Surprisingly Good!

Despite its location in a strip mall, Sorrento delivers a great meal with great service. It isn't an upscale 5-star restaurant though I've given it 5 stars as it offers a wide range of really good food at reasonable prices. I had the Mediterranean Salad with grilled shrimp. It was very nicely presented with just the right amount of buffalo mozzarella. The shrimp had a pleasant grilled taste. My spouse had the pasta with mussels which were fresh and the pasta was just slightly past al dente. Good bread to go with the meal as well. The restaurant was quite busy on a Friday night but the service level was high anyway. We'll make this a regular stop when in the area again.

Family visit on vacation

My family and I visited while passing through Statesville on our way home from Florida. We were not disappointed. We got small pizzas and salads which were very good and very good sized. Our server Stephani was very good and very nice. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely go back. I would like to explore the menu more because they have a lot to offer.

Really delicious

This is our favorite restaurant. We rarely go out to eat. If we go for lunch we order two entrees. We take half home for dinner. As a result, I have a break from cooking for a day. At supper we split an entree and salad and it is plenty. The rolls may be made from pizza dough, but it is delicious. The olive oil and pesto bread dip is amazing. The decor isn’t fancy, but everything we have ordered has been a home run. The service is friendly and efficient.

Just okay, nothing special. Surrounded by fast food chains

Our waitress was great, very attentive, 730pm seating so just clearing out from a busy dinner time. Slimy floor, needed to be swept. Washing the floor properly would get rid of that dirty look. Atmosphere is your typical chain restaurant felt like I was in a Dennys. If you are looking for good Italian food, this place is definitely not it. The stuffed chicken marsala would be great if the sauce was fresh, demi glaze it definitely was not, thick, heavy like something from a jar it was. The pizza was basic, not over salted which is good, but not very flavorful with spices which it needed. Freah bread and basil dip was good.. I would not come to this restaurant again, not a lot of choices on a late Sunday.

Husband is in love

My husband fell in love with this place. He loves Italian food and I am not that big of fan but did love the food. You get more than enough food and the food is amazing. It looked and smelled so good I forgot to take pictures. We will be going back to the same area in July and the husband is already talking about what he wants to order. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants I have ate at.

This restaurant is soooo good! the pizzas are hand made, the personal pan is like a medium everywhere else. they have large portions, we often make two meals out of leftovers. They have gluten free ziti and the Udi gluten free pizza crust. when you sit down, they bring a basket of fresh bread, and if you ask, they will toast the Udi pizza crust, and bring it for you as bread, that is very nice! The salads are good, love their italian dressing. a large variety of dishes and sauces. the meat sauce is my favorite, and huge meatballs. they serve wine and beer. desserts, too. take out is always busy, and they take reservations! thanks for that. I had guests from Punta Gorda, Fl, they travel a lot and said they were very impressed with the restaurant.

Going downhill fast

I've been eating at Sorrentos for years. The first time I ate there it was awesome. It's been slipping a bit more each time I go back. I recently got takeout from there, and it was awful! We had salad featuring slimy lettuce and sketchy-looking tomatoes and cucumbers. We also ordered bruschetta, which was inedible. Apparently, it had been packed in its containers so long that the tomato mixture had fermented!! One person got pollo capricioso. It was okay. I had the chicken cannelloni. The sauce was good, but the pasta was woefully undercooked. I don't know if they've changed management or just don't care anymore, but we won't be going back.

First & only visit

First & only visit. Paid $42.80 for 2 lasagna, 3 side salads & an order of mozz sticks. The lasagna was awful, did not taste or look like any lasagna I've ever ordered/eaten/seen. The salads & mozz sticks were good. To expensive for what we got.

I was hoping for a better experience

The good, our server was professional and pleasant. The salad was chilled and the Italian dressing was delicious with a bit of blue cheese in it. The food was HOT, which I love. Served bread as a starter. The not so good, the restaurant was very tired and in need of repair. The salad was probably from a bag, the chicken in the alfredo tasted like pre-grilled and frozen. Angel hair pasta was almost mush because it was so overcooked. I also felt bad for the server, he had to tell us that we couldn’t order subs or sandwiches because they only had a cook staff in the kitchen of one. There were quite a few people coming in to pick up pizza so perhaps they have excellent pizza. We were traveling through the area.

Grilled chicken sub meat was grizzly

We recently started going here again and at first it was good. I like their grilled chicken sub, but the last two times I ordered it, the chicken was grizzly and I ended up pulling out the bad chicken because you cannot eat it. I don't know if they are using cheap chicken or someone in the kitchen doesn't know how to cut up chicken properly. Maybe they will see this and do something about it.

2nd chance and still disappointed

This is the 2nd time my husband and I tried this restaurant. Dinner was ok & service was very slow. Today, husband picked up a sandwich for our lunch. After 20min of waiting sandwich was made incorrectly and there is a slice of ham in the sub. No meat flavor at all. Mayo is also missing. One very empty sandwich. Very disappointing for an Italian restaurant.

Good food at reasonable price.

Stopped here last year on our way to Florida, enjoyed the meal so this year we went back. Delicious stuffed shells with veggies and cheese. H had lasagna which was good but not great. Dinner salads that come with the meal are a nice size. Bread comes to the table warm and with pesto oil for dripping. A very good meal after a long day driving.

My husband and I were traveling through the area ans stumbled upon this little restaurant in a strip Mall. Being the time of Covid, we weren't about to take advantage of sitting inside. So we took our meals back to a hotel. My husband got the veal parmigiana and I got the shrimp and scallops over pasta. Oh, and don't forget the tiramisu. The meals were delicious and the portions enormous! We ate them the next night for a full dinner again. Courteous service and piping hot. Thank you Sorrento's

Great pizza! Questionable service

Ordered 2 large pizza and 4 drinks at lunch today. It was $50+ tip. The pizza was great but the service was average/below average. Very slow with drink refills even though the restaurant was fairly empty.

OMG, it is that good!

We “settled” on this restaurant because the Chili’s restaurant had a line out the door. I am so glad there was a line. From the outside it may not look like a 5 star, but once you walk in you feel like you are at one. The service and especially the food is nothing but 5 star. Anytime we are are close we WILL stop in, YOU SHOULD, you will not regret it!
