Lovely setting with nice outdoor tables. Surprising selection of food and the coffee was good. The food was okay but warm not hot. The service was fine but not overly welcoming.

This is a favourite place for us, the food over the years has always been great, with options for those who have slightly different dietary needs. A must-go place for a light or good feed!

Lovely food but don’t be in a hurry. Went twice and both times waited ages for coffees. Even with next to no other patrons this afternoon, the barista certainly did not show and sense of urgency.

Just when you think you’ve had every type of salad in the world, you come upon this cafe and, surprise, try this one! Portobello mushrooms on spinach and buckwheat with roasted hazelnuts and balsamic dressing. OMG it was heaven. Hubby’s burrito was pretty good too....Topped it off with one of the best ‘very home made’ custard squares I’ve ever had - and I’ve had plenty! Superb food, service, lovely cafe, you’ve got to stop there for a meal.More

We ended up at hot water beach twice as the weather was pretty awful the week we visited Hahei. It seemed a lot of cafes were closed Mon/Tues but we noticed Hot Waves on our way out of hot water beach and stopped for lunch....So glad we did the meals were delicious. Highly recommend the beef burger. The kids loved their pancakes and hubby enjoyed a moist piece of carrot cake. Coffee to die for. We went back to hot water beach a few days later and couldn't resist going back again for lunch.More

We went there for lunch (2 adults, one 5 year old) following the recommendations from several people and we were not disappointed!! We had a super yummy lunch. Everything was super fresh and super tasty. Highly recommended!!!!

Although we really liked the atmosphere, i think it is important to give some feedback so we all can learn from it. So again, i dont want t sound harsh. We ordered veg canneloni and after the first bite my husband recognised walnuts in it....As he is very allergic to it, situation could be ended worse if he had swallowed it. There was no sign of it when we ordered it so we did not expect it at all. Therefor i would like to strongly advise the staff to putt signs on the notes if food contains nuts/peanuts/egg etc as it can be dangerous for people.More
