My lunch there is probably one of the worse lunches I have had I a long time. The food was terrible the service was slow and the variety was poor. I have found that the locals have stopped going there come on Ninas up your...game.More
We did not have a pleasant experience at this cafe. We had breakfast the day after the Scallop Festival. This cafe seems to hark back to the 80s with outdated drab and trite decor. The bathrooms were not particularly clean. The staff did not seem...to have any kind of system and lots of orders were being mixed up particularly with hot drinks. Our coffee was awful. There seem to be some training required here to improve barista skills and service. Whilst the food in itself was okay the presentation showed lack of care and clearly the kitchen was under the pump. All four of us remarked that we had not been to a cafe like this for some years.More
Nina’s is a great little coffee spot with a lovely outside seating area. The muffins are delicious and the staff are hard working. However the coffee is so disappointing, under new ownership they seem to have lost the excellent barista who made great coffee. The...place looks as tho it could do with a good scrub. There are so many excellent cafes serving great coffee around town, Cafe Nina really Ned’s to sharpen up.More
This place certainly doesn't have glitzy street appeal: it looks like an old shack partly swamped by vegetation. However, don't be put off by the modest street appearance: this place is full of atmosphere with delicious food & coffee & lovely indoor & outdoor areas...to relax. We had lunch there for a modest sum, & were so pleased we'd chosen this rather than the bland waterfront eateries.More
We have visited this cafe before, but on 4 February two of visiting party left coffee. I commented to waitress about watery long black and was served another, also very mediocre. We have several options in Whitianga for morning coffee, and next time it won’t...be Nina’s.More
Passing through Whitianga, last time 15 years ago. What good improvements for town.
Small early old style Cafe, looking for some good tasty food for famly. Tucked away in side street with over grown plants at entrance.
Coffee top marks, BlueBerry Muffin was great.
Great breakfast menu with lots of choices of smoothies and egg dishes. My scone was so delicious. A Dutch girl was working behind the counter and she made the best cappuccino that I had in NZ. Great place and definitely recommendable.
