Due to the coronavirus crisis, we haven’t eaten our really. The Owego Kitchen posted about pastry’s for Mother’s Day and we called on a whim. The owners were fantastic and well informed about ingredients (my wife has a food allergy so we’re very cautious) and they answered any and all questions. They even did a contactless delivery for us right to our front door. They are great people to do business with, and the food matched that greatness. Would recommend anytime.

Owego kitchen has a great selection of food. They have lots of coffee flavors and tea and i love their bakery selection, all made at the location. If you want pancakes this is not your place but great breakfast sandwiches. i love their lunch and homemade soups.

Coming home after picking up our daughter’s wedding gown and googled nearby restaurants. We wanted to try something new but some good home cooking. We were totally wiped off our feet with this quaint little restaurant!! It was way more than what we ever expected, but exactly what we had in mind. 5-stars across the board!!! The food was amazing!!!! Clean atmosphere, friendly staff above and beyond polite! Gluten free rolls, large portions and made fresh. i ordered a chef salad and the meat was amazing-definitely not lunch meat. We cannot say enough about this place. Definitely worth another road trip. Don't give up when you cannot find parking like we talked! Worth every bite to drive around the block numerous times!!!

I hadn't been in the Owego Kitchen for awhile but was quite disappointed in my last visit. The young man taking orders was far more interested in his cell phone than taking my order. Understandably, with COVID concerns you no longer can serve yourself to coffee, so once I got his attention and placed my order, he made my coffee, at best, somewhat close to what I asked for. However, in fairness, the breakfast sandwich was good once I got it. On a side note, they now are selling packaged coffee and packaged snacks (like granola) which are expensive and no different then you would find in a grocery store or walmart. There are specialty shops in Owego where you will find much better quality and value for things like this. To me, this in itself takes away from the ambience they had successfully created being an unique restaurant to now reselling packaged items. I think they have lost the recipe from what they were and hope they can find it again.

My wife and I stopped by here for lunch. The restaurant is set up nicely and it’s well laid out. We liked how you ordered what you wanted at the counter and they brought it to you. The soups and main dishes were excellent and fresh. We got talked into dessert; which was unbelievably delicious. And of course we needed a cup of coffee to go; which was great as well

Wonderful food and fabulous ambiance with very friendly and helpful staff! I had a side salad, chili, and cornbread muffin. My husband had the tarragon chicken salad sandwich, and all of it was fresh and tasted great! Loved the quaint atmosphere with fun decor and music!!!

Delicious breakfast panini! The sourdough bread yummy! Delicious, fresh, homemade cookies, pies and pastries. Good selection of hot and cold coffee and teas. Great place to grab a treat and meet friends.

This place is excellent. I had their chicken salad with their turmeric dressing and I have to say I was impressed. My family also enjoyed their fare. I just with they were open later so I could go for dinner too :)

Stopped at Owego for lunch during driving, not sure where to eat. Found this place while browsing and BINGO. Salad and sandwich were super fresh and tasty. I gave a BIG applause to their chefs and owner. I wish they open a restaurant in my neighborhood. Great job.

I was taken here for my birthday and absolutely fell in love! I can't wait to go back. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and amazing food. Owego is a very cute town and perfect for walking around after.

Very disappointed with the lack of knowledge and unwillingness of staff to accommodate a dairy allergy on Friday, June 23rd.
Our son has anaphylaxis reactions to dairy and nuts. Prior to visiting this establishment, I called and inquired about their ability to accommodate our son's allergies for breakfast. The representative I spoke with reassured us they could accommodate us. While he was unsure about the bagel ingredients, he was confident the gluten-free rolls were also dairy free.
When we arrived, we again informed the staff of our son's allergies and were told he could order an egg and bacon sandwich on a roll.
We placed our orders for 4 people and while waiting at the counter, the manager/cook mentioned to my husband that he could not guarantee a dairy-free meal for our son. He continued to say that while he cooks with oil, he had been using butter on the griddle all morning. We asked if he could wipe the area of the griddle down before cooking our son's eggs and was told he would not as he was "cooking for everyone."
Our meals and drinks were already paid for so we had to decide between making our son watch us all eat before we could find a place for him to eat separately or request a refund since they refused to accommodate all of us and eat elsewhere.
The most frustrating and disappointing aspects of our experience with Owego Kitchen were:
(1) We called ahead, informed them our of special needs for allergies and were assured they could accommodate us.
(2) When we arrived, we again confirmed they had at least one dairy and nut free breakfast option.
(3) Family living in the Owego area had raved about this establishment and assured us they were very customer-service driven and accommodating and would make sure our son's meal was safe for him.
(4) The cook/manager was very dismissive towards us and treated us as if we were an inconvenience for him which only made my son feel like it was his fault we had to leave (something we work very hard to avoid, which is why we call ahead!).
(5) We had to call family and let them know they would need to meet us elsewhere for breakfast as our son would not be able to eat at the Owego Kitchen.
We ended up requesting and receiving a full refund.
We met our family at River Rock Diner in Owego. We HIGHLY recommend RIVER ROCK DINER if you have someone with food allergies. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and their food was delicious!!

No matter what time of the day I go here the coffee is always lukewarm. I have really appreciated the good quality food which, admittedly, they do offer. As I mentioned, however, the coffee is never ever hot---I have told them this repeatedly but it never has gotten fixed so I go to Carol's Coffee and Art Bar now (wonderful food and coffee is always hot). A couple other things that turned us off there---I wanted jelly for my grandson's toast so when my husband went back up to ask for some jelly they told him it would be $3.00 (for a little plastic container of jelly) -----when prices are already substantial. He said, "that's it, along with cold coffee EVERY time we come here, we are done". Finally, I am so tired of hearing the owner's political views---not the place for it---if you're selling coffee and food, sell coffee (hot) and food but not your opinions, thank you!
