For sunday night dinner I visited Grace O'Malley's. It was so warm and cosy entering in and out from the rain outside. I was greeted warmly by a lovely Irish barmaid and ordered their Sunday Special - Port Roast with roast veges and this comes...with a range of desserts. I picked the Apple and Ruburb crumble, which was yummy. It came with cream and ice-cream. This special cost $22. and was very enjoyable.More

We visited on a school holiday. We were wanting a late lunch Went to the other 2 places down the road and they were closing up for the day so this was definitely 3rd time lucky. Friendly welcome and seated. Food was excellent and good...amounts. We saw other food coming out and they looked really big. All the pizzas looked piled high with ingredients. Son ordered the kids ribs and it was a big size. It was really busy and food was still coming out fast. Lots of families with kids came in after us. It was a really nice atmosphere.More

The place was a lovley atmosphere, ordered our food and sat down, 30 minutes passed and the waitress brought out our food. I ordered my husband an open steak sandwich but they brought out steak eggs and chips, i politely said to the waitress that...it was supposed to be the open steak sandwich ( i wasnt mean, iive been a waitress before and i know mistakes happen) she took it back to the kitchen. Soon the bar lady comes storming out and abruptly says "No this is what you ordered and handed it back", i started getting pissed off because i know what i said but she was adamant i was wrong and i dont know what came out of my own mouth, she didnt even try listening she just shut her ears of and kept shaking her head at me... concidering i didnt even raise my voice she was pretty aggressive. she wasnt taking it back so we just took the meal because no one likes conflict and i dont think she was backing down. She was so bloody rude and to top it off the meal of steak eggs and chips that we reluctantly took was so tough it was inedible ,so thanks alot lady its hard enough to get my husband to go to restaurant let alone toping it off with a sh$% experience! And having a bad meal that u ordered is one thing but a bad meal you didnt order is another. Never again!! I regret not asking for my money back, thats my fault for not standing up to her and not wanting to cause a scene because i know she sure would have!More

Came in my a family members birthday. Place was very busy and loud but all good for a pub type vibe. Food was very slow and 45 min wait food, yeh not the best, filling but for the long wait not the best food ive...had. Staff were slack and no very happy to be there. As a local this was the first time I've been there. Will not be in a hurry to go back. Smittys or blacksmith bar are both way betterMore

Great atmosphere and lovely view but the food was rather average. Ordered the passionfruit cheesecake for dessert and I could have sworn it was a slice of Sara Lee cheesecake from the frozen section at the local New World.

Visited on our own and shared beautiful loaded wedges, very tasty and a huge plate full. Food was hot and fresh. Booked table for next night as going out with friends, all our meals were fresh, tasty and hot. Puddings were huge not that I...had any but friends thoroughly enjoyed. Didn't feel pub was very Irish, disappointed only 2 Irish beers there and no Magners cider. Atmosphere was lovely, would have liked some Irish bands playing on music system.More

Was very disappointed in the food . Was definitely not worth the price. Ribs were dry and the lamb rump with roast vegetables was a small serving for the price you pay with not very nice vegetables. Kids pizza had no flavour. It was all...cheese piled on top.More

Not your typical Irish pub from the outside- very attractive outdoor area on a balmy evening. We ordered simply- a Buffalo Pizza and some fries. The order was delivered quickly and tasted great. Bar service was also good. Great to see a staff member roaming...around collecting plates and checking people were OK for drinksMore

It hard work to find a restaurant which constantly has good food in Whitianga. We eat out quite frequently and have tried most food places in Whitianga with varying success. We ordered a pizza & pork ribs which were both great in quantity & flavour....The service was good but a smile would have been appreciated. Would go back for sure. Keep up the good work.More
