Terrifically simple stop for food and drink!

We had dinner here on Friday, Nov 24, as we visited for Christmas in the ADKs weekend. We were alone in the dining room, yet well attended by the nicest guy ever, who doubled as bartender, quite capably. We had broiled haddock dinners, with fresh salad and bread, plus husband loved his clam chowder starter. It was hearty and delicious. We each had two drinks, and he had banana cake for dessert. As we finished, several groups came in and things got festive. We have stopped here many times over the years and are always happy with the quaint homey atmosphere. Great meal, thanks!!

Much Improved Service

A few years ago I wrote a review for Drake’s and expresses disappointment with the slow service. In fairness, I need to tell you that things have changed for the better. The food is still good, the portions are just right and the prices are very fair. And now the service is prompt as well. My reluctance to go here is gone. Will definitely return.

Dinner was great and, quite inexpensive

We have had breakfast her frequently but NEVER a dinner... During the Columbus day weekend this entire area was swamped with tourists.. We literally couldn't find a place to eat....!!! Reluctantly, we decided to go to Drakes. We got a pleasant surprise. We both had the Haddock dinner and it was very good !! While this place is quite "dated", the owner does the best she can with a limited income. Our dinner was HALF the price of anywhere else and easily just as good.! The owners son was our waiter and, he was a workaholic. We will go back for one of her "specials" for sure..!!

Quaint restaurant/bar

Quiet, quaint place. Family owned and operated. Great food and local flavor of the Adirondacks. Eat and drink here every time we are in town.

Filling and flavorful lunch

Four of us were in the area to photograph fall color and stopped for lunch. I had a tuna melt on marble rye and curly fries - both very good. The sandwich had plenty of tuna; the fries were crispy and excellent. The sandwich was only $4.95 and the curly fries $2.95, so quite a bargain. The service was fine.

Lunch on the way to Inlet

We had a good lunch at Drake's on the way to Inlet. Food was good but wait time long considering it was a late lunch and not crowded.

Basic food in a friendly setting

The restaurant is a bit worn, and the menu rarely (never?) changes. Yet, it is a must stop. Friday's fish fry is also offered broiled and cajun broiled. Chicken Parm on Saturday (and Wednesdays in the summer) is worth the trip.

It was very quiet

We walked it and it was a full bar but it was dead. Like a morgue. There were 10 of us and we were a little loud. We were frowned upon. We left after 1 drink prolly won’t go back

Still a Disappointment

Years ago we had been to Drake's and I vowed never to return. On the way home from a long weekend in Long Lake, we stopped to catch breakfast before hitting the road for home. No one met us or acknowledged us as we walked in. We seated ourselves and were finally handed a menu and asked what we wanted for a drink. We both ordered coffee, and after 10 minutes of still waiting for coffee or just a mug, I announced that this wait and lack of service was not working -- we left. The restaurant was packed with customers, but many were still sitting with only coffee mugs in front of them and waiting on their breakfast order. Many people were unhappy, but had already placed an order and felt obligated to stay. There was one person running the register, waiting on customers at the bar, waiting on customers at tables, running with pots of coffee, and delivering orders. A true disappointment -- never again!

Great place in Inlet, N.Y.

Went for breakfast, very friendly staff, great atmosphere. Great coffee. Has a basic breakfast menu, food came out a little slow but we are on vacation and no place to be than right here, right now so no worries. The food was delicious and worth the wait and enjoyed my conversation with my daughters.

unique eatery in the Adirondacks

Stopped for lunch and was happy with our choice. My wife had a salad and I had a burger and fries. Salad was fresh and not the chemical tasting bag salad, burger was delicious with hand cut fries. Atmosphere was quaint and with an Adirondack feel, very nice and cold tap beer to boot. The order took a bit, we didn't mind as we were in no rush.

Dinner

It was very good dinner I had the broiled scallops extra crispy it took a while to cook not sure why they weren't that busy but when we did get it it was very good. The owner was the bartender very friendly her name is Paula, we would go back there again maybe for lunch next time price was reasonable other than it took a while for dinner I would recommend it.

Our camera group went here for dinner. We were going to do a sunset shoot but we missed it cause it took over 1 hour to get our food. The server was wonderful but he was the only one there and it was busy? Hire another person and you own't lose business

So slow! Not so great food

We had dinner at Drakes recently. There was only one other party in the restaurant when we sat down in a booth. They had already been served. We ordered and were served salad and bread quickly. Then we waited about 40 minutes for our entrees. Grilled chicken and clam strips. The chicken was good, but the portion of clams was too small for the price we paid and they were tiny strips. We will not return.

An Agonizing Wait for Awful Pizza

I am glad that some other customers had better experiences than I did. But my time at Drake's was a disaster. I called ahead for a take-away order: a 12" pizza and a dozen wings. When I arrived half an hour later as instructed, I was told it wasn't ready yet. I ultimately waited an additional 30-35 minutes- again, over an hour wait for a very simple order. The staff wasn't very apologetic, and on top of everything, the pizza was lukewarm to the touch and very greasy. I don't like writing bad reviews, and this is the first one-star review I've written, but Drake's disappointed. I won't be back.
