Sangam Indian Cuisine - Whitianga’s only authentic Indian restaurant has been serving people in the town since 2004 and continues to lead its way as a popular local Indian joint in town. The restaurant seats 82 diners inside, while another 12 seats in the outdoors are highly popular in summers. We guarantee fresh high-quality meats bought from the local butcher. We do not use colouring agents in our food, so there is no orange looking curries or meat. Our preparations are authentic and prepared in Indian style. You can either choose to dine with us or take away a meal. Most of our curries are unique to us, whilst the restaurant also does some modern Indian food, such as the Lamb Shank Curry

After a number of Indian meals in Auckland we are surprised that close to our new home we a restaurant that is so great. great service , lots to choose from, nice atmosphere. A table of 4 we all had some thing different all were...stunning and well presented. Nana bread was the freshest i have ever had , with a great crunch ( not rubbery). Cant wait to go back again.More

Came here for dinner while on holiday with my family. Best Indian food we’ve ever had . Full of flavour and generous sizing. Our young daughter loved it. The staff were very friendly and talkative. Would definitely recommend.

We dined here a few years ago twice in a week and looked forward to another nice meal. We arrived at 7.30 tonight and after waiting at the counter for several minutes without any acknowledgement, I was told there would be a 30-40 minute wait...on food. Thankful of the warning I indicated that we would grab a drink and decide. We were served water fairly promptly and we waited for some service. And waited. After 15 mins we decided to leave. We weren’t offered a drinks menu. Granted I may have been a little hangry by this time, however there was only 3 or 4 other tables taken in the restaurant and would have expected to have been offered some sort of service in this timeframe. Sadly not a good experience.More

The usual large menu at an Indian restaurant. From memory 20 chicken dishes alone. Having studied the menu it is difficult to choose from so many dishes, however choices were made and ordered. The service was very good and the meals did not take long...to come to the table. There were six of us and each person had chosen a different dish, everyone was pleased with their choice. I found my own dish well spiced and very tasty. All in all a very good meal for everyone.More

We were happy to sit and and savour the ambiance while we waited, not long, for a sizzling tandori and delicous tika masala and kali murch ... beautiful flavour and always a treat at our favourite local Indian restaurant 💞 Highly recommend 🤗

Wow, the food was amazing. Our curries, lamb sagawala and prawn chilli masala were devious, the depth of spice and the quality was excellent. Would say it’s the best curry I’ve ever had in New Zealand in the last five years. The staff were great...and the restaurant tastefully decorated. Can’t wait to come back when we are next in whitiMore

This place has a very extensive selection of Indian dishes that you could expect from a big city Indian establishment. The taste was just as good . The service was very pleasant and efficient.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Experience! Our family of four visited Sangam Indian restaurant on Tuesday evening. Restaurant was packed and barely had any seats available. However the staff was accommodating and welcoming. We were attended at the door and given approx wait time for the food. Meanwhile, we...had some great collection of wines and mixed platters for starters. We ordered lamb shank, goat curry, duck and paneer do pyaza with some naan breads for mains. The food was authentic with perfectly balanced spices to hit your tastebuds, shank and goat meat was tender and juicy. Special mention to Spicy Three Chilly Naan. Staff and the chef did not miss to check on your table throughout the busy service. Carefully drafted kids menu and a lot of toys to keep your young ones busy while you enjoy your own time. Highly recommended from a big time foodie!More
