This is a top-notch restaurant on the Hudson River. I was there on a rainy February evening, but I can imagine the views are stunning during the day. The dining area is surrounded by large windows creating an open, airy feel. The staff is very attentive. For the price paid, I would say the food was good, not great. But what is most impressive is the staff. It has the feel of fine dining with a staff member checking on you frequently. I would just recommend they have a little more knowledge of wines, or be able to send someone over who does if a guest has a question or in need of a recommendation. The men’s room is unique in a memorable way! the whole restaurant is on a pier that is above the river so when washing your hands, you are looking down on the water!

Awesome brunch and great value. Unlimited Prosecco and they’re really on top of refills, never had to ask once. The food was amazing and they wrote happy birthday and added a candle to the dessert for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was an amazing experience.

Xavier’s provides a truly extraordinary fine dining experience, in an unparalleled ambiance. Located on the top floor of a rebuilt old pier jutting into the Hudson River in Yonkers, floor to ceiling windows offer diners amazing views from Manhattan in the South to the Palisades in New Jersey to the West and up-river North toward Albany. Food and service live up to the ambiance. Three of us created our own shared tasting menu of three starters, three mains, and one dessert. The meal was bracketed by complementary artisanal bread and butter to begin, served as soon as we sat down at our table, and at the end , complementary fabulous chocolate tarts. We ordered a bottle of modest Pinot noir to pair with the menu we ordered. Our three shared starters were octopus, bacon and shrimp dumplings, and foie gras ravioli. Each was outstanding on its own, none more perfect than any other. The same incredible preparation and presentation characterized the three mains, duck, loin of lamb, and exquisitely fried soft shell crabs. Every dish, every starter and every main ranked among the finest renditions of the each we had ever eaten in long lifetimes of fine dining. The meal was capped perfectly with a shared mountainous slice of carrot cake. Service was efficient, pleasant, and unobtrusive. OK, the bill was large, but worth every penny, truly a spectacular evening of fine dining.

A group of 6 women had brunch ob 1/19/20. First the good news: the service was attentive and efficient. The sparkling wine flowed, waiters wandered about the room with large trays of lamb chops, coconut shrimp, sushi ..all delicious. First course delicious, butternut squash soup and risotto. Wonderful flan for my dessert. Now the bad news: the entres were terrible. I had salmon which was fishy, poorly cooked, swimming in a pool of weird liquid. Two of my friends had roast pork which was dry and flavorless and impossible to cut with the steak knives provided. Another friend had poached eggs which were supposed to include crab but didn't. Another friend ordered pound cake for dessert and it was tasteless and very stale. At those prices, everything should have been perfect!

Booked for a Valentine's day dinner. Arrived on time and was promptly seated. Was seated upstairs, which really does ruin a lot of the value of the restaurant as the downstairs provides floor to ceiling windows. The tagliatelle appetiser tasted good but was sitting under a heat lamp too long and had become congealed and the pasta hardened. My partners risotto was overcooked. My short rib main was delicious but the presentation was terrible with no color and everything mushed together on too small a plate. My partner's scallops were the low point of the meal. They arrived noticably burned on top, we called the waiter over and he apologized and offered us a new serving which we accepted, but the fact that such a quality kitchen would let out scallops with black charred tops was very surprising. We waited 45 min for dessert, and when we finally said something it seems they had forgotten that we didn't already have dessert. They did comp us 2 very nice expresso martinis, but overall this was not a good experience.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary on a very wet and cold holiday weekend. While we had reserved an outdoor table, all service was moved indoors due to the inclement weather. Little did we know that we would be seated at a small table literally in front of the plating/busing station on the second floor, with servers coming in and out on both sides of us. We found it unacceptable and the maitre d was able to relocate us to a somewhat more acceptable table downstairs, although again in the midst of the plating prep station. From thereon, service was attentive and warm but that initial entry really left a poor impression/taste in our mouths. And while my husband very much enjoyed his perfectly prepared appetizer of octopus and his scallop entree, as a vegetarian, I did not fare as well. There is not a single vegetarian entree on this menu. When I inquired what the chef could do to accommodate me, I was told I could get a plate of steamed vegetables and tofu. Memo to chef: vegetarianism does not equal a lack of culinary creativity and vegetarians do have taste buds. Finally, rather than demonstrating flexibility (I inquired if I could combine some of the more interesting-sounding side dishes that accoompanies the meat and fish entrees with a side of risotto) I was told that was not an option. So I proceeded to order two sides which were quite good in their own right but were literally served to me as side dishes. This is our third time at Xaviars. Most likely, if they cannot accommodate the growing demand for creative vegan and vegetarian fare, it will be our last.

Went for a recent visit with my family for a birthday celebration. The food was “OK” (nothing bad; nothing “great”, especially for the price); the drinks were underwhelming (I ordered a dirty martini, Kettle, extra dirty. The olives were hard as a rock and it was certainly not “extra” anything, other than expensive); were the service was slow and inattentive (I’ve had better service at McDonalds). Our waiter did not introduce himself but immediately started asking for orders. We were a party of 5, and waited close to 75m after ordering for our food for it to arrive. In the meantime, we were not checked in with for additional drinks, etc. After asking the Maitre D and the delay, they were seemingly unaware, but we were told “the food will be right out” (meanwhile, all of the tables around us had been served, and some had completed their meals and left; parties of 4 that came in after us). After the food came, no one came over to apologize for the service and or ask how they could make it right (even after having acknowledged earlier that there was an issue). We attempted to contact the restaurant several times (including the manager based on their contact card that was available at the restaurant), and no could even take the 5 minutes to respond to an email. For a Michelin Certified” restaurant, this place is not at all what it is cracked up to be. About the only thing really “good” here is the view of Manhattan. Skip this place and go elsewhere, you will be much more pleased.

My 1st and last time at the place. This place had the audacity to charge high prices for food and the elevator reeked of urine, floors. were dirty and sticky over an hour, and the bathrooms were horrible. Paper towels on the floor, garbage filled to capacity. Toilet tissue all over the floor. Absolutely disgusting. For the price I paid for my season-less food, You should’ve had someone in the bathroom handing me a towel to dry my hands. If you charge high($$$) you impress high. Owner, please hire more staff to help you out or give them a raise. I’m taking my coins ($$$) elsewhere.

X2O is a lovely scenic lunch. We have not had dinner there. The broad but limited continental menu was augmented with excellent specials for first and second courses. Cocktails were very well made. High standards are evident in the competent table service, the quality of the cuisine, the fresh modern decor, and an overall ambience of confident hospitality.

This is the second time I’ve taken the train to x2o’s brunch and it’s amazing. The unlimited Prosecco is great and the service is outstanding. The food is really good too it’s unfortunate that we usually get so full with champagne we can’t finish our entrees. Best brunch ever

This was our first restaurant since Covid19. We have eaten here many times before and it is consistently wonerful. That is the highest praise I can give. The view is especially special at sunset. Rush to your phone and make a reservation. The service is perfect. We were served promptly but never rushed. The cocktails were unusual without being overdone or cutesy. The wine which was recommended was indeed excellent. And then the food. Every dish was beautifully presented. The mousseline of chicken livers melted in your mouth and the relish with was bright and unusual. The main courses, duck and a lamb special and were cooked to the right degree of done, especially the lamb. For dessert we shared a cheese plate. Usually we would opt for chocolate but... there were three cheeses with great fruit chutney. Here is the over the top part. I was dining with my 101 year old mother and when our taxi failed to arrive, the assistant manager drove us home. Even without this we had a special evening. With Kovi at the wheel, it was momentous!! Endless thanks to him and Julien the manager.

A stunning setting and view, delicious dishes, outstanding attentive and friendly service and relatively reasonable prices for the top quality cuisine make Xaviers a unique go to spot esp. For special occasions. A big shout out to server Miguel, who carefully recorded various preferences and requests of diners and accommodated them with no problems. Five stars from first time visitors as well as repeat visitors in our party!...George, Long Island

Such a beautiful spot over the Hudson River, and the food is amazing! Brunch (prix fixe) is 3 courses. I enjoyed the risotto, poached eggs (creamed spinach & hollandaise sauce) and almond pound cake. My wife had the field green salad, salmon and tiramisu. All excellent - but even better was that they passed 4 other tasty treats during the meal (I especially loved the baby lamb chops). Also includes unlimited prosecco drinks (bellini, mimosa and kir royale). An outstanding culinary experience, and the setting was beautiful as well. Our third time here and we'll be back again!

For a special occasion we booked a table. We asked for a table on the balcony and were told no problem. When we arrived they said our table wasn’t ready. OK I can wait. After half an hour they tried to seat us in the middle of the restaurant “ near a window “. Not acceptable. Especially after waiting. Finally 40 minutes after our reservation we were seated. We got one piece of bread. I ordered the lamb special medium to medium rare. It was well done and tasteless for $42. Asked for more bread and a refill on my water. Came after I had finished my meal. On to dessert. Waited about 15 minutes for a menu. We wanted to order but the waiter never returned. After twice asking the bus boy to get him, a half hour after getting the menu, I just asked for my check. I have eaten here several times. Doubt I’ll be back.

A 5 not a 4 because it offers a much wider, more interesting, European-style range of options than you find in 99.99% of American restaurants, in terms of both the raw materials and the preparation of them — eg the venison was superbly prepared. Also the cuisine generally was outstanding; the service was courteous but unrushed; the vegetables were provided with European generosity (not, as usual in the US, short-changed); and the setting is lovely. Delightful evening all round. Bravo
