Our experience at this restaurant was very positive, great food, great service, great atmosphere, read on for the detail....... We visited Blue Manna on a Tuesday evening in August. The restaurant was reasonably quiet but had a particularly friendly atmosphere. Staff were relaxed and enjoying themselves as well as paying us the required amount of attention. We had a 7.30 booking and were offered a choice of table, the friendly waitress, who we remembered from our last visit, explained the specials to us. This place specialises in Singapore soft shell crab and whole fried fish, the second of which was the special on this occasion. We decided to order an aperitif, negroni from their select list of popular cocktails and a Capel Vale Debut Sparkling Brut, which was particularly drinkable (they also had a good list of locally brewed beers). We decided to start with salt and vinegar crab tacos, these are served as a portion of 3, but we were offered 4 which was perfect! We were then recommended the southern bluefin tuna poke bowl which had a delicious tangy lime flavour. As they were out of the chicken wings we decided on the morton bay bug tails as our next dish. These were served with sweet corn fritter, green papaya and cashew nut salad. We’re opted for the deep fried fish (snapper) for main course but decided to go for a small one so we could also share the bluefin tuna main we had spotted another couple eating and couldn’t resist. Both dishes tasted as delicious as they looked and were accompanied by a bottle of local Forrester Estate SSB. Lemon tart was for pudding and a very fine particularly tarty tart it was to! We were not rushed out of the restaurant while clean up took place and very much enjoyed watching the cooking and cleaning activities that were clearly visible to all those sat in the restaurant. We will definitely be visiting again, one of our favourite spots in dunsborough. Total bill $232.50, this included a glass of pudding wine, bottle of sparkling water and coffee.

We had the good fortune to dine here on a recent trip down to the south-west. Knowing in advance that restaurants in holiday locations are often full we booked a couple of weeks in advance. A strategy I would recommend anybody visiting does as the restaurant was full when we visited on a Wednesday night (post school holidays) a reflection of just how popular Blue Manna is with both locals and visitors. Located on the street, Cyrillean Way, just to the west of the Dunsborough Centrepoint Shopping centre (which means that there is plenty of parking available nearby). You can't miss the glowing neon crab on the front of the building. The restaurant was really busy when we arrived but our waiter was really attentive despite the numbers of customers. For starters my girlfriend went with the oysters natural but included one baked with blue swimmer crab meat & creamy miso mayo just on our waiter's strong recommendation and I had the Salt & Pepper Squid with unagi mayonnaise, toasted bonito furikake and matsu dressing. Mains we both opted for the Salt and Pepper Blue Manna Crab wok tossed Singapore chilli style with black pepper and chilli jam. The baked oyster probably had too much going on and could have done without the Miso mayo. Likewise the squid could have done with less mayo. Unfortunately the oysters weren't shucked properly and there was still small fragments of shell in some of them. In hindsight I should have the Seared Shark Bay Scallop Nigiri or the Sashimi. The waiter did warn us that the crabs, cooked and presented in their shells, would take us at least 45 mins to get through. He wasn't wrong. If you are prepared to get your hands dirty then this is the right way to eat crabs as far as I am concerned. Now this dish is not for the faint hearted as it takes a lot of effort to prise the flesh out of a crab but for me it is well worth it - even if it did take me over an hour to consume both crabs. Towards the end the chilli jam did become a little too sweet to really savour but that's probably because I took so much time to devour my meal. If you are after a great seafood meal (though the menu also has beef and duck dishes as well) in Dunsborough then I thoroughly recommend Blue Manna just make sure that you book in advance so that you're not disappointed.

The food was different and truly magnificent. It was great to be able to talk to the chef who personally bought the dishes to our table. Staff were all friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Only downside was the lighting was a little bright and lacking in atmosphere. We got moved outside and it was much nicer.

After reading all the good reviews on TA and getting information from the locals we headed to the Blue Manna Bistro full of anticipation. We were seated outside on a hot day with very little shade and the left fo 20 minutes trying to get the attention of any waiter or waitress to order some drinks. We were aided by another diner closer to the main restaurant to get the attention of a waitress. Our entree of scallops, whiting fillets and stuffed chicken wings were average at best and lacking in flavour. The general consensus of the mains was a 5 out of 10 with the sautéed prawns too spicy, linguine lacking in flavour and the whole crab too hard to eat. The crabs should have been accompanied by a bib, large bowl of water and hand wipes as very messy. I thought my whole fish need more sauce. The deserts except the ice cream were nothing to write home about but the coffee was of a high standard. I must say the service was very slow and our entree dishes stayed on the table until the mains arrived. Overall a disappointing experience.

I was in a party of 7 people - the staff allowed us to change table twice until we were OK rearranging tables as needed. Between us we had much of what was on the menu and each dish was excellent. We shared everything, "You have got to try this" was repeated ad nauseam. My favourite was the Singapore-style Blue Manna crab with black pepper and chilli jam; it was glorious and outstrips any chilli crab I've had in Singapore. Coby Cockburn, the Head Chef, clearly know how to cook and present seafood to the highest levels. As I mentioned in the review title, I've been visiting Australia for many years and often; the Blue Manna Bistro was the best I'd experienced in Australia and ranks in my best 10 meals anywhere in the world

Our family of 6 adults dined here recently and were wowed by the excellence of both the food and the service. I can highly recommend the dumplings for starter and the Singapore style crab for main, however, we all enjoyed what we ordered. We could not fit in dessert unfortunately. Be sure to book as it is very popular.

The reviewers were right. This is outstanding quality seafood. Perfectly cooked, great complex flavours without overpowering the seafood. The standouts we tried were the scallops, the marron and the seafood curry. The curry was sensationally good. It's not a cheap restaurant, of course, but the quality matches the prices. The wine list was also top notch, and the service was superb with frequent checking on all the courses and if we needed anything or had any queries. Great for everyone who loves high quality seafood. We'll be back next time we are in the neighbourhood.

We recently dined at Blue Manna and it is an outstanding restaurant in every respect. Service was spot on - attentive adn informative but not over the top.The food was amazing, highlighting local and Western Australian produce. The atmosphere is classy but still casual. It is one of teh best restaurents we have dined at anywhere. And that is a very big statement.

Blue Manna on the third visit in two years has never ever served us an inferior dish or an inferior experience. The meals will just knock you out of the park. Please, please keep doing what you are doing. See you next Christmas xx

Great to be able to buy quality Fish and Chips at this time of Covid 19. Fish was very good quality and very yummy Chips. Affordable at $20 single serve but the quality of the fish was the winner for me. Choices from Spanish Mackerel, Spangled Emperor and King George Whiting with also Seafood basket available. It was a nice treat to be surprised with at a time we can not go out to dine. Can’t wait to be free to book in for all the great variety of food the menu normally has with a good bottle of wine

we really enjoyed the food and service here, they are doing a full menu unlike another Dunsborough top restaurant, plus a kids menu so everyone is happy. You must try the marron if it is still in season, it is superb and the freshly caught Tuna. The Chef will come to your table and tell you what is fresh today and how he is preparing it, great to see the Chef really interested in discussing his choices, well done! You need to book to ensure a table, they also have two sittings per night.

Upon arriving at Blue manner bistro we were warmly welcomed by very attentative staff who were very friendly. The open kitchen was a nice surprise as was the intimacy of the restaurant. We ordered several dishes and each was top quality and beautifully presented. My mother and Aunt even went as far as stating this was the best seafood they have ever eaten. I would have to put it up there amoungst some of the best for myself also. My only problem was deciding which dish to choose as they all sounded so so good. I can honestly say you would not be disapointed with a meal here and can guarantee we will return. (a tasting menue would be a great addition) Fantastic meal and great service

Great food, great staff. Had the scallops for a starter, which were accompanied by small portions of pork belly. I have to say, the pork belly melted in my mouth...wasn't as fatty (which was nice) as I expected. Scallops top notch as well. The waiting staff (well all of the staff) were very friendly and attentive and knew there stuff, and what the owner expected, which gave the place a nice feel. Even to the extent that one of the desert dishes had links to the owners wedding. Nice touch. Would recommend and do book as was busy.

Outstanding food & fantastic service. We were greeted with a friendly smile, and attended to straight away for drinks & water. We ordered the freshly baked bread for our starter which came out very fast and was delicious. For mains we shared the duck, steak & fish of the day which was snapper. All 3 main dishes were absolutely incredible. Highly recommend.

We have dined here before and its always good, however the most recent was exceptional. The food was as usual excellent, but when I ordered fish, the chef (from the kitchen - we were close) asked if i wanted a change to one item. A level of detail and attention not seen anywhere these days except Blue Manna. Suffice to say bookings are essential as its popular ... but well worth it.
