The sign on the door - "we're not fast food - we're good food". If it is a local restaurant with Southern "home cooking", this is the place for you. The menu changes daily with about 5 items and sides. Friday is trout, shrimp, trout...and shrimp, BBQ dark meat chicken, and BBQ dark meat chicken. Gwen, our server, said they also have hamburger and hotdogs. The trout and shrimp are fried. Portions are generous and the prices are 7.99 to 8.99 for most entrees. This included beverage and dessert (which was banana pudding when we were there). Be careful because the turnips are turnip greens - I should have known. This is a well known local restaurant and everyone seemed to know everyone there. The food was "home cooked" and Rita was doing the cooking!More

We were travelling south and read a review so thought we'd give this place a try. We arrived 15 minutes before the 2 PM closing, but were treated like it was still noon. The waitress was small-town friendly and very helpful. Our food was delicious;...a trout platter, and a chicken salad platter. By the way, they only take cash or check. If you're in the area, give it a try.More

This restaurant is a breakfast and lunch place during the week, but also open on Thursday and Friday evening. Sunday's lunch menu has the best fried chicken. Their Facebook page has the menus listed. It's a meat and two restaurant, served on paper plates. Just...a good old Southern cooking restaurant. Yum!More
