Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Waited at the bar for 20 mins, didn’t get anything but a menu and I’ll be back. Ten mins later no one came back. It wasn’t busy in fact it was so slow bartenders were talking to each other and no one wanted to work....Left and didn’t eat.More

Because of good reviews and thumbs up from a stranger (I should have considered the source) I decided to drag hubby out for a burger here tonight. First of all, good luck finding it. Should be easy, but lousy signage, unclear where to park (the...nearest garage). Entrance is almost hidden, I finally had to stop and ask a passerby where it was. Walked in to a confusing space. Customers milling around. No staff, but it appeared we had to wait to be seated, anyhow the other customers were blocking us. It wasn't clear if they were buying the t-shirts on display or checking out. Finally someone sauntered over and sat us down at a table that had been quickly wiped, not the cleanest, but not filthy enough to gripe. An energetic waitress appeared quickly and took our order for drinks, and offered water. We ordered food when she returned. My mocktail was lackluster, and for $8, could at least have had a garnish on it. Whatever fizzy water was in it barely had any fizz. No love. I love brussel sprouts, but after two bites of theirs, I sent it back. I was not prepared for what tasted like pickles with warm thousand island dressing and a little Velveeta on top (tasted like Velveeta, I can't be certain). It was a long wait for the burger and shaved roast beef sandwich. The roast beef was monstrous, served nice and warm on a toasted bun. The greens were shredded lettuce in a vinaigrette. You could see the darkened, old bits of the lettuce. It was just slightly old shredded lettuce. No love. The toasted baguette itself smelled great, but I recoiled the minute I saw this huge grey mass underneath. When I order shaved roast beef, I expect to see some pink. It was old and gray. I took one bite, because looks can be deceiving. I spit it out into the napkin. I did not take another bite. Did not even bother with the salad. The waitress was accommodating and cheerful about my rejections, I was kind about it, it certainly was not her fault. I am not usually like this, perhaps I've been eating in too many good restaurants lately. I guess my standards have risen, but I call it like I see it. The fries seemed great at first, crispy and hot, but as I ate them they seemed to have a sort of chemical flavor, or as if the oil wasn't fresh or the best quality. My husband's burger, was okay, but certainly not the raves I'd heard. He shared some with me, as my dinner had been a mocktail and fries, up to this point. I found it too loose and fatty tasting. It quickly defeated the bun, very messy to eat, however, our waitress had provided us with plenty of napkins, and they are sturdy and thick. Thumbs up on napkin quality. It was surprisingly full for a Monday night, with a steady stream coming into the bar. A mixed, relaxed crowd, some families with coughing kids, always a bonus. A few young, slim men with laptops conversed in a booth, solving the problems of the world, by the looks on their faces.. I'd say scoring a booth would be worth the wait. It's a noisy, busy place, pub atmosphere. Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but, yeah, I'll never be back. The waitress deducted the roast beef sandwich, thankfully, but I did get stuck with the brussel sprouts. Add the burger, coke and mocktail, and the bill came to $44, plus a good tip, because the service was pretty good, and she had a great attitude. In short: overpriced pub food. Don't let the fancy menu fool you, the execution does not live up to the description.More

I don’t even know where to start, we visited the Schenectady location, atmosphere was decent and appeared clean. My beer was ok, nothing amazing. We ordered and it took a lifetime to get our food. 40 minutes for 2 salads and a sandwich despite not...being busy. The chicken on both salads was inedible. To say it was dry would be an understatement. My salad had a vinaigrette that was undetectable. I know it was there because there was a little oil on the plate but flavorless. My husband’s sandwich was burnt and had almost no turkey on it. We ordered a second drink that never arrived until after we had finished our food. Waitress visited the table a total of 4 times. 1. To take order 2. To bring drinks 3. To deliver food and take 2nd drink order 4. Brought 2nd drink and clear. We had to request our check.More

Lots of beer and more beer. Fun place to meet and enjoy appetizers. We were there with colleagues for a work event and it was fun. Plenty of room for everyone. Would like to return to try the lime beer and the lobster Mac balls....Really liked the tuna nachos.More

Tried to reserve a party of 6 online and tried calling MONTHS ahead but could not get any reservation for more than 4 people at any time. Showed up day of and asked for a table of 6 and was told a 1.5-2 hour wait....But a table of 4 was a 15 minute wait. So we split our table into 2 parties of 3 for a shorter wait. When we sat there was a table next to us EMPTY that the host didn’t want to put together. So we questioned the server about the table empty next to us and they asked the manager and the manager said they could put the tables together. The server Greg and his trainee were extremely nice and we appreciate the manager for accommodating us but we were frustrated that we couldn’t be seated together in the first place when the establishment had empty tables available around the building. I went to the bathroom and 2 other guys complained of the hostesses rudeness also. Overall Food was good, service was great, table management was a headache.More

My son and I ate at Druthers during a recent visit to Schenectady. We chose Druthers because it was one of the few restaurants open on a Monday night. We order the macaroni and cheese and it was ok. Not much flavor, and too many...panic bread crumbs. I had a beer that was warm.More

We came here on a Monday night for dinner. We waited 30 minutes or so for a table. I want to say that Summer, our waitress, was terrific. We ordered a margarita pizza to start. It was fairly small. We didn’t care for the dough....It did not have enough red sauce or cheese or basil. For $17.00 or so it was no where worth it. We ordered the wings next. For $20 we expected much more. The wings (10 per order) were over cooked. There were too many drumsticks v wings. We were not happy overall.More

We went to Druthers for lunch. The service is slow. The beer on tap was very good. Our salads were overdressed, and mediocre at best. The wings were good. If you go there, stick to the bar food. Do Not Order Salad.

Looking for a brewpub with a great food and beer selection? Look no further. We decided to check this place out after running the Stockadathon road race. What a great way to refuel after a run. Beer, Burgers, and fantastic chicken wings!! Calories don't count...when you run 9 miles, right?? It was so good, we ended up going back that same night. If you're staying the Rivers Casino, I suggest you ditch the limited food choices there, and walk across the parking lot to Druthers. You'll be glad you did!More

I have been a regular patron of the Saratoga an Albany locations for years. Last night was my first visit to the Schenectady location. We were seated immediately and warmly greeted by our server, Janelle; what a sweetheart. I had trouble deciding upon the many...delicious items and she gave an accurate description which helped me decide. I chose the Drutherbird Fried chicken sandwich which was the best chicken sandwich I have ever had in a restaurant. It was ample in size and juicy. The onion rings were thick, nicely breaded and fried. My son-in-law chose the Buffalo Fried chicken sandwich which he also enjoyed but did comment the spiciness of the sauce was on the hot side. It might be a good idea to offer it with a mild sauce like the wings. My daughter and wife chose to share the Autumn apple salad and Druther's famous mac n' cheese. The portions were more than enough for 2. My daughter did comment that there was a little too much gorgonzola cheese in the salad but otherwise was delighted by the contents and flavors. I will definitely return to this location and hope to be fortunate enough to have Janelle serve us again. I cannot say enough great things about how attentive she was and helped make our dining experience as great as it was.More
