Great salad . Scallops were lovely. Good cafe for breakfast or lunch. Lots of outdoor seating and interesting sculptures. Quick and efficient service. Great ice-cream.

The visit was a couple of months ago and I cannot recall what my wife and I had to eat. But it was all excellent! We dined outside and it was very pleasant. There are lots of interesting sculptures to look at while you wait. Because I was driving, I didn't partake of the beer which looked like it would... More

We went to this place for an evening meal. It doesn't make a particularly great first impression -it's a bit of a shambles, and the two lads who looked after us were so laid back they were in danger of falling over. But the food, when it arrived, was outstanding, beautifully cooked and presented, and with lovely and subtle complementary... More

I have to keep checking that we ate at the right place - because our experience is so different from other tripadvisor reviews and the cafe's website. The food was all quite average - both burgers were burnt to black and the chips were just the frozen kind. Other people at our table were also not impressed. The table was... More

A lovely family run cafe. Flaxmill bay is next to Cooks beach. It can also be accessed from Whitianga by crossing on the ferry and walking for about 15 min. The setting is charming and inviting with plenty of outdoor seating. The food is wonderful. I had the scallops (at least 10) with Macedonia and Pernod cream sauce which came... More

We came for dinner, reservations recommended. The place was crowded, we were seated near the restrooms, and the door was constantly left open. Not so pleasant. Fish and vegetarian choices were adequate. Service was pleasant, very relaxed (no one seemed to be in a hurry). The food, however was very innovative and creative, and tasted good. Drink selection was very... More

Amazing salad coffee and more!! Always a winner with vegan options available !! Their house salad has over fourteen different ingredients and is super tasty ! Multiple sculptures stand in the large gardens in between the tables in the shade of large mature trees. Would recommend highly!
