Our party of 6 had a nice dinner here. Location is great and the Food was good (tuna tartar cones are excellent). The downside is they are very unaccommodating, asked for a bowl of plain pasta ( any shape) for my daughter and was told no, I would have to order the Shrimp & Scallop Pasta 'alla vodka" for $29 and have the seafood on the side...unhelpful! then as the food arrived another member of our party asked for some lettuce for her burger, again was told no. We originally thought the waitress was joking but she was not. Mentioned this to a manager since she came over and asked how dinner was. Her response was " we are short handed.....unacceptable! Will make sure we bring some lettuce if we ever dine here again!

This was our first night in Montauk and we were looking forward to dinner here. Very disappointed we went to dinner at 6pm they had no oysters and that’s what we came for and they also ran out of Salmon. It’s a Wednesday evening in a Seafood restaurant that is highly rated for oysters. The lobster bisque was ehh. And we both had the rigatoni with a Cajun cream sauce and shrimp. The shrimp were a nice size but again the sauce was lacking. It was a cream sauce that was so watered down it had no flavor. I would never go again. Not a good start to a mini vacation as far as food was concerned.

My wife and I stopped by for lunch before leaving Montauk. Didn't anticipate too much but found the food was surprisingly good. The clam chowder was superb, very creamy and silky, and the lobster roll was fresh and tasty. The potato salad on the side was also perfectly cooked. Staff were very friendly.

When seafood is done well, it will really make your whole day. Hearing that your spontaneous lunch with us was worth it is amazing to hear! We agree, the clam chowder and lobster roll are delicious. We're thrilled to hear that you left happy, and we hope you'll stop by the next time you're in Montauk! Best, The Gosman Family

We dined here for my husband’s birthday with 3 small children as part of a long beach weekend away. While there was a bit of a wait, we were pleasantly surprised by how organized and attentive the staff was. And everyone was wearing masks and following all COVID-19 protocols. There were both indoor and outdoor dining options and the bar was serving drinks outside which helped distract from the wait. It’s also right on the water so we had great views of boats coming in and out of the marina. The food was delicious as well. Definitely one of the best clam chowders around! Highly recommend!

I am afraid that Gosmans has outlived its hype. Going among restaurant options at Godmans little village, it was hard to put together what we both wanted. Where we ended up we received what appears to be boxed frozen clam strips thrown in a deep fryer. At least it came with a little small tub of coleslaw and fries. The lobster, at market price, came with nothing but a commercial oil substance approximating butter. It came with no utensils to break the lobster. There’s a reason why lobster houses provide bibs but no bibs were provided and it seems to be asking for the moon for extra napkins. Even with a $60 lunch for two could not get a soft drink refilI; needed to pony up $3.75 for a small. I’m afraid we were sorely disappointed that what we had hoped to be a great anniversary lunch on our vacation to Long Island proved to be monumentally disappointing. Eat elsewhere.

On August 31, 2020, my boyfriend and I looked forward to celebrating a special occasion by dining at Gosman’s. My boyfriend had dined there 3 years ago and raved about the twin lobster tails. How times have changed. Absolutely the worst I’ve ever had. One tail was over-cooked (tough) and the other translucent (very undercooked), the same for my boyfriend’s. The butter for dipping was extremely salty. Our mistake was in not sending the food back. In addition, our appetizer of clams casino was lackluster and consisted of only 4 tiny clams. On the only positive note—the lettuce wedge was good. Disappointed, would be putting it mildly, but the receptionist and wait staff deserve kudos for service. I wonder who’s watching the kitchen...

We were seated on the pretty outside patio overlooking the pier. Our tasty but not special appetizers [lobster bisque and bruschetta] arrived after 30 minutes. An hour later, the poor waiter told us that the kitchen was "getting slammed" by an indoor private event. We wanted to leave, but he told us our food would be ready in 10 minutes. My husband ordered his tuna steak "medium rare", but the middle was cold, rubbery, and inedible. It was seasoned with salt and too much pepper. The 10 - 15 tables around us had no food at all. We left and had dinner elsewhere -- sort of spoiled an otherwise beautiful night out. The reason why I am not leaving 1 star is that the waiter did what he could to please the customers: free drinks, knocking items off the bill. He tried to decline the tip I wanted to leave him for the whole dinner [if we had paid].

We were so excited to take our family to dinner at Gossmans…… that ended the minute we sat down. We felt like the wait staff rushed us in and out, making our dining experience very disappointing. We were offered no specials or drink options. When going to dinner and spending hundreds of dollars you would expect a level of service to match. We all agreed we had a better experience ordering from the Sammy’s food truck across the street and bringing it onto the beach to enjoy. Gossman’s will no longer be our choice for a nice dinner out when visiting Montauk.

This is our favorite restaurant in Montauk.. you can have dinner inside with the beautiful panoramic views of the sunset.. or you can have dinner outside right at the waters edge.. we’ve done both . The food is just scrumptious. I usually order a lobster 🦞 tail which is truly amazing. You can watch the most amazing sunsets 🌅 while you eat. After dinner you can walk around the shops and listen to outdoor music which is usually there on the weekends in the summer!

The food here was great. I had the fish and chips and it was very good. The best thing here is the tuna tartare cones. They sound strange but it tasted so good. The location of the restaurant is great and the restaurant itself is nice as well. Our waitress was also very nice but they are very unaccommodating. For example, on the kids menu they had a burger and one of the people at my table asked for a piece of lettuce on the burger, but the kitchen was not able to do that. Also they have a few pasta dishes on the menu another one of the kids in my group wanted plain pasta. They said they could do that but they had to charge the same price as the dish with scallops and mussels. Overall, I would recommend going here for the experience but it is probably not best for picky eaters.

Due to takeout-only regulations that are in place for COVID, we ordered takeout to eat on the beach. The staff was friendly and accommodating even though we had called to place our order shortly before the restaurant's closing time. I ordered the blackened tuna which was delicious and very fresh. The curbside pickup was quick and simple. Although nothing beats the waterfront sit-down experience, it was nice to enjoy the same great meal through takeout.

We were happy to fulfill that takeout order for you to enjoy on the beach. Glad to see you loved our fresh blackened tuna. And we're happy that the curbside pickup experience was nice and easy for you. We can't wait to have you back for a sit-down meal when the timing is right! Best, The Gosman Family

What’s better than fresh seafood decently priced right on the water with beautiful views. The answer is nothing. Gosman’s Restaurant was very good. We started with a wedge salad and calamari both were very good. My wife and I for dinner had lobster steamed to perfection my best friend had the tuna steak cooked perfectly. No wait on an early Sunday night 5pm dinner.

It was a bright day and everything was really good. I enjoyed the clear ocean view, the party boats blaring fun music as they went by, and the fresh food. I had a lobster roll for lunch with some friends. It was excellent. It was not a busy lunch hour so the service was good. The ocean side decor was very on point. The area around the restaurant is very idyllic, clean, presentable. Wonderful place.

Half of the fun of spending a day on the water is in the atmosphere, and hearing that our restaurant's ambiance helped make your day so idyllic is great news! The reason we love being on the water is that we get to share the view with our guests. We're thrilled to hear that the lobster roll and service both made the day a little brighter. We hope you'll be back soon for another day on the coast! The Gosman Family

Been coming to Gosmans for years, but this time will be our last. The service was a joke. Waiter come to table and says they have a new chef and manager. I ask if there are any specials today, he says they have a flounder special but he has to ask chef if any are left. After 20 minutes I flag another waiter and ask him to find our waiter, ten minutes later our waiter returns and asks if we are ready to order. I ask of the special is still available and he said he couldn’t find the chef to ask if any left, he leaves again. Another five minutes he returns and says the do have a flounder special, I order the flounder special and my wife gets the swordfish. When the food arrives I am speechless, one small piece of flounder and a few steamed broccoli. No seasoning nothing on flounder, I mean nothing. It looked like cafeteria food! My wife’s swordfish was not much better, a tiny bit of breadcrumbs topping and again a few steamed broccoli. Waiter never comes by to ask if OK or we liked food, which we did not. Finally some comes to clear table of our horrible food. I ask to see manager, they can’t find him. I get bill and the tiny piece of flounder is $38, what a waste of money. Don’t waste time nor money till they sell Gosmans and get someone who cares what they serve. I wish I could give a half star.
