Four of us dined at Chez Mike recently and none of us had been there in a long time. Between us, we had three different meals - ribs, flank steaks, and the seafood chowder - all excellent! The maple pudding for dessert was superb! Our server, Natasha, was also excellent and very attentive without being overbearing. The tables are far apart, the music was at a good volume, and we dined for hours without ever feeling rushed. The prices are higher than most places but worth it!!

From the first call to the hostess our experience was exceptional. Although there were no reservations available the hostess booked us at the bar. Katie the bartender was incredible; friendly, helpful, attentive, delicious craft cocktails and high end spirits at a great value. The food was tasty and slow cooked with fresh ingredients. Don’t let the location (in a strip mall) deter you from opening the door. Once inside you’re in for an amazing culinary experience.

While visiting the capital region we found Chez Mike in the area where we were staying. Our first night's meal was so successful we made an immediate reservation for the following evening. As noted the Calamari was expertly prepared. We also had a wonderful lamb dish that was top shelf, and finished it with a tasty Rhubarb/Strawberry dessert. We will definitely be back if we even pass through the region.

Chez Mike will definitely be added to my restaurant rotation, the menu choices are interesting and the service is 5 star. We have been to the restaurant twice and have appreciated every appetizer and entrée ordered. Service is outstanding, the wait staff are well informed regarding each entree's preparation. Tina was our server during our last visit, she easily answered my questions regarding a particular entrée and provided an enjoyable dining experience. A gentlemen served us on our first visit, he also was excellent - unfortunately I did not remember his name.
The dishes are plated like a 5 star restaurant with interesting sides. On one visit I ordered the Short Ribs, they were the best flavored and most tender I have ever eaten. We have also had a couple of fish entrees that were very enjoyable. Ps. the coffee is very good.

Since moving into the area, Chez Mike has become our "go to" local place when we want an excellent meal at a reasonable price with terrific and friendly service. Last night, instead of cooking, we had "date night" and once again had an absolutely outstanding meal.
This time, our waitress was Mandee and she was terrific! Friendly, fun, attentive and professional...everything one could want in a server and more! Our drinks were perfectly made and her recommendations were spot on.
Last night I tried the seafood chowder for the first time and it was perfection!...Huge pieces of shrimp, scallops, clams and halibut with potatoes in a soup/chowder that was to die for. My only complaint is that I wasn't able to finish every last bite...great amount of food!
I love exploring new items on Chez Mike's menu and look forward to our next meal to see what I'll have. Thanks Mandee for a great night out!!

We recently moved to East Greenbush from Hudson and were looking for a good, local place for dinner. We found Chez Mike on TA and as it was only 5 minutes from our house decided to give it a try last night. Fortunately we made a reservation because when we arrived it was packed; clearly CM is a popular place. We were seated shortly after we arrived and Natasha, our server, brought us menus. She is fantastic! I don't know how many tables she had (she was hustling) but she gave everyone the same level of friendly, knowledgeable service.
We ordered (exceptionally well made) cocktails then placed our order: fried calamari and pate to start and calves liver and pistachio crusted cod. While we waited for our starters Natasha brought us some warm bread with olive butter. The bread was crunchy and the butter flavorful. Everything was delicious! The calamari was cooked perfectly: tender not rubbery with just the right amount of coating and a slightly spicy marinara sauce. The pate was equally terrific and perfectly seasoned with just the right number of cunchy toasts. The calves liver was spot on medium rare with a wonderful onion and bacon sauce, a huge portion of mashed potatoes and veggie. The cod was a nice size fillet with a crunchy topping; flavorful and yet light. Needless to say we didn't have room for dessert.
The menu has something for everyone and we found it difficult to choose between the menu items and the daily specials. Overall it was an excellent experience and we are so happy to have found a new favorite place so close to our new home. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommended!

Came upstate from Long Island for a weekend wedding and needed a place to go for dinner on Friday night. We found Chez Mike in trip adviser and were more than pleased with the amazing dinner. 6 people all amazed at this Hidden Gem in a shopping enter. We ordered the Caesar salad because of the reviews and did not disappoint. It lived up to its billing. The short rib, braised pork shank special, pork cutlet Milanese and Halibut were All perfect. Definitely dine here if you are in the neighborhood.

Having recently moved to East Greenbush, my husband and I have been dying to try Chez Mike since we moved in, but our scheduled prevented it. Boy, were we foolish to wait so long and it clearly is the best restaurant around!!
While not much to look at from the outside, the inside is well designed and looks beautiful. We were immediately greeted by the organized hostess and, having arrived a little early for our reservation, she directed us to the bar. No sooner did we sit down, but our table became available and our wonderful meal began.
Our server Natasha could not have been more friendly, attentive or helpful with the menu selections. And the menu is terrific, with plenty of amazing options in addition to some terrific daily specials. Our drinks immediately followed which were perfectly mixed!
But the food is clearly the star of the show here and it doesn't disappoint. I had the pate to start and the haddock, both of which were beautifully prepared and presented. The flavor balance was spot on and the portion sizes were exceptionally generous. I loved it!
Can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks! Definitely the best restaurant around!

Yes, it seems that everything they serve here is well executed, I am sure of that. However, since you cannot get out of there for much under $30-$50 per person, I am not sure it is quite THAT amazing. But, it seems people going here don't mind paying since they are assured of a good night out in most every way. Very nice service, though it can sometimes slow down too much, but if you are group, that usually does not matter (which means: do not go here if you have a show to catch).

We recently moved back to the capital district for the summer as a respite from the weather in SW Florida. We had heard of this place over the past few years and decided to give it a try. We were impressed with the food and the friendly service provided by Cameron and other staff. As we had a reservation we were promptly seated upon arrival, while others, apparently without reservations, waited for openings. The Caesar salad was requested with anchovies and was serviced with plenty of same and the dressing was right on. For entrees we had the veg bolognese which had a tasty rich sauce and calves liver. The liver was perfectly cooked medium rare and had a delicious topping of a mixture of bacon and onions where were seasoned nicely. The sides, one of which was eggplant we requested in place of the mashed potatoes listed on the menu, were very nicely prepared. We had a crème brûlée for dessert which was not as sweet as some but tasty and freshly fired as it was still warm on the crusted top. All in all a fine experience. We will be back.

Chez Mike is our go to place because we know we will have an excellent meal and excellent service. Last night was no exception. Mandee was our server and was fantastic. We've had Natasha and Cameron in the past and they too were outstanding. The food, as always, was delicious. For starters we went with a daily special and a traditional favorite: smoked salmon with fresh salad and housemate pate. Our entrees were a seafood chowder (special) and calves liver. Everything was amazing and beautifully presented.
The food is always fresh, cocktails are well made and service is spot on. Definitely a place to try when in EG.

My favorite is the beef short ribs. They cook in a veal stock - absolutely amazing! The brick roasted chicken is also good. I've enjoyed various special apps and delicious desserts over the years - never had a bad meal there!

This was our 2nd visit to East Greenbush and 2nd time to Chez Mike. There gluten free bread is the best! Most of the menu can be down gluten free. Some of the descriptions seem a bit odd, but they work quite well. We had a scallop starter with chili (which I am not a big fan of), it was fantastic! The service is outstanding and all very familiar with gluten free.

We had an overnight in Albany on way to Maine and read the reviews for Chez Mike (love the name!). The reviews were spot on, both of us had a fabulous meal and Cameron provided us with excellent service despite it being a busy evening. Don't be deceived by it being in a strip mall, and don't miss Chez Mike's, you won't regret it.

This was my second visit to Chez Mike and this place continues to deliver.
Came in with a small dog and wasn’t expecting to be accommodated, but fortunately, the staff and owner couldn’t have been more kind and generous.
Food was excellent; felt like a home cooked meal. Try the short ribs, they’re excellent!
