Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We've been here a few times. The food is always delicious, no matter what is ordered. This last time..WoW. I had the steak salad and the other 5 at our table were in awe...as well as myself. Never saw such a beautiful salad and it was delicious. A nice steak was sliced and cooked just the way I like it (Medium) sitting on top of lettuce, baby spinach, sliced cucumbers, sliced small tomatoes, black olives, sliced banana peppers, hard boiled egg with balsamic dressing. It was so large I had some the next day for lunch. I wish I had taken a picture of it because it was 'a thing of beauty'. Everyone else had something different and they all said theirs was delicious, also. The only problem was the wait..and it was quite a wait, it wasn't terribly busy either. But....I guess - "good things come to those who wait!" :-)

My husband and I were looking for a getaway that was not far from home. The Parkview Hotel was recommended by a few friends so we decided to give it a try. We could not be more happy with our stay here. The personal attention you get at check-in and during your entire stay is unmatched. They treat you like family and make sure your every need is met.
We had dinner at the Dugan House Restaurant, which is part of the hotel, and we had an amazing dinner. The service we had was again unmatched.
We highly recommend the Parkview Hotel and the Dugan House Restaurant to anyone who wants to escape without going too far from home. You will be beyond pleasantly surprised.

Whlie in Owego, we decided to try to find a place to eat that was open for inside dining and discovered that this restaurant was open, and I'm glad it was. I've been to Owego many times but hadn't heard of this location, it was recommended by a local. Our group had different items, from the fish and chips (special), crabcakes, meatloaf, roast beef, and one other item. All of it was wonderful. Everyone was pleased with his or her selection. The service was good, the restaurant abiding by health standards. What a wonderful and historic location. We will certainly be visiting here again on our next visit. I can't wait!

We visited for Valentine's weekend. Our meals were well prepared and delicious. The price was quite reasonable and the service in the midst of a busy night was attentive.
We had a nightcap in the adjacent bar. It was well equipped and had a skilled bartender.
We will visit again and have already been telling friends of the cozy location that has been hiding in plain sight to us for years.

Being local to the area, we occasionally
go the the Parkview to eat. Not again.
Our visit started by listening to the waitresses openly complaining about staffing, which this sour attitude carried thru our meal.
My wife ordered a tuna melt, which had almost no tunafish and a cold slice of cheese on top of bread. We pointed this out to the grumpy waitress who said very coldly Sorry.
While my burger was OK, it came with the smallest portion of fries I have ever been served. And what they say is their famous homemade chips were obviously deep fried in old oil based on the lasting aftertaste.
While I understand things can go wrong in any restaurant, the lack of caring and no consideration at all for the terrible food tells me don't go there again
Plenty of good places to eat in Owego but the Parkview IS NOT on the list

We live in Owego and have occasionally visited the Parkview for Dinner over many years. We find the wait staff to be very good, however food quality varies greatly . Sometimes its very good and other times not so good. A few weeks ago we had an excellent meal there so we tried again last night and it was terrible. We will not return again any time soon. Maybe in the distant future when we're curious if things have changed for the better, we may try again. Diners beware.

We like to eat here for something different. They make good macaroni and cheese. You get a LARGE helping, along with a side of one of the vegetables of the day. Usually they have a choice of three vegetables. I have also tried one of the quiches but found the crust was too thick for my preference. There are three different rooms, so you can usually dine in a quieter or more lively atmosphere. This is a very old, historical building. They also have a few hotel rooms upstairs. We haven't stayed there but the descriptions, pics and prices listed online looked nice and seemed reasonable.

The clerk at our hotel recommended this place. It was very nice. We enjoyed our meals. I absolutely adore quiche and what a pleasure to find a yummy broccoli cheddar quiche with a homemade delicious tomato and spinach soup. As good as I make at home!
Parking was a bit tricky, but worth the trouble. They have an outside patio too.
We heard after we were there that the place is supposedly haunted. That would have been fun to know when we were there! Not sure we believe, but we had a bit of fun with it afterwards. 👻

This was our first visit to Parkview, which was recommended by our hotel. It is an interesting old place, right near the river. They offer some good, homemade dishes, and we chose the chicken pot pie which was excellent. The service was a bit slow, but I think everything is cooked to order. The staff were friendly, and the prices reasonable for what you get. We would return here again if in the area, and try some other dishes.

The hotel has been completely renovated but they kept the old historic atmosphere throughout. We stayed for three nights and ate at the restaurant twice. The food and service was excellent. The menu had plenty of choices for breakfast and dinner. The rooms at the front of the hotel have a great view of the Susquehanna River and there is an outdoor porch on the second floor with the same view, which is accessible to all guests. It is not far from the Finger Lakes. Beth, the owner was very attentive when we arrived. We are planning to come back.

Found this little gem waiting for my date. Had a few drinks before heading off the throw axes at PaC's. Great conversation with t barkeep- and owner's son. Went to a sub par restaurant after for a horrible experience and then went back here for dinner and more drinks. Amazing comfort food hit the spot! She got the mac and cheese and said it was super yummy. Thanks for turning our Owego dining experience around!

Great casual restaurant with a quite extensive menu. I had trouble deciding among a dozen different things that all sounded wonderful. Great selection of sandwiches but lots of other good things from which to choose. Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely eat here again. Also stayed overnight in the hotel. Beautifully redone rooms, bathroom was lovely, and KUDOS for the soft toilet paper! DOG FRIENDLY, and the park is right across the street. Will definitely stay here again!

Staff was very friendly and the prices were superb (under ten dollars for a Guinness and a glass of cabernet). Great place for drinks or quick bites in a friendly pub
