About
Our kitchen makes deliciously good food, prepared simply, from the finest local ingredients. We feel very lucky to be located in the Coromandel Peninsula, home of excellent seafood. In Poivre & Sel Restaurant you will also experience authentic fine French cuisine, cooked only with fresh ingredients. If you are a wine enthusiast, you have to try our french wines from Burgundy, Champagne, Cotes du Rhone, Alsace and Bordeaux, as well as the best New Zealand wines. Our restaurant hold only a few tables so bookings are highly recommanded.

Nice, cozy restaurant. Service was friendly and fast and all in all, we enjoyed our Angus filet and the choco/orange sphere dessert.

To find a French restaurant of this calibre in a small town was quite surprising, but the reviews did not mislead! The food from the amuse-bouche to an expresso coffee was excellent. The chef delivered a quality, well-presented, tasty dinner and the service was efficient...More

The french style restauruant offers a good, varied menu which is cooked well and service is good from the young team. They like you to keep to their timings but the location is good being a short walk from the harbour and Cooks Beach ferry.

Never dreamed that Whitianga, which struck me as a medium-sized seaside town would produce a French fine-dining place like this one. Managed by husband and wife team who have been in NZ for the last ten years, they moved from France having worked around Europe....More
