil aioli. Great flavors. The offerings were a nice change from a chain restaurant. Our dinner was excellent!

We were traveling an 18 hour trip and stopped in for a very late dinner. When we arrived we opened the door and it was full of smoke and having allergies to smoke stepped back out of the restaurant. We decided to put our outerwear in the car and went back inside for dinner since it was so late and their menu was very appealing. We were so happy we decided to go in. The waitress was super sweet and accommodating. We both ordered salads. They were huge and amazing. The Blue Cheese dressing was some of the BEST I have ever had!! Their specials sounded amazing too! I would highly recommend this cafe. I can say over the 3 day trip even beach restaurants couldn’t hold a candle to the quality we received here. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

I was in Stateville on business and the CEO of Purple Heart Homes John Gallina took me to this restaurant and all I can say is WOW! I consider myself a foodie and have tarveled around the world eating at many fine dining establishments and thsi is a jewel in the heart of downtown Statesville. The steaks were perfect as well as the drinks and appitizers. I will be back!

Thought this was a good place until the food finally came over 30 min wait came. Shrimp over cooked and rubbery Seafood pasta again shrimp scallops over cooked. Marinara sauce was more like a vodka sauce not a red sauce as one would expect Fra Diavolo sauce is supposed to be spicy. Not spicy at all

After a full day of golf - our group of travelling golf guys visited the resturant, in large part on previously published reviews. For non locals it is in town and takes more paitence to drive to but we were not disappointed. The service, drinks and food were exactly as advertised and written about. We all had the evenings seafood pasta which was great complimented by the Crab Cakes which prior reviewers had commented on and we were not disappointed. Kelli the owner spent some time with us. In short, everything including the price was great and the 220 Cafe is on our list for next years golf trip.

We selected Statesville as our meeting point and then selected Cafe 220 to meet for lunch and catch up. Located a few miles off interstate in town, easy to get to. The place was busy. That’s a good sign of a good restaurant. With todays environment that no one wants to work, we all commented how good the service was along with the food. A lovely lady took care of all the tables and no one was left waiting for service. She was excellent! And the food was well prepared having the Ruben where others enjoyed the fish tacos. Worth to stop here

The food is excellent! The serve needs some work. Management needs to have the black lady that works there during the week teach the other waiters how to provide excellent customer service. I brought friends there for their first time and was disappointed with the service.

We chose 220 Cafe to try during Queen’s Feast Week 2020 this time. So glad we did! The atmosphere was very nice and the food was plated beautifully! Our group tried the pork chop, salmon, and heart of ribeye steak. Everything was wonderful! Their Tiramisu is house made and excellent. Also tried the apple tart and hope that is on the dessert menu the next time we go. Definitely a restaurant you won’t want to miss in Statesville, NC!

Dined here on Wed 9/7/23 with a group of 4. We had 4 wait staff within 5 minutes ask us for our Drink orders. Three female's and then "Waldo". We had to wait 50 minutes for our food. Had to ask twice if they would check on our order and both times we were told" it is going to be few more minute's" until Waldo finally said huredly that the kitchen got the orders "out of order". Food was mediocre but why could you have not been honest up front about the late order and NO Apology whatsoever. The only reason a I left a Tip was being you might need it after this review. I have been there with no plans to go back.

I have gone to 220 Cafe on several occasions. It is my go to restaurant when I want world class service and cuisine. The service is beyond compare, I don't know their hiring secret but they hire staff that love their job and love each other. Going there regularly you feel like you are a part of a family. The food simply put is amazing. I have tried most of their dishes but the seafood pasta is my favorite. Writing about it is giving we a craving.

I dropped in late on a Wednesday evening after the dinner rush and sat at the bar. Had a couple glasses of well-priced cabernets and a small plate of coconut shrimp. Very friendly bartender insisted I wasn't too late for dinner. When I go back, I plan to try the crabcakes and filet medallions.

We sat outdoors at a sidewalk table. Had great friendly service and a wonderful chat with Kelli, the owner. We just wanted a light dinner, so shared a wedge salad and a couple of small plates. Perfect! We'll be back to Statesville and 220 Cafe.

Cool little place, very picturesque, food was absolutely delicious. Everything...of course i had not eaten all day so maybe that played into it. Craft brews on tap, including ipa. Waitress was super awesome. Service a tad slow but being a business dinner she read the room and gave us plenty of time to visit.

Went to this restaurant the other night for the first time. What a find. The service was amazing. All staff helped and serviced all tables. The food was out of this world. Prepared for you as it should be, hot and delicious. Thank you to all for making our visit a special event.
