Came here for dinner with my two best friends, on a Friday night during covid. We arrived at 5:15pm and by 6:00pm every table was taken. Tables were 6ft apart, menus are scanned onto your phone and all the staff are wearing masks. Since we were there in November, everyone was dining inside. This restaurant has spectacular water and sunset views! We shared an appetizer of Cajun bass bites for $16.00, which were moist, spicy and very good. It was accompanied with a delicious sauce on the side. Each of us ordered a specialty martini which were $15.00 each, but the one that stood out was the sunset martini! Two of us ordered the pesto Parmesan striped bass on top of a mushroom and asparagus risotto for $38.00. This entree was outstanding! I would come back to this restaurant just for this entree! My other friend ordered the seafood fra diavalo over linguine for $37.00, which was big enough for two people and very good! For dessert we shared the gluten free chocolate torte for $10.00. It was okay, portion size small, next time will order a different dessert. The staff were all friendly, efficient and took all necessary covid restrictions. The three of us enjoyed this restaurant very much and will definitely be back!

Coll remote location outside town near the sound beaches. Views are pretty, especially if you sit outside. Food felt pretty unimaginative and the menu items they tried to make interesting were off. Parmesian crusted fish...no. Scallops only available with masked sweet potatoes...so heavy for seafood. Drinks were very good. The oysters did not taste fresh and they only serve with red horseradish sauce. Sushi was very good.

Last year during my annual visit to Montauk with my sisters we decided to try a different restaurant from the one we had been going to for many years. The Inlet Seafood Restaurant popped up as the place to go for fresh seafood with decent prices and a spectacular view of the Long Island Sound. All of this is true. It has once again been voted by Newsday as one of the top 100 restaurants on Long Island. We arrived when it opened at noon on a weekday and by 1pm, the restaurant was filling up quickly. The fish is as fresh as it gets. The PEI mussels are a favorite, in white wine and garlic sauce, with crusty slices of bread for dipping. Delicious. I tried the cajun cod sandwich with crispy seasoned fries and creamy coleslaw. Even brought half of it back home, since I was full from the mussels. Other standouts were the fish and chips and blackened fluke sandwich, both served with those tasty fries and coleslaw. My sister ordered from their sushi menu, which offers a nice selection of nori and specialty rolls, as well as sashimi and sushi appetizers. Their appetizers include seafood raw bar, clam chowder, baked oysters, edamame and steamed artichoke, among other things. For those looking for something other than seafood, a selection of salads, chicken, beef and pasta is available. We've never made it to dessert (too full), but they do offer a small selection, including a gluten-free option of flourless chocolate cake. They also offer a full list of wine, beer, specialty cocktails and soft drinks. On a beautiful, sunny Montauk day, it is lovely sitting outside on the rooftop deck enjoying a bite to eat. Prices are moderate (hamburger) to expensive (rib eye), but the quality speaks for itself. They are open 6 days a week (closed Thursdays) for lunch and dinner (and takeout). The views at sunset can't be beat.

It took us 2 attempts to get into the Inlet, but it was worth it!. They do not take reservations so you have to take a chance to see if you can get seated. The first night we went on a Tues. at 7PM. The woman at the front desk said she had too many names on the wait list. Disappointed, we called another restaurant and were able to get a reservation at 8:15 PM. We went back the next day at 6PM. The woman at the front desk said there would be a 30 minute wait. We returned to our car to wait because it was chilly outside. 10 minutes later we were called and we were seated at a great table near the window. I have uploaded some of the views. I ordered the lobster roll on a bioche roll. It came with cole slaw, fries and a pickle! It was the best lobster roll I had ever tasted! My husband ordered salmon with quinoa. It had balsamic vinagarette on it. He said it also was delicious. The service was good. The only thing was the waiter automatically gave us the bill when we finished our main meal without asking if we wanted coffee or dessert. I would defnitely return on my next visit to Montauk.

So I was less than impressed with this place especially after all the good reviews. Things started off well. We ordered drinks. Sat for a few minutes before ordering. Appetizers came out. Baked clams and calamari. Both were ok. Nothing special. While still eating our apps, our entrees came out and as they placed our entrees on the table, they removed the apps that we were still eating. My husband’s steak was good but overcooked and I had the fluke, which was pretty good but the fish was also overcooked. Dessert was tempura cheesecake which was good but nothing outstanding. Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back.

Was here with a group of 5 . All were happy with their meals. Two sets of California Rolls, one Spicy Girl Roll, and a Lobster Ravioli were all given the thumbs up by their diners. I had a Caesar Salad and a Lobster Roll. The Caesar Salad could have been a bit tastier, but the Lobster Roll was pretty much close to a 10/10 (although it was $37). Plenty of lobster meat, tasted fresh, not too much mayo, delicious. The fries that came with it were a bit soggy but tasty. The only real complaint I had is the wait staff came very quickly, but we had someone missing who was in the restroom. Once that person returned, it took about 15 minutes to get the wait staff back. Otherwise, everything was great and worth a trip back.

Dinner, won’t be repeated. The $40. steak was not a good cut. In texture and flavor. Only half eaten . Calamari app had nice light batter, but every piece was rubbery. Same for the clam linguine — chewy rubbery . Great flavor and garlic yum. And a huge portion. But, oy, my jaw muscles ached. Simple sushi was fresh and great. Fish n chips was great fresh fish but batter overly bland. Same light batter that was on calamari I think. Dessert was yummy. The unhappy hostess on the ground floor set the tone for a meal that was not up to the reputation or the view. Go for a cocktail, grab some apps. The cauliflower was excellent. Skip the entree. . Three green dots is generous review. Two for the food and one for the view.

We went on a quiet Tuesday afternoon and were greeted as if we were an imposition. Once the server came, we asked a few questions and she referred us to the bottom of the menu that states no substitutions. I ordered a grilled fish sandwich and my wife ordered an ahi tuna bowl (removing a few items she didn't want but not substituting). The tuna came with fish eggs on top which my wife doesn't eat and she asked the server if the description stated fish eggs. She told her it did and walked away. My wife tried to remove them but then got the menu to find that were not listed. Reluctantly, she took it away and remade it. My fish them came out and was fried, I advised I ordered grilled and she simply took it and walked away. The remade tuna came out with spicy mayo on it and although it was ordered on the side, we just kept it at that point. I understand mistakes happen but an apology (or 2) would have gone a long way. I would suggest finding another place in Montauk to eat.

It's a tough time for restaurants, so kudos to one that manages to do a good job. After striking out at another area seafood restaurant, the fishing tackle shop owner suggested this place. It's a lovely setting. We were able to sit outside and were thus much more comfortable with the COVID risk. We arrived at lunch time opening and were promptly seated. The seafood was excellent. The service was courteous and respectful and were were prepared for delays which never occurred. One of the best dining experiences we had during our week long stay on Long Island.

When we walked in we were greeted by the unhappy hostess on the ground floor. Waiting patiently for the bartender downstairs to take our drink order who was engaged in a conversation with the only other couple at the bar. Not a big deal except these customers were obviously inebriated and spewing the F word loudly several times in each sentence. Not a prude, however there were young children nearby and this bartender should have used good sense to end the conversation and take our order. After our 40 minute wait we were told to go upstairs to be greeted by the hostess. She was lovely and seated us immediately. The Cesar salad was wonderful. Fresh crispy romaine and a wonderful homemade dressing. The oysters were a big disappointment. They were sloppily shucked with multiple small pieces of the shell sitting in the liquor of the oyster. 3 of the oysters had missing pieces of shell which should have been thrown in the trash. The oysters themselves were sitting on a tray of melting ice with some already submerged. The seafood sauce tasted jarred. Terrible. My husband ordered fish and chips. The fries were delicious however the fish was coated in a tasteless batter. Seasoning was sorely needed. I enjoyed the poke bowl, except the fish cubes were warm and should be served cold. Couldn’t recommend.

Saw this as #2 rated restaurant in Monto. It’s totally overrated. Baked clams were mostly bread crumbs and I think I cracked a tooth on the rocks and grit still in the clam. Very unimaginative menu. Fried flounder sandwich was blah. Shrimp and bacon sandwich average. Both served on almost stale rolls. Lobster roll was tasteless. Waitress cane over and says “you want a drink?” We had just sat down. Dud can we have a few minutes? She seemed annoyed snd we didn’t see her again for at least ten minutes. Zero personality. Never checked if we needed anything mid asked if we wanted more drinks. View is nice but not worth it. How this place get #2 ranking is beyond me. Go somewhere else.

the oysters, fried calamari and sashimi were all fresh and good but not special in any way. the pumpkin cheese cake was the only real standout in addition to the wonderful and welcoming staff. owned by six local commercial fishermen with a good view of the working harbor . . . perfect for lunch.

My best friend, his wife and daughter joined my family of 4 to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. We arrived and were sat rather quickly around 545pm on a Monday night. We were sat upstairs facing the water and next to the sushi station. The menu is hard to decide from because everything read deliciously. We ordered a few appetizers Edamame, Calamari and General Tao’s Cauliflower. All three were great. We ordered an array of sushi as well as fish and chips and pasta with scallops. No one left hungry. In fact we only ordered dessert to sing to happy birthday to my wife. Ad the kids helped her finish the dessert we watch the sunset and it was a perfect end to a fantastic meal. Whether it’s a family dinner or date night I highly recommend this place.

It was a beautiful day and we arrived to be told we could not sit outside and view was same from all inside seats but that's not true of sunset we came to see. Ordered appetizer baked clams oregano . Horrible. A whole clam with over dried bread crumbs. We asked our waitress for recommendations and she had none and said whatever you like to eat. I had catch of the day fish tacos on corn tortilla and my husband had linguini and clam sauce. These dishes were both good. We did not stay for dessert. We felt the restaurant is over priced for the quality and the service. Location location I guess but that changed when not allowed to eat outside , yet bar patrons were sitting outside next to bar? We always loved this restaurant. We have been coming for years, but something has definitely changed. I do not expect to come back.

We love Inlet for so many reasons. Who but true local fishing captains could bring such authentic delicious seafood dishes to tables offering beautiful harbor, inlet and bay views as they do here? They clearly take pride in sharing their day's bounty with the visitors and locals who dine here. The quality and freshness of the food is reflected in the taste. The staff is made up of real, hard-working locals who take the time to make sure our food is prepared to our liking. Make the drive around to the far side of the harbor! The food and the views are worth it!
