Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife Shirley chose Rory Dolans because we could congregate at their humongous oval bar hosting a large selection of Beer, Wine and Liquor served by our bartender David waiting for our guests to arrive. We noticed the inviting decorum and attention to lighting making our 21 person gathering very warm and welcoming. Afterword we moseyed over to a private area decorated for my 60th Birthday where Daniel attended our every need. We enjoyed the best Shrimp Bisque appetizer I've ever had, followed by a catered menu of Broiled Salmon, Shepard's Pie and Sauteed Chicken Francaise. Not to mention Rory Dolan's specialty Burgers. Our party returned to the bar after coffee and cake continuing our celebration because in fact, we were having so much fun, no one wanted to leave. Mary, our host who had greeted us when we arrived even bought us a round. Rory Dolan's Irish Pub, a grand old time With pretty good grub.

Im updating my previous review because I have taken my parents and relatives countless times since 2014. And they live in Manhattan, and have access to everywhere. And they are from Ireland. This is where we go for all birthdays, anniversaries, or celebratory dinner. The drinks are done to perfection, and the bar is top notch. Some of our favorites dishes are salmon with mashed turnips and mashed potatoes, the burgers, the lamb, the filet, the fish and chips and the shepherds pie. If you have any room at all left, try the trifle or a fruit tart/pie with ice cream. The hospitality makes it even better. Rory and the lovely petite lady will always come over and say hi. We usually go at an off time-after peak lunch and before dinner so as to avoid the crowds. NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!

Rory Dolan‘s menu includes the requisite‘s pub food but also very interesting and creative specials. I’ve eaten dinner here at least 20 times and everything I’ve had I have enjoyed with one exception: I think their shepherds pie is dreadful. The meet is so finally minced that it taste and looks like baby food. But if you stay away from that I’m sure that you will be very happy with your food.

Not sure where to start here. I have eaten at Rory's several times over the years, Its always a place we go when we have people visiting from Ireland. Normally the staff are very friendly. This past week I took family that were here visiting from Ireland. One person in our party was coeliac. The gluten free options were so limited it was embarrassing, 3 choices!!! I don't know if this was because we were late eating and they couldn't be bothered making anything, either way it was upsetting considering this is an Irish restaurant and they should be familiar with this disease. One of the senior staff was VERY rude towards the person that is coeliac, so much so that she left the person in tears!! Maybe Rory you need to reconsider your menu options and expand it a little to accommodate different dietary needs. Also, you might want to train your senior staff members on how to deal with these requests. Very disappointed and upset with the whole experience.

We have gone to Rory Dolan's for the last 5+ years for Christmas dinner and have always looked forward to our 'Ham and Turkey' dinners. This year's dinner was an absolute miss. Meager portions of ham and turkey, overseasoned and bone dry stuffing, and orange (orange!) gravy. Rory should spend more time looking at and tasting the food coming out of the kitchen.

We had a family, small family gathering, including two babies. Service was good, food was fair. We had a grilled chicken sandwich, grilled chicken caesar wrap, omelette, burgers, and salmon. Don’t bother with the grilled chicken Caesar wrap it’s mostly filled with croutons. All the other dishes were wonderful. Servers were attentive. Be mindful of the check, they can only split a check to ways per table.

Went there for a repast and was very pleasantly surprised by the selection on the menu and the staff! Everything was excellent, there are some wonderful Irish dishes worth trying like the Shepherds Pie and Steak and Mushroom pie that had delicious gravy. The burgers were great also and lots of choices for appetizers, salads etc. you won’t be sorry you went there! Can’t wait to go back for a happy event! Our waitress was very patient and attentive!

I went with my sister in law and was truly amazed. We both has the Jagger Schnitzel which was out of this world. I have been to many German restaurants and this was a true Delight. The taste and presentation was perfect, if you like veal you will love this....Thank You!!

The atmosphere was nice but the service started out good and went downhill. The food was subpar at best and the worst cup of coffee I have ever had. And then I get charged for 3 desserts for 2 people. Have been to Rory's before and it has been much better but I will not be back.

This was the perfect early Friday dinner spot. Great ambience, good steak, no overbearing TV's, and real Irish vibe. The owner came to talk to us, and gave us some mugs seeing it was my first time there. I had the Top Sirloin, and my wife had the Filet Mignon. Not cheap, but fair pricing, and really good, professionally made food and drink. We will be back.

Solid and consistent pub fare on the Emerald Mile. Great outdoor seating options. Friendly staff consistently asked us how everything was and had lovely banter with the kids. Who doesn’t love a brogue?!?!

My wife, son and I stopped by during a visit to the Bronx from Boston, our son Owen having recently moved to Woodlawn. Overall, a very welcoming experience with great food and a thoroughly enjoyable atmosphere. Rory came by our table and was very gracious and generous. We'll be back when in the Bronx again.

Fantastic Irish place. Went with my family for a birthday party on Saturday, Feb. 25. Was greeted nicely when we arrived. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. The owner Rory came over and welcomed us to his place and had conversation with everyone. Food was also fantastic will be coming back.
